  1. Bruce actually pointed out to Hahn that the team has been mediocre at best a lot longer since they were the darlings of baseball. You don't get that much from local guys
  2. White Sox fans complain about Grandal, but if they didn’t sign him, they almost assuredly would have extended James McCann, and most would have been thrilled. Look at his numbers since leaving the White Sox. They look like his numbers before he came to the White Sox when he was so bad the Tigers non tendered him. Now he makes quadruple what they would have had to pay him.
  3. I don’t know. Pedro’s first ejection he told to umpire to go f*** himself several times
  4. Seby is really an awful hitter. His 3 HR game has to be one of the least likely occurrences in MLB history.
  5. You draft the guy that's going to be the best player. For the last 50 years, the Sox firstbaseman has usually been their best player.
  6. Frank Thomas says hi. Frank thought he would be a Brave but Scherholz decided what you said and drafted Tyler Houston.
  7. Gavin Sheets might be the second coming of Dan Pasqua.
  8. Aaron Rowand would have caught Miggys hit. He would have been out 6 weeks though.
  9. Eloy is nursing a leg injury. Go figure. This pitcher had an ERA over 6 in AAA
  10. Eloy is nursing a leg injury. Go figure. This pitcher had an ERA over 6 in AAA
  11. The next time they are within 5 of .500 will be Opening Day next season.
  12. I'm not going to fault them for putting Liam on the roster, but Crochet with the MLB team just reeks of desperation. Bummer has struggled. Diekman was a Rick Hahn deal. It made no sense last year and to have to pay him for this season.....If he had a reliable lefty or two in the bullpen, Crochet would be working things out in Charlotte. But let him get killed here. .
  13. He was on the Dodgers last year. Had worse numbers than he did with the White Sox. Could only get a minor league deal. His OPS against lefties, considering he's 30 and his career OPS+ is only 80, isn't going to stay at 1.100. He is a dime a dozen guy. The choice was Elvis or him. They are paying Elvis more, and Elvis can still play a decent SS. They made the right choice.
  14. But he's a spring training all star. What will be interesting is what they do when Hamilton is ready. If Frazier keeps hitting, I don't know how they pick Billy over him.
  15. Of course Caulfield has a friend who uses malfeasance when discussing baseball. Liam is obviously not in midseason form. Would have liked Pedro to have used him in the blowout Wednesday. He needs to pitch. I don’t know how it’s fair to him or anyone else to use him in tight games when he’s not near peek form yet.
  16. Of course. And they are going to have to hire someone with a clue of how to put together a winning MLB roster. These dopes play the lottery every year. It worked once.
  17. The problem is he couldn’t build a team around those guys even though they were playing for peanuts. He did a great job getting them signed, no question. Their surplus value got him more prospects who he couldn’t build around either. There seems to be a pattern.
  18. Sale, Q, and Eaton all made less than half what the Sox will pay Moncada next year. Eaton 4 years almost as much as Eloys last season by itself. Young players aren’t giving the bargains they used to give. Good for them. Bad for frugal organizations like the White Sox.
  19. Hahn also brings up playing better in May. They were 15-14,. Pretty mediocre. And have to do a lot better than that just to sniff .500 overall.
  20. The thing is, those types of team friendly deals are a thing of the past. Now you get the Eloy, Moncada, Robert type deals. Those don't create a lot of surplus unless the guy is a perennial all star performer.
  21. They have Cease, and a bunch of crap to trade. Maybe Robert. You would have to think Robert on a rebuilding team would make Claudell Washington 's playing style look like Pete Rose. They both have some warts. They can't draft at all. So if they decided to rebuild again, and didn't get rid of Hahn and KW and Chris Getz, there is almost a zero chance JR at 87 years old, would ever see the White Sox end a season above .500 again.
  22. I just went back and and looked. The Sox were 19-12 their last 31 before the AS break in 2021. That makes them an even 162-162 the last 2 years. Mired in mediocrity.
