  1. That’s a good point. It is really unbelievable how run down this organization is.
  2. The White Sox are doing this player a disservice calling him up. He is nowhere near ready.
  3. He has a .274 OBP in AA. Can’t wait to see him strikeout.
  4. Good teams find ways to win games. Bad teams find ways to lose them. This is a bad team.
  5. I know. I still don’t think the roster is at 40. Chances are, unless Frazier starts showing something, they bring Billy back IMO, if only to hang out, run, and play the OF late. I had hoped that the work they did with Frazier lit a bulb. He was once a really nice looking prospect, and has had some major league success. But he doesn’t appear to be a guy who can handle sporadic ABs, and probably isn’t good enough to be a regular. I do think finding him playing time over Billy could help the Sox in the long run if he can turn a corner, but it probably won’t happen and Sox brass still thinks they have a good team.
  6. Hopefully the sacks won’t be packed with seamen this afternoon.
  7. Back when Billy was a regular player the Reds worked long and hard with him on bunting. He's as bad of a buntet as he is a hitter.
  8. Remillard should retire. His career has peeked. Batting 1.000, driving in the tying run then the winning run……call it a career. It’s downhill from here. when they changed Fraziers stance it looked like they may have found something. Now it looks like he will be DFAd when they deem Billy good to go.
  9. It’s probably why they acquired him.
  10. Of course.
  11. Pedro managing this like a spring training game.
  12. I think that Robert AB was the most pathetic I have ever seen.
  13. That was quick.
  14. Connor McKight sounds a lot like Chip Caray to me.
  15. Dumbest team in baseball.
  16. For all the people who say you don’t draft 1B at the top of the draft, those 2 guys being picked was music to their ears. They suck.
  17. If someone told you the Sox would hit 6 homers and give up 8 runs in 2 games, it has to be close to 1000 to 1 they would lose both.
  18. The White Sox have too many stars of what would be a combine, and not enough guys who are just baseball players. They need several guys who understand and really know how to play and win a game. They might not be the fastest or have the most range or the best arm or be able to hit the ball the farthest, but they beat you because they don't make mistakes and stay disciplined. All these losses are so predictable because you see them over and over again. A baseball intelligent team doesn't have this happen continuously.
  19. Another thing is it’s a lot easier to adjust coverage when the team is out of season. The got rid of the White Sox beat writer in the middle of the season. When does that ever happen.? The Teibume went without a Sox beat writer for a while.
  20. Yes. It's like the terminal disease has now been found. It's just a matter of time.
  21. I'd be willing to bet if the White Sox were currently in first place, James Fegan would still be working at the Athletic, and some other beat writer would be jobless.
  22. Outside of Pittsburgh , there are very few people who give a rat's ass about Pirate news. They have no superstars. They don't generate interest. Just like the White Sox. Win/Loss record doesn't matter as much as interest, although the White Sox are one team that W/L is a good barometer of the interest.
  23. I really doubt his salary, considering his previous employment, was significant enough to be a deciding factor in his layoff. The guy got laid off because he covered a team not many people care to read about.
  24. Because replacing a beat writer midseason doesn't work very well, really makes the other person look bad, and Fegan would need to work on his contacts with other teams. And maybe they did, but perhaps he doesn't want to relocate. If he's one of the worst beat writers on the staff, everyone else is beyond outstanding. This guy is really good. I would say the best beat writer the Sox have had in a long time, and they have had several real good ones.
  25. Yes, I'm pleasantly surprised. I feared the worst with this one. Can't wait until he returns.
