Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
If you look at Jose's comments during spring training, it's obvious they told him or his agent the plan. Letting him go is the right thing. He's 36, at least. Expensive, and could go downhill at any moment. Time to let Vaughn play where he is supposed to play. Sorry to see Jose go, but it's time.

Retiring #79
79 isn't a popular number. A case can be made either way. I don't think the Sox will officially retire it, but like 13, won't let anyone wear it.

10/4- Twins at Sox, 7:10
I think the new shift rule next year can backfire. You can have all the infielders legal and move the LF to short RF. It's a bigger payoff if they hit it rge other way, but will have to probably have to get it in the air.

White Sox Mgr Speculation Thread
We've had first time managers, managers with a lot of experience, HOF baseball person....they all make mistakes. To think there is going to be one guy who can come in here and do everything like everyone wants it to be done is silly. And they all will eventually make mistakes. They need someone who can make these guys play hard and be engaged in winning, and can run a bullpen. Bochy would be fine. I'd take Sandy in a heartbeat, although there must be some reason he never gets a job.

Will "core" players be traded before Spring Training?
One guy I would think about trading is Hendriks. He's been great. Love him as a person and player but................the Sox would have won the divison without him in 2021 and would have been bad, like they were, without him in 2022. He's clearly in pain pitching now. The pitch clock next year may really bother him, as he will have less recovery time. And he should be worth something.

LaRussa retiring on Monday
I wonder since they plan to hold players more accountable next season, if that same policy will go up the flag pole to the top.

How that can be a double is beyond me.

10/2- Sox at Padres, 3:10
Moncada now 0 for 11 with 9 strikeouts vs. Snell. Why he is batting second is anyone's guess, but Cairo can't be the guy making out the line up next year.

10/1/22 Sox @ Padres 7:40 Forget It, They're Rolling Gamethread
Moncada is 0 for 10 with 8 strikeouts vs. Snell. So he bats 2nd. Sorry Miguel, you are no longer a candidate.

LaRussa retiring on Monday
While I will not doubt Tony has a pacemaker, and it may have had some issues, I do think there is more to this story than that. There are hundreds of thousands of people with pacemakers. They aren’t told to immediately quit their job, but it’s still OK to sort of do your job, like Tony was watching games and consulting with Cairo. But I will take it. 2 years probably wasted. At least one for sure. Get someone who actually doesn’t think results are too easy.

LaRussa retiring on Monday
After this last experience, I do think managers matter. I don’t like Tony. Couldn’t stand him his first tour with the team. The DUI to me was just another opportunity for an out the Sox had realizing this idea was bad. Just listen to Tony when he was hired and watch an old clip when he was with the Cardinals, A’s and White Sox in the 80s. It’s night and day. These players had basically the equivalent of a substitute teacher, like when we all were kids, as a full time manager.

Fire Rick Hahn
He fired Himes because A. he didn't like him personally, and B. Himes tried to keep him out of the decision making. Himes got fired after winning 94 games with the lowest payroll in baseball.

Morrissey must be reading fan comments here...
That's why i would wait to see how Yas' legs are in spring training. He was a pretty effective hitter not too long ago, and has been better as of late. I think his OBP the last month or so is around .365.
