That's a good point, but I don't think anyone should buy the reason he hasn't played in 3 years is because he sucks. To deny he was blackballed, isn't being realistic.

It is starting to become evident that the Mack trade was genius in more ways than one. It got a generational talent on the team and rid Ryan Pace of the opportunity to waste high first round picks on offensive players who can't play.

You There are a lot of guys picking up NFL paychecks that have performed worse than him at his worst. One even starts for a team some thought were SB bound 7 weeks ago.

Cohen averaged 5.2 yards per touch under old school, game passed him by John Fox. He is averaging 4.5 this year under offensive guru Nagy. The offense started sputtering near the end of last season, and has been as awful through the first 6 games as any Bears team since 1975. I mentioned a while ago, a friend of mine who knows football as well as anyone I know told me the league caught up to Nagy, and the guy admittedly has no answers. That is not good. What a difference a year makes. On the bright side personally, I am in the 500s on the season ticket wait list. 2020 is now a distinct possibility.

I have no idea.I did expect him to be better than he was this year. The fact is, their defense was bad this year, and their upgrades so far are to their better defensive guys. I think Anderson can be elite defensively, but until he is, he’s not. RF may be shitty again, we have no idea. You would think it would be an upgrade, but shitty might actually be an upgrade from what was out there in 2019. I give this front office no credit until they earn it. Many front offices, you could assume would address the problem in a big way. This one, not so much. I look at some of the supposedly available guys, and see a lot of average at best gloves if that. A lot of warts on the free agents.
-
We have no idea who is playing RF, and although I thin pk TA is potentially a tremendous defensive SS, he isn’t there yet.
-
The problem is they are replacing 2 of the better defenders on the team.

Over 30 pitcher. Boras client. Only wants tons of money and a lot of years. This has White Sox written all over it.

i am sure he will opt out and sign a record setting deal with the White Sox. It's pretty much guaranteed.

Steve Stone not returning to the booth next season???
Dick Allen replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am not so sure either, and dialing back the ball may be a huge mistake. Except for home runs, hitting is harder than ever. You rarely face the same pitcher more than twice in a game. Seeing 95 MPH fastballs with movement is common. Dylan Covey throws 95 MPH sinkers and he is meat. If a lot of the home runs become fly outs, MLB will have another problem on their hands. -

What would you expect on Twitter. If he doesn’t like it, he cancels his account. As long as he keeps up what he has been doing lately, the only conclusion one could make is he is looking for it. -

A snippet from Jim O'Donnell's sports media column in the Daily Herald. It would be interesting if Stone fled JR and went to his crosstown rivals after telling everyone just how much better he is than anyone: Why are there so many rumors flying around the White Sox broadcast scheme for 2020? It goes beyond Ed Farmer's health. (Tweet-intense Steve Stone would be an intriguing "get" for the Cubs Marquee Sports Network.) -
I would think he would take any lessons learned with him. But I do agree his coming to Chicago seems silly to even consider.

The thought is the Angel's will sign Cole. He supposedly lives 7 miles from their park and Moreno isn't afraid to spend money. Although it is hard to see them spending what is going to take considering what the owe Pujols and Trout. You are really playing with payroll fire being that top heavy.

Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams
Dick Allen replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Money and winning are what attracts. The Sox usually come up short with both. It would be very unusual for a major free agent to take significantly less money to come to a team with the White Sox recent history. MLB players love Chicago. They couldn't care less about Bridgeport. They just drive there 81 times a year. They don't live there. I'm pretty sure most Sox players live in those buildings built on that old par 3 golf course by Randolph and Wacker and Columbus. I'm sure they would prefer to play in a full stadium, but the amount of their paycheck trumps that. And there is no problem with Guaranteed Rate Field. The playing surface is supreme, the clubhouse new, and other amenities, modern. Unless it's a flyball pitcher, something the Sox probably wouldn't bother to pursue, the stadium is not an issue. And endorsement money with MLB players pales in comparision to those in other sports. Yet, in Chicago, even with the Sox, you probably have a chance to make more money off the field than many other places. -
I can't see them spending that much in one offseason. I think we will be lucky if it's $110 million.
-
Take it for what it's worth, which is quite possibly nothing, but a guy who may or may not be a White Sox insider says keep on eye on Mad Bum.
-
I don't know who you are, and am quite happy about it.

Adding a lot to the thread. Again.

Nice. Don't you have another move? It's the same thing every post. You cry about every post. Say the internet is weird, and then do it again, day after day after day. Apparently, telling people off on the internet makes up for what probably goes on in real life.

Do you ever actually post about baseball, or just critique posts?

Rumor: Reinsdorf aims to build second place teams
Dick Allen replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The White Sox put themselves in this situation. It's on them to get themselves out. Go back to the first few years JR owned the team. The White Sox had the better fan numbers. Now, they win the WS the other team loses 100 games, and they still get clobbered at the gate. It's time for JR to take his cash and call it a day. He had a good run, but it's passed him by. That goes for the Bulls too.
