Dick Allen

I don't think so. I think the price for the next tier of catcher is probably higher than we think.

I don't think the downgrade from hopefully Stephenson to Bart will cost the White Sox a WS.

He's better than Drew Romo who has 8 singles in 134 AB and hasn't hit a homer in 2 months.

The Rays have had a good deadline.

It's much more fun when your favorite team is buying and not selling. Of course it would even be more fun if your team wasn't owned by Jerry Reinsdorf.

Even his big offensive season was barely above average. I agree, he's Adam Engel Jr., and we know what happened to him when he started getting hurt.

not too worried about framing anymore.

Not getting another catcher today would be a dereliction of duty..

Probalby owed over $50 million the rest of this year and next. No chance it was JR.

There must be something else going on that will make this make a little sense.

If the plan is to send him to Charlotte, it will be interesting to see how he fares. Many times, a guy who has been in the major leagues for several years feels sorry for himself, and falls off another cliff.

I wonder if the Sox think the clock might of hit midnight on Tristan Peters.

Neither has Brenton Doyle.

negative bWAR.

Unless he is part of the deal, Quero is starting to hit a little bit. I'd keep him as the back up. I don't know how much longer they can have Romo, an automatic out in the line up. Initially, he at least hit some long balls, but hasn't for a couple of months.

I don't think the Sox will get him. He's not a rental. The Angels want a ton.

I think a SP a catcher and they trade Hays.

The Sox once added Charles Johnson as a deadline rent a catcher. He was spectacular/

I do think he has improved. Still too many cringe moments for me. He seemed upset they were making fun of him for dropping nachos. His South Side, stand up, was ridiculous when he used it after a Spring Training game the year they set a record for losses. But now, it would be great. He needs to take it out of the mothballs. Maybe like their alternate uniforms, they don't want to be South Side, anymore.

Despite his age, he makes nothing, and isn't a FA for a while. Probably will blow up eventually, but is having a hot year.

Hoping he is just not feeling well. Trading him when they finally seem to have a RF answer would sadden me.

Maybe the Sox see something they can fix. The problem is, it has to be immediate. At least Sir Anthony is gone. He ruined my day a few times.

The bottom line is they should be buying something, or it will show the players the front office doesn't believe in them. But trading their best prospects at this point would be shortsighted. A year from now, that could be very different.

According to Bob, the Sox are telling teams they won't trade any of their top 10 prospects, but will assume money. It seems to be a reasonable stavce.

Colson seems to be a lot better at SS when he plays there regularly.
