Coppock gets out of the 1st with nothing. Good start.

Fire Rick Hahn
Hahn was talking about digging themselves out of a hole. If you fell into a hole, would you ask for a shovel to get out? Digging gets you a deeper hole.

Sox v Rangers Game Thread
If that call went against the White Sox, I'd be pissed. But I love it today, even though, it's pretty bad. And he wasn't even blocking the plate.

That was Bill Veeck.

Himes also drafted Ray Durham. He could actually play 2B.

The one time JR went out of his comfort zone and hired Larry Himes, it set the team up for years. He wound up hating Himes because Larry didn't want JR meddling. He has to see his way doesn't work.

White Sox’ trade-deadline decisions will depend on ability to compete in playoffs, not just for AL Central crown
They were already crying about the Sox "tough schedule" after the All Star break. Do playoff teams have everyone associated with them always point out stretches when they are playing good teams? If you can't beat a good team, how are you going to do in the playoffs?

My dad is a lawyer and he told me all about this years ago. If JR dies, the executor of his estate gets his power. These other partners have zero say officially. JR might take their advise, but he's under no obligation.

Reinforcing mediocrity. That's Rick's specialty. This current roster has been bad for a far longer time than it was good. Even when it was good, it was short. They can't be this dumb. They have to know, don't they?

This is one thing they always do right.

Nightengale: Several veterans in the White Sox organization have privately expressed that they would welcome a trade
I wonder who has to break the news to them that nobody wants them.

Grifol: 'If you don't like the lineups, talk to Jerry.'
Tanner Banks gets the start tonight. Game should be over by 7:30.

Grifol: 'If you don't like the lineups, talk to Jerry.'
In all fairness Pedro and his line ups aren’t the only reasons this team is bad. But he certainly isnt what we had hoped and what Rick and Kenny said he was. Nightengale wrote several Sox veterans want out. Good.

Rick still needs to go.

Grifol: 'If you don't like the lineups, talk to Jerry.'
Putting out the line up that will help them win? Is he aware of the results?

José Rodriguez promoted to big leagues
That’s a good point. It is really unbelievable how run down this organization is.
-
José Rodriguez promoted to big leagues
The White Sox are doing this player a disservice calling him up. He is nowhere near ready.

José Rodriguez promoted to big leagues
He has a .274 OBP in AA. Can’t wait to see him strikeout.

Sox vs. Seamen, Sunday version
Good teams find ways to win games. Bad teams find ways to lose them. This is a bad team.

Sox vs. Seamen, Sunday version
I know. I still don’t think the roster is at 40. Chances are, unless Frazier starts showing something, they bring Billy back IMO, if only to hang out, run, and play the OF late. I had hoped that the work they did with Frazier lit a bulb. He was once a really nice looking prospect, and has had some major league success. But he doesn’t appear to be a guy who can handle sporadic ABs, and probably isn’t good enough to be a regular. I do think finding him playing time over Billy could help the Sox in the long run if he can turn a corner, but it probably won’t happen and Sox brass still thinks they have a good team.

Sox vs. Seamen, Sunday version
Hopefully the sacks won’t be packed with seamen this afternoon.

Sox vs. Seamen, Sunday version
Back when Billy was a regular player the Reds worked long and hard with him on bunting. He's as bad of a buntet as he is a hitter.

Remillard should retire. His career has peeked. Batting 1.000, driving in the tying run then the winning run……call it a career. It’s downhill from here. when they changed Fraziers stance it looked like they may have found something. Now it looks like he will be DFAd when they deem Billy good to go.
