  1. According to the Southtown, reports that McCarthy is starting Saturday are erroneous.
  2. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:32 AM) everett will do fine in right field, i keep getting confused as to who is throwing off the mound today I don't know why Ozzie has to get Everett in these games. Its not like he's tearing the cover off the ball. Maybe Podsednik needs a rest. Dye is finally getting some hits, so it would be a horrible time to sit him. Everett's numbers are earily similar to his rather unimpressive numbers of last season.
  3. Hermanson has an ERA of 0.00. That's ineffective? The writer of this article needs to find a new profession.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 20, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) Tribune is saying the wind will be blowing out to right field. I really hope Everett isn't playing tomorrow. Dye is swinging the bat much better than Everett is right now, and there's no reason to put our defense at such a disadvantage. Wind will be blowing in from RF, even more reason to have Everett sitting next to Harold.
  5. The wind is supposed to be blowing in today. Brandon's weakness this year has been the longball. I read all of his homeruns allowed were in Charlotte's bandbox. The wind is supposed to be blowing out on Sunday. Of course that would be bad for Contreras, another guy who will give up a long ball.
  6. BMac is going to get to hit against the Messiah. Maybe he'll take him deep.
  7. QUOTE(Cy Garland @ May 20, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) Futuresox? Maybe its the guy Offman has staked out at the Ottawa airport.
  8. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 20, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) Bruce Levine was the first to report the rumor and Offman reported McCarthy boarding a plane. EDIT: Perhaps I should just congratulate Jason as that seems to be the trend. Levine said he heard rumors but backed away from them. The guys here verified. Offman with his getting on a plane BS is full of just that, BS. He came up with that AFTER it was posted here that BMac was scratched. Offman NEVER comes up with his own stuff. His "sources" are Levine, other media members and the people with sources on these boards.
  9. On the local Chicago news at 6, nobody had anything on this. It will be interesting to see it mentioned on all of the broadcasts at 10. You guys were their source.
  10. It really doesn't matter to me who starts Sunday. Either El Duque or BMac should do well. I just hope that if there's an issue with El Duque it is only minor. If they were to lose him for any great length of time, they would lose far more than his pitching.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 20, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Your friendly neighborhood Charlotte Knights boxscore. http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/st...chraaa_ottaaa_1 Arnie did pretty well in his spot start.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 20, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) It is? No mention on the radio, WSI, or whitesox.com. That's the strange thing. It isn't anywhere, except Levineline heard the rumor, and McCarthy was supposedly scratched from his start, which I believe someone on here confirmed Munoz started tonight.
  13. It could be a lot of things. El Duque may have a flu or something, and they might not want to burn the bullpen so they bring BMac up, send down Walker. Maybe they are holding BMac out as a precautionary measure just to see if El Duque recovers by Sunday. Hopefully, it isn't anything serious with El Duque. BMac is great a fallback, and would become an instant hero if he shut down the Cubs. I just worry if El Duque is lost, Contreras may revert to his previous form.
  14. If Munoz started, BMac must be in on Sunday. I think its actually a pretty good situation for him. Against the Cubs, not the best offensive team in the world. Opposed by the Messiah. Nobody would ever think he could win. Hopefully, he'll be the BMac of Tucson.
  15. I think that game should have started by now. Does anyone have access to it?
  16. Is it true that BMac is being held out of his start tonight? There are rumors that he's not starting tonight, and pitching Sunday instead of El Duque.
  17. Cub fans are pretty lame. I was wearing a Sox hat and sweatshirt, and the only thing said to me, and said at least 25 times was "Sox suck". I just laugh at them and it pissed them off. Every stand outside the Urinal sells Sox Suck shirts, and there must be 50 people hawking SUX shirts around the outside of that park. I thought the Cubs fans didn't even think about the Sox. Aren't Sox fans supposed to be obsessed with the Cubs?
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Jimenez wore out his welcome in the last few days in Cincy With him its always just a matter of time before he wears out his welcome. Its too bad because the guy has a lot of talent.
  19. Does anyone what Ozzie was talking to the home plate umpire about between 3 or 4 innings? I would imagine he was reminding him the Garcia was going to pitch their hitters inside so he wouldn't get tossed from the game and suspended.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 20, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) How'd Borowski do today? I get a feeling he will play a big part later in the series. He may have gone unscathed today, but Crede's ball is on Waveland most days. Pods K'd but he was irritated. I was sitting about 10 rows behind home plate and Joe looked very hittable and wasn't throwing very hard.
  21. He's an idiot no doubt about it. But in this case he probably is referring to being able to keep your muscles loose which is a lot easier to do in the heat. I
  22. Eric Chavez will not be playing for the White Sox anytime soon.
  23. There is no way the White Sox are going to add $10 million to their payroll. Attendance hasn't improved that much.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 19, 2005 -> 07:59 AM) Well, they suck right now but will probably be good in the future with their young talent. Maybe Beane wants to dump his contract so he can clear up some money for the future? Here's the thread from the MLB.com A's board... "Eric Chavez to the Whitesox?" http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/mb/message.asp...g=36586.1&ctx=0 Keep in mind it's a MLB.com board and they are filled with lying trolls. This has to be BS. Why would Beane trade the only star that actually signed an extension with him, and get Crede who if he does any good will never be able to be signed in Oakland, remember he is represented by Boras, and minor leaguers he had no interest in when he was trading his rotation? The person who posted this has a generic handle, so its probably someone trying to get a rise out of people.
  25. Let's get real on the value of these 2. First Ben Davis. He was a throw- in by these same Mariners last year, and hasn't played well enough to be in the major leagues. Jaime Burke has been available to Seattle 2 or 3 times for the $20,000 waiver price. They passed both times. I know their circumstance has changed, but there is no way in hell they are going to give up a decent relief pitcher for either of these guys.
