  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) he went for stitches. He also has at least 1 black eye, another report says 2. Considering he chased after Zambrano, it doesn't appear he fared very well.
  2. Greg Walker wll miss today's game to attend his daughter's high school graduation. The Sox will score 10 runs minimum in his absence.
  3. I love sweet Lou. Remember when he went at it with Dibble when they were with the Reds?
  4. I wouldn't say "just a sprain". Sprains can be pretty bad.
  5. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) He walked off the field, and went into the dugout and had a few words with Barrett, and then just took a swing at him and they started going after each other. Barrett was just protecting himself. Zambrano was getting rocked, I guess he just snapped. His market value is going DOWN!! If they could sign him, I'd trade any pitcher on the White Sox for him.
  6. Maybe Zambrano "bonded" with AJ when they shot that commercial together.
  7. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He f***ing took a shot at him right in the dugout, theyy had to break him and Barrett up. He is a f***ing nut job!! And we think the Sox have problems!! hahahaha He's nuts but so is Barrett.
  8. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) Rowand could actually have a positive effect on Crede-they were close. Its a move that could be a benefit-we do have bullpen pitchers to send them that we could replace. Why would that be? Crede has his best season with Rowand in Philadelphia.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:36 PM) FoxSports Link Um, you also missed the few weeks Thome missed, and according to the stats, at the time he went down, he was generating more runs/game than any other player in baseball, Bonds and ARod included. Well he's back and the've lost 5 in a row.
  10. Detroit loses Kenny Rogers, Zumaya, and Rodney and they still keep winning. Minnesota is struggling a bit but has a payroll many millions below the White Sox, they lose Liriano and Mauer and kick the Sox ass. The Sox get the back-up catcher hurt, Pablo Ozuna hurt and a $1 million guarantee player like Erstad injured who gets hurt every year, and Pods another perrenial injury is out and they look like they may just prove BP's 72-90 PECOTA projection correct. If the Sox fail this year, injuries shouldn't be an excuse.
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) Well he never had any "pop" in his bat. This should've been expected, but at least the Sox have some options in the minor leagues. I couldn't imagine what would happen if Iguchi or Uribe suffered an injury this serious. Andy Gonzalez my man. He was hitting a solid .240 in Charlotte with no power when he got the call. He's due.
  12. Since Ozzie said Mack isn't going to play CF any more, unless you are making Terrero a regular, if Owens is coming up, he's going to have to see time in CF. I know people on this site have seen Owens and swear he's not a CF and I believe them. I also heard KW call Owens a CF at Soxfest 2006. So once again, he may not care what the rest of the world thinks, his s***ty scouts say the guy is a CF so he's a CF. He can't be worse in CF than Carl Everett in 2003, can he? I do hope whatever happened to Erstad isn't career ending, but it was a loud pop and he was in pain. I can't imagine him being back for a long time. He does play the game right and even if you don't think he's any good, you have to admire how he plays. I wish him a speedy recovery.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) That's true at least. I wonder if Ozzie will mention him being prone to the longball as why we lost tonight. The best excuse I ever heard for a loss was by Jaime Navarro crying about run support in a game he lost 11-9.
  14. Well at least Buerhle won't lose a 1 hitter.
  15. QUOTE(SnB @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) wtf did hawk just say? I spun my head around when I heard 'al queda'? He's says it the terrorists fault the Sox can't hit. Its Al Queda's fault the middle relievers won't throw a strike. The terrorists have won.
  16. He went to the clubhouse when Buerhle took one off the hand.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) what a bogus effort by a bogus team tonight. To me IMO, Erstad blew his achilles (sp?) That's what I thought at first, but Hawk came back from the clubhouse and said whatever it was probably wasn't broken because the pain had subsided.
  18. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) I actually like Erstad, I thought he was doing a good job in center and leading off. I never like to see any player get hurt. Hopefully it isn't too bad of an injury!! Looking at it, you really can't see anything going wrong. But I heard a pop, and he was hurting. I can't see him playing for quite some time. KW will tell you exactly what he thinks of this team when he wrangles up a replacement.
  19. I just hope when its all said and done they don't use the Erstad injury as a reason for a not so great season. Detroit has had some injuries and so has Minnesota. Glad to see Hawk is back on the umpires tonight.
  20. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 31, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) HELLO???? What happened to Ersty? He swung and missed. There was a popping sound and he hit the ground. Its either a hamstring, knee, ankle or achilles injury. He was carried off the field. He will not be playing for a while.
  21. Its not as if an Erstad season-ending injury would or should be a shock to anyone. Playing him everyday was just living on borrowed time.
  22. As the grinder's grinder's season comes to its predictable early end. I hope its not too bad, but I bet its an ankle or achilles.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Looks like my nickname is catching on! I'm already sick of hearing the excuses for his bad play when he returns.....and it hasn't even happened yet. Its genius.
  24. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 31, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) For what it's worth Pods is to go for an MRI Monday and if all goes well (which is expected) begin a rehab assignment next week. If the White Sox are counting on anything from Barbaro the rest of this season, they need to go to therapy.
  25. QUOTE(Steff @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) I've heard the sound bites several times this morning and, IMO, he's not even close to having a towel in his hand much less throwing it anywhere. He's pissed at the play on the field and stated several times he is not going to put up with it. The comment about him being fired was, IMO, not a request but a (sic) "...if I'm not doing the job and there is someone better then bring them in...." Its one thing to say you're not going to put up with it....its another thing not to put up with it. Its been going on for 130 games now, I wonder when he's going to do something about it.
