  1. QUOTE(toasty @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) and people said we wouldnt bring back everett again last time Yes, but Jurassic Carl doesn't have Satan as his agent.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) I don't think you'd be able to get them because you live in the Chicago area, which means the mlb.tv games would be blacked out. Correct. They are, however, available shortly after broadcast in most cases. Being in CA, I rely on MLB.tv for most of my viewing and am generally only subject to Nationwide blackouts. Fox owns the rights to broadcast, it's up to them when to let MLB.tv air games.
  3. I usually buy tickets. I've not seen them lose in person since 1992 which includes last postseason. Being 2,000 miles away makes it tough.
  4. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Buy a PC...Mac's are overrated garbage. Over my dead body.
  5. Lovely. Lead-off walk turns into a run.
  6. let's capitalize on some of those long looks we've been getting at Koronka.
  7. Get 'em on, get 'em over...strand 'em.
  8. Fernando Valenzuela Shingo Takatsu Orel Hersheiser. I met Orel when I was a kid and he signed my copy of his autobiography. Still have it somewhere.
  9. Gay games? Are talking about games played by homosexuals or are we talking about horseshoes and shuffleboard?
  10. I was curious, so I did a quick Google to see if anything came up on the girl that rear-ended me in her 'Benz last Thursday night in Old Pasadena. This is her. You can find out more about her here. Just another day in the land of B-list celebrities and working-class hipsters who think they have a shot.
  11. Farmer is way too homer-happy. His favorite insight to add is what the score would be if who happens to be at bat hit a home run.
  12. Los Angeles current: The Ditty Bops Jude Jesca Hoop Chicago all-time: Liz Phair Veruca Salt.
  13. Went into work early because they were running a short floor for lunch rush and the staff needed relief. Had a rather uneventful night but made good tips, had a 14-top that accounted for half of my sales. Then I ate baked goods that would otherwise be thrown away as closers at my place of business are entitled to do, and I showed the newbie how to close the shop. I punched the clock and shot the s*** with the night manager, went home, popped open a PBR, cruised MySpace and Soxtalk while listening to Johnny Cash.
  14. The '05 Sox lost 7 in a row and had a horrid August, and look what happened to them. There's a lot of ball left, and although we're not out of it, it smarts getting swept by the only team in baseball that I really truly hate.
  15. Handing out a $2K fine to a man who is paid $5 million a year is equivalent to a parking ticket for you and me. Sucks, sure, but pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. So a $250 fine is about 3 bucks and change. While AJ didn't deserve to be fined, the astronomical amounts of money players are paid and the insignificant thousands they are fined are what makes me laugh. It's not unheard of that the NFL fines players by the game check.
  16. I have a better weed hookup than Freddy.
  17. Have my Raconteurs tickets for a week from tonight. Pumped.
  18. I thought we took 2 out of 3 from the Spankmes.
  19. Best Shingo memory, game 2 of Cubs/Sox at the Cell, 2004. Brought in to get Sammy Sosa for the third out in the 8th. Strike three was a frisbee change-up that Sosa swung through before it even cleared the infield grass.
  20. Well, I heard somewhere that Jonathan Papelbon eats newborn flesh.
  21. Funny he mentions the American strike zone, because he seemed to forget where it was. It wasn't the league cracking Shingo's code at all. Still, Shingomania was a good time in an otherwise disappointing 2004 campaign, and he was such a nice guy who was just happy to be here.
