That's actually not true. Giolito had elite carry even with his old delivery. He just had no idea where anything was going and threw a lot of meatballs.

I question that. There are some pitchers that have a big fastball but hitters still see it like a beach ball. Cease is one of those guys. I don't know what affects carry but it seems that Cease has the worst type which is exactly where hitters expect the fastball to be. There's no deception.

Cease is baffling. I've never seen a 98-99 mph fastball be as regularly hittable as Cease's. Hitters are usually all over it.

Just my opinion but I think we see Moncada scratch the surface of his ceiling this year. He's figured out how to balance patience and being aggressive on hitter's pitches early in the count. Would not surprise me at all if his OBP approaches or exceeds .400 this year.

Yeah, that's probably the best option. Collins deserves a shot either way, and if he doesn't make the team I think that he'll get traded to Pittsburgh, Texas or another team just beginning a rebuild.

Sammy Watkins is another option. He's been on my radar since I saw the FA list. Robinson would help him if he signs with the Bears.

The Sox need LH hitters so I think they're going to give Collins the first shot at DH and if he sucks then they'll bring up Vaughn.
