It depends on the cost. Escobar is the guy I wanted. But maybe they have another guy coming with a reliever.

The question is if the Sox trade for Story will not cishek delete his no big fish tweet like he did others thar suggest he isn't quite what he claims?

Leury hit an unsustainable tremendous since Madrigal went down. Mendick can't hit at all. They are really going to regret not filling that hole if they pass. One can hope the reason Escobar isn't a White Sox is because someone better is coming.

Which means he is due for a hot streak.

From the discussion yesterday it is now being reported that if the Padres want Gallo, takimg Hosmer is a good start. They will even include a top prospect.

Probably getting to the point they need to get guys some breaks and maybe if they get a reliever get Kopech a few starts.

Pineda may be 6’7” across as well. I was at a game earlier this year and he was pitching against Lynn, a rather large man. He made Lynn look like a little boy with a beard.

The price isn’t going to be too high. The price is too high to count on Leury and Mendick.

We will see. He only has to worry about a couple of pitches. There is a long line of busted starters that became really good relievers including the Sox current closer.

But that is BS too. They have brought plenty in. Worrying you might disrupt chemistry so you don’t improve the team will blow up in your face.

There is no excuse not to get another 2B.

No one reads these boards, so no worries.

If Not Cishek guessed right and the Sox traded Lopez for Tepera, JR will be dancing on the streets. The Sox would be cutting payroll.

This guy tries so hard to sound like he actually has sources.

That's been the rumor for days.

I think one thing they have to do is get Bummer fixed. If he is fixed, Hendriks, Bummer,Kopech is about as nice of a back end of a bullpen as you can find. Heuer getting fixed would help a lot. Maybe they have something with Lopez in the bullpen. He hasn't looked so bad. But they do need to add.

Worth the gamble, but I don't think he will ever live up to his billing. He was awful in AAA as well as the majors.

In a playoff series, who knows? Bucky Dent and Brian Doyle have been postseason legends. In 2000, Frank Thomas and Paul Konerko were 0 fer. But, IMO, you are right, there is no way the team should settle for Leury when there are a lot of other options available.

Yes, it’s to save a little cash, maybe even do the player a little solid and get him in a playoff race, and hope a lotto ticket produces something. Sometimes they do, most of the time they do not. Bagwell and Smoltz a couple of the better ones.

It also was Kenny Williams playing CF who was pretty excited about it.

I think Tony said Engel was a bit banged up, and wasn’t going to play back to back.

I told you when he was hired Tony doesn’t GAF about OF defense, at least to start a game. He actually had Ron Kittle in CF once.

Right.

You want a government handout? But as to your question, I think it's coming as soon as the check from Mexico for the wall clears.

Yes, eventually these teams will see that not paying some these guys to play meaningless games the rest of the year is actually a decent deal.
