  1. Not to mention that inconsistency is a part of being a very young minor leaguer at a higher level.
  2. That wasn't even close.
  3. Cue meltdowns in 3, 2, ....
  4. I don't think it is his power TOOL that is overrated, I think because he gives himself up routinely with two strikes, he won't hit as many homers as he would if he used the same swing no matter what the count was.

I mean don't get me wrong, I LOVE this Carlos Rodon and hope he lasts forever, but would I bet $20 million a year on it? No way. I don't know that I would bet $10 he makes it through 2021 without a DL trip at some point.

The TJS is far from the only injury he has had. With the way the Sox spend, locking up say $20 million a year in Rodon for a 3 or 4 year period could be brutal if he has another significant injury, which he does pretty much every year.
  7. Now also up to 2nd in MLB in RBI
  8. TA gets the day off, Mendick plays SS, Madrigal leading off.
  9. So would everyone except Miami.
  10. Early reports are that he is playing a decent 3B right now.
  11. We will need to get something next year, as my 15 year old will probably be taking over my car at that point. Hopefully this has cooled down by then, and some sanity comes back to the market. We have a great lot in town that sells cars in the 2-3 years old range for usually pretty decent deals, but if I had to look today, I would buy brand new, and get all of the extras that go with it for the minimal price difference.
  12. As small as the spread is anymore, you might as well buy new.
  13. Its not. I think yours was a relatively well rationed take. But there seems to be a small group of posters gunning for Yermin ever since the TLR incident.
  14. COVID really destroyed that, as not a lot of teams were willing to pick up cash, and the Cubs weren't in the situation where they could retain it either. That said, I would love Jerry to pick up that contract for a pretty small return.
  15. It seems weird to see how many people are actively rooting for him to fail after his run in with TLR, but Yermin was never an 1.100 OPS guy even in the minors. That was never going to be him. But looking at his MiLB numbers there is no reason he can't eventually settle in as an .800 to .850 guy.
  16. Never driven either, but the CRV was a great vehicle in that same family.
  17. Injuries have always been his problem. It was noted when we signed him that bringing him in probably meant that whoever was backing him up would get significant playing time around those inevitable injuries. My feeling is that he is probably trying to power through his nagging injuries to keep the team from losing another starting OF. I wouldn't be shocked to either see him go to the DL when Engel gets back, or to go to the DL very soon after Engel can show that he is ready enough to play every day. Adam got off to a decent start, so there is a decent chance an OK hitter is in there somewhere, but you have to get him healthy again to find out.
  18. If he had a truly "bad make up", he wouldn't have stuck this out until age 28 to finally get his window.
  19. Breaking news: People can fail at things for reasons other than "not trying hard enough" or whatever lazy meme was being implied in the OP.
  20. I am thrilled with the progress that Andrew has made this year. I was hoping he could give us an Eloy level of LF after literally having never played the OF before. It isn't hard to squint and see him being able to give you an average corner OF defense with a little more experience. That is a HUGE win, and it may also solve the whole 1B/DH jam by not having to force Vaughn into one of those spots.
  21. He's now so mad that people aren't talking about Tony, that for no reason he dug out an old article to try to restart the arguments. Trolling 101.
  22. Honestly, I think after what we have seen, Vaughn ends up if RF while Abreu is still here.
  23. If you really want to hedge it, TA is usually between +400 to +600 on a to hit a homer bet.
  24. Yep, that is totally it.
