  1. No one jis asking you. They did win a WS with 5 non pitchers being above average. At least be consistent. You are b****ing about someone's opinion of Eaton trying to use bWAR as the end all but on another thread telling us Brad Hand is awful just because you say so.
  2. JR wasn't paying for an above average guy soo they got the closest thing.
  3. Is essentially the exact same offensive production that netted the Sox Giolito, Lopez and Dunning.
  4. Isnt the biggest proof the Dems didn't rig the election McConnell and Graham are staying on? These people are crazy. The pillow guy yesterday said Fox News was in on it and the proof was their early call for Biden in AZ. He does know network calls are not binding I think.
  5. Ozzie Guillen got Mark Kotsay over Jim Thome.
  6. Florida star Keontae Johnson in critical condition after collapsing on the court today. Don’t know what the cause was but he did have Covid earlier.
  7. Something like $55 million came off the books. I saw on here there is a $24 million increase with arbitration and rates, and they have added $16 million with Eaton and Lynn.
  8. I bet he goes to 33, McCanns old number. I think 13 is unofficially retired.
  9. Eaton’s injury prone rep is a little overblown. His 2017 injury was slipping on a wet base, and his 2018 injury was a surgery to clean a flap in his ankle which appears to have happened on the same play. You then look at his 2019 season. Compare his 2019 numbers to his numbers his last 2 seasons with the White Sox, they are almost identical. Defensively he has slid a bit. Maybe coming back and exclusively playing RF will get him back a bit. He does play hard, and is basically playing for his career.
  10. Plus they haven’t had a game in 9 months. They still are going to suck, but not as bad as last night.
  11. The Sox are so screwed with James McCann. Start the rebuild.
  12. The Astros are trying to win and they let Springer walk. The Dodgers are trying to win and they traded Joc last year and let him walk this year. That has nothing to do with it. The last time the game was normal, Adam Eaton was the starting RF, and of the World Champions, and he damn near was the WS MVP.
  13. If you read Soxtalk the AL MVP probably should be James McCann. The NL MVP probably should be Joc Pederson.
  14. He is a fucking catcher. He isn’t going to make a 2 run difference a game.
  15. It helped that he was Giolito's personal catcher. I am guessing his CERA goes up and Grandal's goes down if they caught the games the other one caught.
  16. Of course the Sox have spent poorly. $13 million for Alonso and Jay in a season you had no intention of winning. Could have saved that money and spent it, I don't know, this year? And that is just one example of the stupid signings they make year after year.
  17. It will always end ugly with DD. His philosophy seems to be prospects are for trading. So you wind up with a roster full of bloated contracts and not much on the farm. But I do think the Phillies will get some good years from him.
  18. The Marlins won the WS when their owner bought a shitload of players. After the win , they got rid of everyone. In Detroit, he won but he had Illich's open checkbook, and had an open checkbook with the Red Sox. If JR was a spender, I think he would be fine, and that is not a knock at DD because some guys can't win no matter how much you let them spend. I think the guy would struggle with a tight budget, depending on prospect development.
  19. It isn't that bad, but I understand the frustration. So many times we hear the Sox say or act like they are going for it and they always fail to go after the jugular. It's always such half assed. Go for it. Sign Springer or Bauer. Demoralize the rest of the division. They aren't going to break the investors. If they are, just sell the team if you need the money.
  20. I think Bryant is going to the Mets. He'll be paid Cano's money.
  21. I don't know. In 2017 he hit a wet base. That could happen to anyone. i now read his ankle issue in 2018 may have initially been caused by his 2017 tumble. 2020 he broke a finger on a bunt. If you look at his 2019 numbers and his last 2 seasons with the White Sox, offensively he was he same player. He's not George Springer. He isn't going to potentially hit you 35 homers like Joc, but there are hundreds of worse ways the Sox have spent $8 million.
  22. While it would never happen anyway, I think Grandal has a no trade.
