I don't think you will get a clear answer to this, just because the nature of big data is proprietary and non-public. I think there are definitely points where the Sox usage of data spills out into the public domain, such as a couple of their draft picks getting their scouting data talked about during the course of the draft. If they are getting that deep into the woods in scouting, I have no doubt they are getting WAY deeper internally.

So 2-3 guys over two generations? That doesn't seem like habitually to me, especially when you balance out the Quintana and Eaton trades in just the last few years.

Is he a starter? Obviously not. Has he given us exactly what we needed? You are darned right he has. He should be the super utility guy, instead he has basically been a starter due to injuries.

That could also be a solid move. The bigger problem is that we need to roster both Eloy and Robert, and last I knew we only had one open 40 man roster spot. Someone will be a DFA, and it makes sense to me that it will be one of the OFs. That is unless we can get a deal done in the next few days that moves some 40 man roster spots without filling them all right back up with the guys we get in trades.

They could both be guys, but I don't think their minor league numbers so far really show that they are THIS good. I think Burger has a better chance just because he can play some defensive positions, but I think both are probably here to be shown off to the rest of MLB.
