  1. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:26 AM) Lines have been released and the tribe are home underdogs with Kluber on the bump. They still can't get any respect from Vegas. My $ (not2.5Kthough is on the Cubs. The bottom looks like it is starting to fall out for Cleveland. It has nothing to do with respect it has to do with money. The line moves based on who is playing which team. The cubs are heavily bet on all year by their fans that just want the ticket. The 10/5/3 to 1 world series lines from last winter are all factored in to the Vegas lines. The lines now moved based on action as well. By the time the game starts, the cubs will be a 150 to 175 favorite on just about every site if not a solid 2 to 1.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 01:19 PM) JOE WEST behind home plate tonight Joe West was the first base ump Sunday and he blew the balk call. Joe West thinks Joe Maddon is an obnoxious glory hound who believes he is larger than life. Joe West was the best man in Jack Buck wedding and as such is not happy with how the cub fans are treating Joe Buck. Joe West owes all of society to do the right thing and call the strike zone equally larger than it should be in order to get the game in, in under 3 hours and knock off the damn visits to the mound. Joe West is a musician and would some day like to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, located in Cleveland as well as the baseball Hall of Fame. Joe West could give a flying f*** about tradition, curses and fanboy band wagon jumpers. He's been enforcing the rules of baseball well before most cub fans knew the game existed. Joe west will call you out for leaning into a pitch.....Joe Crede says, damn right he will and will call out Rizzo for doing this all season long. This game is all about Joe West, not the cubs. Go on Cowboy Joe West, be the man!!!!!!
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) I know vikes are banged up but amazed the holes that backup guards Kush and Larsen got on them. That and it was about as good of a development game as you could hope for. Floyd/white hair looked great. I did not see the whole game but from what I saw, the OL and moving pocket were key. I am still mystified that Jay is not allowed to roll out as much.
  4. You know what would be awesome, if Reinsdorf and McCaskey got someone to buy the Bears and White Sox for $2.5B and they built a retractable stadium that could be used for football, baseball, the superbowl and the NCAA Championships. The World Series showed once again that Chicago can throw a great party.
  5. Vegas liking the cubs again. Sunday was a huge number for them -250 (that is insane for the world series and crazy for the regular season) today is a big world series road number -150 on them. Game 7 will have them as a big favorite as well as cub nation will play them like crazy.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) One thing that kind of worries me is say we do fire Fox, we just went through all the pain removing all of our 4-3 plaeyrs for 3-4. Now we may scrap it again. Fangio isn't going anywhere isnt he the 3-4 guy?
  7. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) http://thebiglead.com/2016/10/30/the-bears...est-of-the-nfl/ The Bears are becoming one of the worst run franchises in the league. The Bears, White Sox and Bulls stale ownership appears to be a real drag on these franchises.
  8. Tomlin for two, Salazar for two, Merritt to face Schwarber and Rizzo in 5th or 6th.
  9. greg they are on BRTV Also st Christina is on that channel as grammar school championships are being aired after rice game As a sox fan and rice guy here you go MC out of playoffs Marist and Rita out Huntley beat Stevenson, if Oswego west wins and Loyola and rice win first two, Loyola comes to rice in quarters Cubs lost quite a Friday night 8A is all kinds of messed up.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) Baseball is a funny game, but if there is any that seems like a lock for the Cubs to win, it's this one. Game four in LA I felt the same way with Maeda pitching that was like -150
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Is the Rice game on stream anywhere? Check their youtube channel tomorrow, they are not on the cube. My guess is no though as the IHSA wants its money. I hate the IHSA typical Illinois run bulls*** operation.
  12. I played the cubs moneyline at -200, that seems like a gimme. Been playing the money line all playoff on the cub or not at all. Been some really nice wins on cub as I figured every game would be 2 to 1 at least. That was how it was in the Wodd/Prior days.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 08:41 AM) Playoffs start tonight. I'm coaching obviously but is anyone heading anywhere this weekend? Not decided will depend on the weather.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) I like it in general, but I swear there is at least one moment a week where the show leaves me moaning about how unrealistic it is. For example this week, the guy who is the President after the entire capitol is bombed and all of Congress dies, is apparently wandering around a military hangar alone, and meanwhile a solider walks in, doesn't salute either upon realizing he is talking to the President, or when he leaves. I am OK with the whole idea of his learning on the job, but some of the stuff is so common sense, I don't get how it gets missed. Exactly, so congress consists of 2 people and the FBI knows now that 1 is an issue but they are not going to tell the president? Also the over the top military guy that wanted to bomb everyone was a little hookie...that and finding the guy in basically 5 days. I have it on the DVR and will probably hang with it for a while.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 02:40 PM) Gusts up to 40 mph blowing out tomorrow. They should just start Otero tomorrow with his sinker. Going to be cold as hell as well.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Saw where wind is going to be howling out at wrigley this weekend. That's very bad news with Tomlin pitching I saw that for Friday but blowing in Saturday and Sunday.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) I thought I heard last night that a post season game can't be partially played. It would be suspended and finished later if it couldn't be played fully. You can't have a 7 inning World Series game. Unless the cubs are winning when it is suspended then the rules change.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) You know, the other team in this world series is currently on pace to match 11-1. I find it interesting that nobody is really talking about how they have just ripped through the playoffs, two incredibly good offenses. Instead it is "Well, the Cubs were losing 2-1 to the Dodgers and came back" Indians will be forgotten the minute the series is over if cubs win and that will encompass all off-season coverage. MLBN will replay every cub game from this past season and replay the playoffs weekly. Indians will be forgotten by mid-November if they win whole thing as the story will be how good the cubs will be next year, Yankee youth movement and Boston reloading. A little sprinkling of Indians, Dodgers, Texas, Giants and Nationals on rare occasions.
  19. The reason the cubs are far and away better on paper in these playoffs is that they are healthy and now with Schwarber they are 100% Add Gomes, Carraso and Salazarto the Indians and this is not even a series. Add Strasberg to Washington and who know what happens. Tip your hat to the cubs they have a good thing going. Everything after Bochy screwed up the 9th inning is going their way...although I believe they have been shut out 3 times in the last 7 games.
  20. I really wish people would take a rationale look at what teams need to win in the playoffs, premium starting pitching. The Dodgers, Giants, Indians, Red Sox, Mets, and Rangers could not put out four quality arms for the playoffs. The Dodgers couldn't put out three. To think the Yankees would not consider Gary Sanchez for for Chris is ludicrous. To me Sale and Quintana are too valuable and will not get equal value back and the White Sox thus are forced to keep them
  21. I started to hate Deadpsin because of the political commentary but that was pretty classic.
  22. Cleveland beat toronto on a bullpen day. If Salazar can give them 5 innings he will pitch in Wrigley where they may have to go to the pen anyway with the pitcher batting. If Salazar and Carraso were healthy this series goes heavily to the Indians. Miller neutralizes Rizzo and Schwarber as he will pitch at least one inning every game.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) Yeah, and I guess it's not really "true" the Warriors are going to make wet, soggy, dirty diapers out of the nba this year. Afterall, it hasn't happened yet. Please. Bryant, Baez, Russell, Contreras, Rizzo, and Schwarber is as good as it gets - ever. They ain't goin' nowhere. Late 90's Indians were better and what did that get them? You need at least a couple of guys that can throw the ball.
  24. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Indeed. I haven't read the comics, but I understand that Negan is supposed to be a really bad guy but also can be charming and funny. I laughed out loud (and felt really bad about it) when he was driving the RV and a zombie's head exploded against the window and Negan said, "Remind you of anyone you know?" That's what my wife said. His ability to play that character is incredible. When he let Rick off the hook late in the episode she actually found herself liking him.
  25. Making it is awesome but the second you lose the joy is gone. Remember the Bears superbowl of not too long ago....how about losing the conference championship game a few years later. That is some pretty good success right there that does help the failures of the franchise over the last 31 years. The fans certainly have a good outlook for the next few years but it seems everything has gone right for them in this rebuild for it to remain chugging ahead like this.
