  1. well with everyone around here saying were doomed and were gonna be no better than a 3rd place team would you rather watch these guys or watch guys who apparently (according to most here) cant get the job done. This way you free up cash, see what you got with the guys on the farm then you'll be able to go next year and grab a big time bat or 2 to fill in for the guys that didnt perform.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 12:36 AM) I would guarantee people would love watching a young team go through these struggles than a veteran one like we are even watching at home. Danks' brothers, Beckham, Flowers, Hudson, Santos, Floyd, hell even Lillibridge just to see his lucky charm ass etc.. etc... I am definitely more inclined to watch. Agree 100% I would love to see us run out 1. Danks 2. Rios 3. Beckham 4. Q 5. Flowers 6. Viciedo 7. Morel 8. Gartrell 9. Lillibridge 1. Danks 2. Floyd 3. Hudson 4. prospect we get from trades 5. prospect we get from trades and id love to see Santos closing out games after all these young guys put it all out there.
  3. I posted this in another thread but it got looked over What teams are gonna be looking to acquire a closer?? and what might they give up for Jenks?? We've got Thornton, Santos, and Putz that look like they can all close, we know 2 of the 3 can and the other, Santos, just looks flat out unhittable. I'd put Santos or putz out there so you still have thornton in a lefty role with one of the RHers. Its obvious our team would benefit from adding a big bat and i think Jenks is the best expendable piece we have. one idea i got is Matt Gamel or Casey McGehee, Trevor Hoffman is getting to the end of his career and theres no room for both of these guys.
  4. we.re still not even out of the first month guys. Our starting rotation is as much to blame as the offense...THIS TEAM IS BUILT ON ITS STARTING PITCHING AND WILL GO AS FAR AS THE STARTING PITCHING TAKES US. on a side note what teams are gonna be looking to acquire a closer?? and what might they give up for Jenks?? We've got Thornton, Santos, and Putz that look like they can all close, we know 2 of the 3 can and the other, Santos, just looks flat out unhittable. I'd put Santos or putz out there so you still have thornton in a lefty role with one of the RHers.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) FG will determine that. lets say he does....who in that rotation gets traded to make room? or do you think hudson gets traded....i say theres about a 1% chance hudson stays in the minors all year.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) Jump in and make picks, there isn't any sign up necessary. do we make em here???
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) Noone likes Sizemore hitting 3rd it seems. aside from grudz who isnt even a starter and is getting old you dont have many options for the 2 hole....ive heard a lot about brantley what type of hitter is he?
  8. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) San Quentin is a prison in California that contains all of their Death Row inmates. ah gotcha, i like it then
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/mlb/news;_...ighfives_040110 articles basically talking about guys who are having good spring and will carry it into the regular season.....i dont get "San" Quentin though.
  10. ya i guess theyre playing the knights later on, i guess i should have just have went over to the sox website before i asked lol
  11. http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/conversation...eattle-mariners are these 2 different games??? or just espn being lazy/unimformed
  12. Sox put up 7 in the first and there's no game thread...anyone know how we scored em all and whos pitching for Seattle??
  13. AL East- Yankees AL Central- White Sox AL West- M's AL WC- Twins and Rays have a one game playoff Rays win on a David Price shutout NL East-Phils NL Central- Cards NL West- Dodgers NL WC-Marlins AL MVP- Joe Mauer...Beckham and Q will get votes AL Cy Young- Jake Peavy AL Comeback- Andruw Jones NL MVP- Hanley Ramirez NL CY- Josh Johnson and since this supposed to be bold predictions at the end of the year the white sox lineup will be... Rios Pierre Beckham Q Kong Teahan Jones AJ Lexi i guess thats not too bold but meh whatever
  14. more bold predictions from espn on baseball tonight, I believe it was Buster Onley who said Beckham would lead the Sox in RBI with close to a 100.
  15. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) NOOOOOOOOO i hate mark kotsay!! i say danks twice last week and he was impressive, previously i was not a fan. and the sox think he will hit, they project him to be a 280 hitter, with 15 hrs and 20 sbs. this wasnt public talk trying to bump up his trade value, this was just me talking to the scouts in private conversations. in addition, they are unanimous in his defensive ability and great instincts who are you???? lol you always have some kind of scoop.
  16. pretty fun read http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball...k2k10youheardme He says hes high on the white sox this year as am i, i see a lot of gloom around here about our offense but i think we'll do just fine.....as long as mark kotsay isnt out 3 hole hitter.
  17. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) AJ as Dwight. Beckham as Ryan. I think the most important question would be who would be Creed? Omar Vizquel? Buehrles gotta be Jim and Linebrinks gotta be Kevin
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) It would've been a good trade even without hindsight. People were so caught up in what Dye had done in the past (OH MY GOD! HOW COULD YOU TRADE THE 2005 WORLD SERIES MVP?!) instead of looking at 2009 and onward. Dye has been in decline since 2006, with last year being rock bottom. But at his age, it wasn't that surprising. The knock on Bailey was that he mysteriously lost his stuff/velocity. Bailey's fastball was routinely hitting 95-97 MPH last year. And his secondary pitches (in particular his slider) all showed considerable improvement. Basically you saw what all the hype was about in the first place. This is why you don't dismiss 22-year olds with less than 80 innings of major league experience. That's going to be a fun rotation to watch with Cueto (who I expect to breakout), Bailey and hopefully Chapman. dont forget Volquez whom is the "funnest" of the bunch, the reds are always my 2nd fav team.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 11, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) That swing looked very familiar from CJ.....oh yeah.... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/vide...tent_id=7137159 BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE! Same swing, same pose, same spot, same distance, same score, same inning, same resulting score. that HR swing/pose/follow through reminds me of Juan Uribe
  20. or if i can get the video on the big screen
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 10:34 AM) Tyler Flowers has a big face. I obviously know hes gonna be good but ive never known how good, I read something about him having light tower power so to the guys that follow him more than i do when hes ready what do you expect from him? 20+HR? .275+BA? .350obp? middle of the lineup?
  22. I'd love to see it simply because Beyond Belief is my favorite book of all time (albeit i havent read much in my life but still thats beside the point). Pierre-Rios-Hamilton with Q DH'n???? sign me up but as numerous posters before said i just dont see it happening right now unless they have someone comin up they really wanna make room for or maybe they want to give Daniel or David Murphy (i get em mixed up) some time. Could you imagine if Q and Josh put um there 08 numbers in the same lineup....MERCY were talking 68/230
