  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:19 PM) Yes they have a lot of bad players, but they also play the game incredibly stupid. It doesn't take skill to know how when to back up the catcher or when to throw to the lead base or not. Sale knows he is supposed to back up the play. He went back there but for some reason, the first base side. I don't see how his stupidity is on any coach or manager.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:17 PM) Beckham didn't play today, so maybe he said he's ready and he'll be activated tomorrow night. I think he was sceduled to take it off . It doesn't mean he is or isn't on his way to Seattle.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) Cause he is a terrible player. What I don't understand is you say the Sox are loaded with bad plyers. Have a lot of players who simply can't hit. Then say the coaches are responsible for the bad record. I really don't know of anyone who can coach bad players to a great result.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:07 PM) Why would Ventura want to come back next year? Why would anyone want him back? I would like to know of a guy who would have this roster playing a lot better right now. The Sox still have a chance even though one of the greatest teams, from what I have read here, ever assembled is in their division. He will be back. They wanted to give him an extension. He has a contract for next season.
  5. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 01:00 PM) I hate this kind of thing. It's a CYA move by Hahn. I actually agree with you. If Hahn wants to vaguely suggest someone is not giving the required effort, why hasn't this been already dealt with one way or another? Seems he may be suffering from a lack of effort as well.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:56 PM) Send him to AAA and stretch him out for when Peavy is traded. He doesn't need to be stretched out. He has shown he can throw triple figure pitches pretty quickly.
  7. Here come the Santiago excuses. He sucked today.
  8. Throw a strike.
  9. Hector Houdini so far.
  10. For the love of God Hector
  11. This umpire sucks.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:42 PM) Dunn just missed that, of course Usually he misses by quite a lot.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) Dayan had done quite a bit of movement too, levels and positions Gordon Beckham was moved around a lot too.
  14. Gimenez made that inning.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:31 PM) What player has had his role changed so many times in 1 1/3rd seasons in Sox history? Name him. His job is to get guys out. 2-0 and he is not in the stretch.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 06:25 PM) This was predictable. Those two sliders weren't well delivered. Stupid to start Jones this inning, just terrible managing. The excuses for Santiago are imcredible. Nothing is ever his fault. Walks a guy...he was in the stretch. Well, he better learn to throw strikes from the stretch. If he can't pitch effectively with runners on base, he isn't the HOFer some people seem to think he is.
  17. There's something about striking someone out with gas that makes it more legit. Getting blown away with gas, is way more demoralizing than missing a curve or change.
  18. I knew Keppinger was supposed to be below average defensively, but I had no idea this much below average.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) It's funny watching Wells try to hit RHP. Equally as amusing watching Keppinger with a glove.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) De Aza is not long for this organization if they're going to keep Viciedo in LF. Just like they knew Rios wasn't a CF, it seems they know he's not one either. He actually was doing pretty well out there last year until he said he preferred to play LF. Since that came out, he has looked pretty bad defensively. Even in LF.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Victor Martinez starting to heat up for DET. That's not a good sign. Well, we advanced the runner to 3rd. Need to get this back to a one-run game or... Yeah his OPS is almost.600.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) Gillaspie. A's announcers claiming Viciedo prefers to play 3B. Not 100% sure where they got that one. Colon first AL pitcher with two shutouts in a season at age 40 or older since Dennis Eckersley. 2nd oldest in OAK history to throw a shutout. Don Sutton beat the White Sox 18 years ago...was a bit older than Bartolo. Considering Eckersley didn't start a game after he was 32 years old, i think you have some bad info.

  24. If Thornton came in to start this inning and they scored, Ventura would have been roasted.
  25. A wasted performance. What a lost opportunity this week.
