Who's At Fault For No Agreement On The Start Of The Season?
Harry Chappas replied to Soxsi75's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Welcome to America in the year 2020. -
I'm about to say fuck baseball. These owners are trash.
-
Do it all Claudell.
-
White Sox v Cubs 1 week of spring training games would be epically awesome.

My angst comes from the fact that this should have been worked out over the 2 and half months when there was nothing going on instead of making certain every last drop of blood was drained from the turnip. I know it is a business and all of that. The agreement in March did not address the fact that there would be no fans and nobody seemed to want to discuss that until now. We are now opening up at my place of employment and I am rather irritated that there are departments that did nothing over the last 3 months when there was an opportunity to make great strides in upgrading the business model. I am in finance and we converted three of our software systems and overhauled HR. Maybe the world is just getting he better of me but I love baseball and saw a gift given to them to be first out of the gate but instead they looking like they will blow this chance and be irrelevant when they begin.

On the radio this morning they were talking about how they could start spring training. Imagine the coverage the next four weeks just covering spring training.......nope...maybe they will start when basketball and hockey are running their playoff tourneys.....then baseball will run their playoff tourney when football and yes golf will control the weekends. It really is amazing how baseball shoots themselves in the head. Revenue in every sport is up because of advertising so please do not tell me how baseball has never been more popular.

This guy really can't catch a break, in that he seemed to finally be healthy and now the season is gone.
-
I hate that I love baseball so much. There is no sport that pisses on their fans as much as baseball does.

I'm not certain underslot/overslot is a great idea in this draft especially in Shirley's maiden voyage.

Should every citizen have respect for the rule of law and others that would be great. Unfortunately we have seen in the last week how people will react to their own vices.....and I am not speaking about protesters.

I just posted this in the George Floyd thread and will post my thoughts on this as well. The leaderlessness of this nation and partisan messaging of every aspect of life has really gotten to me. I am a pretty bright individual and I posted many, many pages ago in this thread that I really do not know anything for certain about COVID and I feel that nobody else does either.

If everyone was dropped after the first one there would be no police on the street. There is good money to be made in filing complaints against police officers some justified some unjustified. The difficult part of all of this is that there are good and bad on both sides and the bad on both sides are the focal points and greatly outweigh the good. These things are not going to go away and protesting on the surface is the right notion. The problem is that George Floyd has now become Rodney King and his name is now synonymous with rioting and destruction. I have watched national news quite often over the last few days....I never watch national news....but I found it rather amazing how it was covered on CNN v Fox. It is sickening that there is no impartial coverage of any happenings any longer and there is no leader of people in this country.

I thought that happened in the bottom of the 8th and the White Sox were losing. The reality of that game has now changed.....and I was at the game.

If I recall, Hawk losses his shit rather epically.

I am only being partially sarcastic when I compare this to the 2nd Amendment and gun control. There is a good percentage of America that feels like the government is out to get them. Of that group my guess is a majority can only survive because the government props them up. I don't care if the government can track me, I am not going anywhere. but i also feel that semi automatic weapons are not needed in life. America is pretty selfish as a whole and then has this fear that government and big business are try to control their life on top of it. I have a friend that is a government employee that hates the government....yet if it weren't for his bullshit government job he'd be destitute instead of retiring at 52 years old at 65% of his pay and will never have to work again in his life and can retire to his summer home and finish the story of the American Dream provided by the same government that he hates. The only hope is Biden finds a great VP, builds an amazing cabinet and then retires four months in.

I do not believe the Russia and China totals at all. Also it started in China yet they have the lowest death rate.

He was released from his role.....that is interesting wording. I wonder if he is has another option lined up, I am guessing he did not have a role in hockey decisions but I could be wrong. I could see him getting a gig with the Fire. -

Retain the head coach. -
Go look at the states that receive a positive balance and then look at those states that want the government out of their lives. It has always amazed me.
-
Go to the Covid thread and see the photo of them. Something looked off in that photo to me.

I was talking more of younger kids. It was a discussion of grammar school aged and how this thing is changing daily.
-
The virus almost seems manufactured in that younger people and kids in some cases are not only immune to the virus but unable to even carry it especially with how cancer and autoimmune disorders are increasing and not sparing these age groups. I am not saying it is a conspiracy but it will make for a fascinating read someday.

Analytics are taking over sports. That is why inside linebackers, safeties and interior linemen are dropping now a days they are easily replaceable. Corners, pass rushers and receivers are where the money is. All of this assumes you have a GM worth a damn.

Wasn't Paxson gone by then? By that I mean he was only there the first three years so how much first hand interaction did he have? -
