I see a slight path for Gio, but JR would have to put his anti union feelings to rest. I think Gio would love to work with Katz. In fact, I think Flaherty may want that as well. 1 year contracts to see if they can make some cash.

I don't know why, if the money is the same, TA would pick the White Sox for 2024. They told him what they think. They are going to suck, and best case scenario is he plays well enough to get traded midseason. Why would you want that?

They could have had almost anyone they wanted when JR picked LaRussa. Now they are back to what they always will be with JR here, the redheaded stepchild of Chicago. They are the Angels without Ohtani or Trout.

They were rolling out getting some QB runs and moving the ball and scoring in the 1st half. Went back to having to win in the pocket in the 2nd and sucked.

According to Bob, the Sox tried to trade TA but could find no takers, and they have told teams they will listen on Cease. I think they finally realize how bad they really are.

Elvis was better at SS than TA. If they were to bring Elvis back to play SS, it would just show how gutless this entire organization was not to make the change during the season.

At first I thought take the chance, but after thinking about it, it’s exactly the type of thing the previous guys used to do and would get burned. Maybe he does come back and be the guy he was 3 years ago. So what would you get for him? Not enough to gamble $13 million on IMO. Clearly Getz knew no one would trade for him now.

TA wasn’t just bad at the plate. It’s a shame . Hopefully he can get his off the field issues straightened out. It’s now cost him millions.

She did build the Marlins into a playoff team. But there is no way JR is going to hire her to “oversee’ Getz. First, he’s already built Getz up as the genius in the room. Second, anyone from somewhere else would delay a turnaround, at least in JRs mind. Hiring her would contradict everything he said on this subject.

I bet the Braves in the late 80s wish they didn’t overthink it and drafter Frank Thomas instead of Tyler Houston. Frank has said the Braves were going to take him. As far as Vaughn is concerned, they did mess with him. They probably rushed him. Other scouts thought he was the second coming of Goldschmidt. Another said he was Konerko on steroids. Non White Sox guys. The thing that has really disappointed me is when he was drafted he had a reputation of having a great idea of the strike zone, and was willing to take walks. That seems to have been a miscalculation or just went by the wayside for some reason. Maybe he gets that back. But we are getting to the point where he is about to be what he is, and while not awful, not why you lose 99 games to acquire.

Madrigal obviously didn't work out, and eventually turned worse than having him. However, if you look at the 2018 draft, those drafted around him haven't exactly lit it up. You can say some guys picked way lower are doing well, but those guys weren't a consideration for the #3 pick by any team. Where the Sox really suck, is they find no diamonds in the rough. They get a high first rounder, he may contribute. They may get a reliever or two to contribute later in the draft, but historically, their first round pick is about it.

Have some patience. Korey Lee was in that draft.
