Renteria's finest moment had to be the very first pitch after he took over when Albers blew Miggy away. He didn't have to come out and say anything to Matt, you know it was just there. If Ventura is still in the dugout there is probably a 92.75-97.45% chance Miggy homers there. I do think on that play Melky screwed up, then Frazier blew the tag, Robin must have announced his presence in between innings. No way a Renteria run ball club messes up like that. Will Rick Hahn see the light and do what he has to do? His choices are vie for the playoffs with Renteria, are gather another protected draft pick with Ventura. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:50 AM) So you still think the Sox would have won had Ventura remained in the game? His biggest supporter around here didn't believe this to be the case...thought we would lose regardless of who was managing. Of course they would have won. What did Renteria do that Ventura would not have done? -
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:46 PM) This game was never in doubt! Congrats to Renteria. 1-0 as Sox manager! Actually he has managed a few others. The comatose Vntura is among the league leaders in ejections.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:41 PM) Shuck is f***ing worthless. Showing he is worth of Renteria's confidence

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) Should have walked Lawrie... Tigers still up by 1, two outs. What difference did it make?

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:27 PM) Why no walk there to set up DP? You hate to try and stop that run from scoring! Renteria is managing, so you don't want to blame the inning on the manager.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) Hate this "tradition" of managers getting right up in umpire's faces screaming their heads off. Probably looks normal to you guys who grew up with it but looks ridiculous to me. You can make the point without borderline bullying. He got thrown out when he was in the dugout. It is automatic when you argue balls and strikes although they usually give you a little leeway if you are chirping from the dugout. Once your tossed, you might as well get your money's worth. It may get you a call later especially if you are like Robin and not always screaming.

Renteria is managing. A Sox victory is a lock.

Hopefully they leave Parnell in. He isn't fooling anybody.

Rallying for Robin

How do you swing at that, like that on 3-1?
-
Get 4 here, have the bullpen shut them down and get Shields his first White Sox win.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) If you've followed him since he was drafted you'd know he struggles each time he moves up a level for a short time. This was to be expected. The problem is there is no guarantee that pattern continues, and the Sox need him to produce now which makes the move a bit baffling.
-
QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) I have a feeling the Sox will have no qualms giving Shields away for nothing as long as the receiving team takes on his contract. Of course. A team taking his contract would take on the entire contract, and the Sox would still get the money the Padres are paying them.

7 k's in 9 AB. Seems the Sox were right having Coats light it up in AAA, and leaving him there.Might have made decent trade filler.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) Looking silly and not making plays are two different things. I don't think that an above-average RF would've caught that ball. Most likely not unless they were willing to perhaps knock themselves out.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:31 PM) Lmao you were right It happens all the time.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) Benetti is insufferable during garbage time like this. To be fair, so would just about anyone.

Coop came out which means the count will start 2-0 or he will hit a rocket.

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:28 PM) As bad as Avi looks out there, he's not the one serving up meatballs that are getting crushed to the back of the warning track. Around the fence OF can look real silly, especially if they aren't so good out there to begin with.

QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) He was high on Desmond though the whole off-season. Gotta give him that. But he didn't want them to give up the draft pick

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Shields is obviously WAY off on his location/command. He gets hit, he knows his stuff isn't as crisp, he tries to nibble on the corners until he has to come in if he's down in the count. It's like Erik Johnson, in another form. Hahn has to go before Ventura. The Anderson and Shields moves were the final nails in the coffin. At least Latos battled, kept us in games more or less and didn't cost $30 million. All we had to do was sign Ian Desmond and we could have kept Anderson in the minors this season to protect him...but no, we took a reliever instead. Ian Desmomd, Ian Desmond...you wanted to sign him in June. Now, with hindsight signing him was the obvious move you wanted them to make all along. But it wasn't. $10 million for Latos, $8 million for Parra and sign Desmomd in June. That is Caulfield without hindsight. No so good. Although I did appreciate how when Duke stunk up the joint a week or so ago,you claimed you were against that move from the beginning. I will get in trouble if I show your actual post in the Duke signing thread, but let's just say, your memory is a bit off.
