Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
Chris Sale gets over a week off, making him better prepared to finish the season in games that count. Perhaps even lowering his risk of injury. It's basically a timeout during the season. Why do people have a problem with this? Would you would rather watch Sale pitch 1 inning in a meaningless game, or have him actually pitch for the White Sox? And Greg, your stance is beyond crazy. When Ozzie managed the All Star team, he didn't play 4 White Sox players. If Ventura and Cooper are evil, what is he? Sale gets the honor of being an All Star, and still gets his in season "timeout". It's a win win.

Post All-Star Game Rotation
People complaining about Sale not pitching are mentioning his normal rest would put him on schedule for Sunday even if he pitched last night. The All Star break is good for extra rest. Why keep Sale on a normal schedule and risk it when you don't have to watch him for one inning in a game who really cares who wins, and the guy gets a break and actually winds up pitching an extra game or 2 the rest of the season

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:11 AM) It sucks. It happens with pitchers. I think AJ was also the only position player that didn't play.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) another moronic move by the sox organization. Yeah, Sale not pitching one inning in an exhibition game will probably set the organization back another 5 years.

Commentary
QUOTE (StL @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 06:01 PM) What are you some your favorite baseball CALLS/Commentary of all time? Maybe its also a great baseball moment...but what Im most interested in are calls you heard that you think were remarkable. What are a couple of your all time favorite calls? Some famous calls are... "The GAINTS IN THE PENNAN!!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!! THE GIANTS WIN THE PENNANT!!" "I don't believe....what I just saw!!" "In to deep left center...from Mitchell....And we will see you....tomorrow night." "Freese hits it in the air to center.........we will see you..........tomorrow night." "A swing and a miss. and that's a winner! That's a winner! A world series winner...for the cardinals!" "Smith corks one in to right down the line....it may go.....go crazy folks, go crazy!" What are some of your favorite calls? My favorite call was from about 1993 or so. The Sox were in Oakland on a beautiful afternoon. They just kept showing bikini clad ladies over and over, and the vast majority where very hot. About 7 innings of this goes on and Hawk finally says, " I'll tell you one thing about this camera crew in Oakland, Wimpy. Best beaver shooters in the league."

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 02:53 PM) Chris Sale pitching one inning today, a day he would normally do a sidensession anyway, should not have an effect on Chris Sale pitching or not.this weekend. According to the White Sox manager and pitching coach, there is a possibility it does.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Trust me. Nobody is concerned about an advantage in a series against a lousy sox team. Hope sale gets the win tonite I know Ned Yost would be pretty happy to miss Chris Sale. Pitching him gives him a chance at that happening. Even if they White Sox lose 100 games, you never know if facing Sale vs. not facing him is a 1 game difference in KC's overall record, and how perhaps what that one game difference means to the Royals at the end of the season.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 09:32 AM) Maybe, but going from lincoln park southwest to United Center is no peach either even compared to Berto Center. I live in the Gold Coast, about 5 minutes from Lincoln Park. Unless he's moving to the West Loop and walking to practice and the games, it really isn't going to be more than a 5 or 10 minute difference in his commute no matter where he goes.

Post All-Star Game Rotation
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 10:56 AM) If I were Robin, I'd let Erik Johnson start after Shark on Friday and give Sale the ball on Sunday. I just don't see how Robin could just give one of these games away by putting in Danks. These are "must win" games, so a Danks should not pitch in this series. Danks has a pretty good track record vs. KC.

2014-2015 NBA thread
So Noah is selling his Lincoln Park mansion. The real estate agent said proximity to work is his priority. Considering the Bulls now practice next to the UC, this is a bit confusing since he bought the home a year ago. Maybe he is getting dealt.

Sale pitching in AS Game in Emergency situation ONLY
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 02:00 AM) This is crazy. Yost is not scared of the White Sox for goshsakes and not scared of Sale pitching for the White Sox. Sale happens to be a helluva pitcher and if I were the manager of the AL I'd f***ing want to pitch him as well. This is stupid. The Royals own the White sox no matter who is pitching. Why the hell would Yost care about the White Sox this weekend? Even if KC dropped all four, they'd be way ahead of the pathetic White Sox. I don't mind discussion but this one is just dumb. Yost is manager of the AL team and Sale is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Of course he SHOULD pitch Tuesday. As a Sox fan and viewing I WANT him to pitch in the all star game. It has nothing to do with "being afraid of the White Sox". He has a 4 game series vs. the White Sox and Sale pitching the All Star Game may mean he doesn't have to face him which gives KC a better chance of winning a game. That isn't just the White Sox who would benefit, but each team in the division. It is probably very rare to have a 4 game series vs. Chicago and miss Sale. Maybe he won't, but Robin did mention perhaps holding Sale back until Tuesday if he did pitch.

If it keeps him from pitching the Royals series, it's a very smart move.

GT: White Sox (41-44) vs. Scrubs (46-40) [1:20CT / 2:20ET]
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) Is Jose hurt? What's the point of not playing him today otherwise? I know his hand has been bothering him.

Samardzija Trade Packages
QUOTE (black jack @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) It's a pretty frustrating situation. Of course once the break cools them off, there will be plenty of time to sell everyone. White Sox winning is frustrating? Can't wait for them to cool off? Wow.

Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition
19 teams 2 games above .500 or worse.

Sale's Month of June
And he basically had no spring training. He got beat around a little bit after a good start this year, and I think not being able to pitch in soring training was the culprit. His overall numbers are obviously outstanding, but I am thinking if he doesn't hurt himself in March, they are probably even better.

Sox Winner!!!
As crazy as it seems, the Sox still have a shot. I know the old 7 or 8 teams they have to leapfrog for A WC berth, but 5 or 6 of those or only 2 games ahead. Get some offense, something might happen.

Nate Jones throwing
I don't think you count on Jones right away. If he works his way into an 8th inning guy, great. He hasn't pitched. Stsrt him out in some lowere leveredged situations other than the 8th and see how it goes. Some guys struggle when they come back. Some guys are great. Make him show you he's great.

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Rodon only threw 10 pitches too. If he can throw 12-14 pitches an inning consistently, he'll be really dangerous. I fully expect he will figure that out eventually, and he and Sale, as long as they remain healthy, can battle each other for Cy Youngs. He's nasty as it is. When he figures out how to stay ahead of hitters, IMO he is going to be unreal.

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
That didn't take long. 8 minute 1st inning.

GT: White Sox (39-44) vs. Scrubs (46-38) [3:05CT / 4:05ET]
Pitching to a pitcher could get Rodon an extra inning in this game. Should slightly help the pitch count.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Yeah, but only 2 of those games were this season. Woulda been nice to give him a week there just to get the footing down. I wouldn't doubt he has been taking a lot of grounders at 3B before games for a little while. Obviously games are different, but there is not much difference between 8 games, 5 games, and 0 games.
