Burger To Marlins
The one thing I liked about Jake was he was different from White Sox prospects. These guys are almost always all the same. Saladino, Yolmer, Remilard....ultimately the same guy. Yeah he struck out too much. Yeah, he probably will never win a GG. Yeah, he could get on base more, but...he barely has 1000 plate appearances as a pro, and he's already hitting homers like few others. Chances are, unlike the typical White Sox, he wont peak until the usual time.

Rangers should provide steep discounts for today's Sox lineup
This team gave up weeks ago. I don't know how they spin bringing Pedro back when the team quits to this extent. JR isn't going to sell, I don't want him to die, how about doing the noble thing and step aside as the managing partner? It's not working. Get someone who has the balls to get rid of all the people whose decision making and lack of job performance have cost him money the past 18 years.

I don’t think Burger took any shots at the White Sox. He almost cried talking about being traded. He loved being a White Sox.

Dunning / Lynn trade revisited
In 2021 we thought, even those who were at first very skeptical, that Hahn made a great trade as Lynn was a Cy Young contender and the White Sox were winning. Hindsight will tell you the Sox would most likely have still won the division had they not made this trade. The same thing applies to Liam Hendriks, who was great as a White Sox. They could have had a mediocre closer in 2021, and won the division. They might not have been .500 last year, but who cares? And now? All this shows is the importance of drafting, international signings and development. The White Sox have been godawful at it for a long time, and won't have a legitimate chance of sustained winning and multiple championships until they do. They can be mediocre and catch lightning in a bottle here and there, but it's the same old same old until they fix what really ails them.

If this was Guardianstalk, I think most of us would be a bit pissed.

8/1- White Sox at Rangers, 7:05
It really doesn’t look like many of these guys want to play tonight.

Seby looks like a 55 year old guy at the batting cages when he’s batting.

any time you’d like to score a run….that would be great.

Fire Rick Hahn
Deadline has passed. Can you fire Rick now?

8/1- White Sox at Rangers, 7:05
MLB has been trending using the 2 spot in the line up as the new 3 spot. Pedro has been using it as the new 8 hole

Ozzie just said the pressure in on the development guys.

Grade Rick Hahn's Trade Deadline Performance
Obviously it depends how these players turn out. A lot of people in the industry think they are future contributors, so that’s good for free agents to be on a non contending team. The Burger trade, for me was bad because I like watching him play. The guy they got for him could be good, and we all know they need pitching. One thing I find worrying is every pitcher they acquired seems to have issues with walks.

Burger almost broke down talking about be traded.

Burger To Marlins
This one makes me sad even though it may turn out OK. Jake was fun, and he was starting to take walks.

He's also a far superior talent than anyone they will acquire. Trading him now would be dumb. The only people who would like it are those who would enjoy rebuilding every year. At least if they are trying to win, there is some pressure on the front office.

The guys you trade for can suck, and also get hurt.

Robert isn't any of those guys. And he's signed longer.
-
Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves
Funny thing is, the guys you complain about were the guys the Sox got dumping their good players before. Robert is on another planet.

Trading Robert now will only backfire. They have him. They have Montgomery. Gonzalez looks like a solid draft pick. They should land a real good player next draft. They have Cease. If Liam is OK, he's pretty good. You don't have to be really great to make it interesting in the AL Central. Maybe Colas develops. Maybe these catchers turn out OK. Maybe Vaugh breaks out. Maybe, and this is a stretch, Eloy can DH 140 games., There is no reason an average GM and front office couldn't make this team an 82-87 win team. And that should be good enough.

If you think this White Sox front office won’t be able to field a competitive team in the AL Central for the duration of Roberts contract, why would you want to see what the same dopes could trade him for now?

Just never rip Worth. It’s the most important town in IL. Without it the state would be Worthless.

Crochet wants to be a SP
He was hurt, but got back just when the college season paused. So theoretically, he was healthy. Then he pitched at the alternate site without incident. He then was lights out for 6 innings, then got hurt in the playoffs. If the guy can't pitch 6 innings, again, how can he be a starter?

Crochet wants to be a SP
I think he showed he was. He went to the alternate site and threw. But, in the playoff game, hurt again.

Crochet wants to be a SP
17 games they played in the season. Crochet pitched 3 innings of relief because he began the season with a sore shoulder. If Crochet was not hurt, explain a future MLB ace pitching only 3 innings of relief and only making 1 appearance in those 17 games, with 42 pitches.
