  1. $68 million a year is deferredL
  2. That's a valid point. We will find out in 2024. He was pretty good his last 40 games.
  3. If the problem with Moncada is attitude and effort, the next 2 seasons should be his best, as he will be playing for a $25 million option in 2024 or contract, and playing for a contract in 2025.Plus, he's in his peak years. So there's that.
  4. 100 is a ton of games to lose unless you are totally trying to do it. So much has to go wrong. I know the pitching staff will be below average, the offense will be below average, but even without Cease, I think they stay in double figures in the L column with improved defense.
  5. They have a Matt Nagy curse. It might be because all the other teams I love suck, but I'm starting to dig the Bears. If they only could have won 2 they almost had to try to lose to Denver and Detroit. They would be looking like perhaps a playoff team. The flus may save his job.
  6. I now see the logic of just promoting Getz. What a waste 2024 would be without Stassi, DsJong and Nicky Lopez.
  7. No, those are the catchers. For some reason, they love Korey Lee. He does have a nice arm.
  8. Yeah Grandal is why they sucked.
  9. It’s a low bar.
  10. Morosi seems like a nice guy, but he’s really awful as an “insider”.
  11. He has been, but missing a year, who knows? Sox catchers and SS have a real good chance of hitting below the Mendoza line with not many walks. I do think the improved defense will get them a couple more wins, but they are going to be very boring.
  12. I agree the only way MLB allows them to leave is if another team commits to taking their place. I do also think the Cubs getting Ohtani would be quite a blow to the White Sox It is hard for me to believe thee rest of baseball doesn't see how incompetently the White Sox haveww been run, and the potential to print money is there for an owner truly committed to winning. There really is no excuse the White Sox haven't dominated their division this century. A guy who just wanted to win and hired good people, not yes men, has so many advantages over all other ALC teams.
  13. There really hasn’t been big leaks of offers so I don’t know how you say they are using leaks to drive interest. Can you give an example? I’m guessing not. Using that logic, Ohtani is having a tough time getting legit offers. We heard he was signing before the winter meetings, then during them, then on a plane to Toronto.
  14. Give Jerry a break. Giving Machado 8 years would have really fucked up the 2026 seasaon.
  15. Jerry was nervous giving Michael Jordan $30 million.
  16. These guys are getting paid too much JR. It’s a bad business. Time to get out.
  17. From the piece, it wouldn't seem much, but if he's bad for a while, it will have to shrink. New team revenue from Japan. I guess the Angels were making a mint on Japanese advertising.
  18. It was, and they basically said that was minimum. Hes the closest thing to Michael Jordan MLB has had since Babe Ruth.
  19. Yes, and Japanese advertising, and maybe even some broadcast rights. He's less a gamble at $50-60 million than several of the Padres.
  20. I was watching something where he basically makes you at least $30 million a year just being on the roster.
  21. Our Chuck calling Whit and his 90 wRC+ solid offense shows how bad 2B has been for 15 freaking years.
