They could move Eloy to DH anyway, and just hang on to Vaughn for 2 years and stash him in the minors until Abreu's contract is up. I know everyone's really high on Vaughn's bat but for some reason I don't think he's MLB ready right now. He didn't do that great in the minors when he played. I need to see more down there. I'm also a bit concerned about his power as a 1B/DH guy.

I think they let him have a full minor league season.

Rosario is a guy you sign if you're planning to DH Eloy.
-
I second this.

What frustrates me is that they're incredibly unwilling to take a risk in FA to land a top talent. They're more than willing to take the risk on their players, but they won't do it with players from outside the organization. I don't understand why. Sp The other thing is that when they do go to free agency they do it a bit stupidly, spreading the money around on 5-6 Tier B/C FA rather than on 1 Tier A guy and 2 tier B guys. Even Keuchel and Grandal are fine. They're both tier B guys. Now they need that one tier A guy to put them over the top. It might not be this offseason, and that's fine.....but if they don't do it next year, there's going to be a lot of angst from the fanbase.

They should franchise and trade Robinson. He should have been traded already. I think he would have if they'd have lost the games they were supposed to early in the season. Both Hicks and Fuller only have 1 year left. They both should be traded this winter. I think Jaylon Johnson is very promising. So is Darnell Mooney. I think Johnson could be a building block in the future. I don't think Mooney is quite that good, but I do think he could be a solid #2. I like Anthony Miller, but with 1 year left, if anyone likes him enough to give you a pick for him, have at it. I'm almost to the point that you have to see what you have in your WR group.

^^^^^^^^^^ Then we can proceed to rip them a new asshole for not operating like the A's and Rays. They convey to their fanbase that they're an upper tier mid-market club but they continually act like a small market club. Nobody's pretending that they're in the Yankees/Sawx/Dodgers/Cubs/Mets(now) tier but they're supposed to be in the Angels/Giants/Cardinals tier but they won't even go that far.

They already spent the money....on free agents and locking up the position players.

Well, yeah. But I think Cutler>Bernie Kosar. EDIT: Yep.

I think the Browns and Lions have been pretty bad

They'll be dead soon. Funnyjunk.com was the shit back when I was in HS. -

It's only from the first viral video in the history of viral videos..... -

Do you still have Alec Hansen in your avatar? Might want to change that. -

I typically agree with you, and I'll believe it when I see it. Nobody knows what Jerry's thinking though. I wouldn't say non-zero, but maybe as high as 5%? That's just me being optimistic lol. -
Rosario isn't a RF, but he could be an option for LF/DH. There's always the option of DHing Eloy if they wanted to. In that case, why not both?

I wouldn't go quite there..........if ever there was an offseason where bargains could be had even at the top of the market, it's this one. I have no idea what the top offers from teams are going to be like...... for all we know, the Sox could get Bauer for slightly more than they were willing to pay Wheeler last winter. -

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I don't think the Sox could have gotten away with hiring TLR if they had that type of media presence. They'd have torn them to shreds. -

If bringing back TLR was enough to get Jerry to open his wallet, then it was worth it. There, I said it. Even if TLR is a drunk asshole. -

That wouldn't happen in Chicago or LA? -
Ok Jerry.....put your money where your mouth is.

I'd rather wait a while before trading another Tatis brother.....I don't want to trade him and risk damaging Paddy's relationship with Fernando Sr. as the youngest one is supposed to be better than Fernando Jr. and the Sox supposedly have the inside track on him.
-
If one year of Lance Lynn costs Dylan Cease, I want nothing to do with the trade market this winter. That would mean that guys with 3 years of control cost more than Sale or Quintana did.

I think that Crochet could be ready as soon as 2022, unless they're going to use two options and be incredibly conservative with him.
