  1. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 20, 2017 -> 02:07 PM) But what hat is Rosenthal wearing? He was wearing the redbird mascot suit.
  2. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ May 17, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) Inherited 401ks don't just sit there and grow. Make sure you look at the rules, because you will have to take mandatory distributions, and you will be taxed on those distributions. You have, like, 1 year to decide what to do with them. Ya I cashed it in and paid the taxes as it was not a large amount. I was going to have to take out like $150 a year.
  3. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ May 18, 2017 -> 09:56 AM) Sad to hear about Cornell. Real talent. I got to see the mini-Temple of the Dog reunion/Mother Love Bone tribute they did with him as an encore at Pearl Jam's 20th up at Alpine Valley. I like Soundgarden, but for some reason found it harder to get into than Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, or even Nirvana. Nevertheless, I do own their albums and will be giving them a spin. This was shocking news to wake up to. I agree with you on that. I was at Alpine for that show as well and was disappointed by the encore a little at the time as I thought it was too much Chris Cornell....afterward I appreciated it more. Really sad that he, Lane and Kurt are gone. There isn't enough music around to be losing them.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 17, 2017 -> 03:03 PM) Yeah, but I think if you have a second place just for shoes, you have to be a douchebag, even if you're a nice guy. TBH, I have heard only good things about LaTroy Hawkins the person. My guess is the close to 20 year age difference may have had something to do with Kahnle and Amelda Marcos not getting along.
  5. A financial instrument that is going to help the younger generations is the 401K. My mother passed away and left me $15K in life insurance and $15K in a 401K that she gotten into later in life. She also left me a small house that was paid off. She lived on a pension mostly and some social security. If I stop contributing to my 401K at 60 and drop dead the next day, I will have some very happy heirs with their hopefully 7 figure 401K inheritence. If I had a pension, they get nothing. I never thought of this until my mother's passing.
  6. You add some bullpen arms to a Q deal and you can end up with a better package than you got for Sale.
  7. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ May 16, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) Now Scot Gregor thinks this is a "trade match made in heaven." http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/20170515...a-for-schwarber I think the cubs float the interest out there in him more so than other teams looking to get him.
  8. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 9, 2017 -> 10:55 AM) You can watch Vikings on Hulu, they just released the second half of season 4 on it last week. Looked on Amazon last night and it's there now Thanks
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) For a team that had a player destroy the knee of a rival due to a dirty slide, Joe Maddon really needs to STFU Deflecting from the real issues going on.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 9, 2017 -> 10:55 AM) You can watch Vikings on Hulu, they just released the second half of season 4 on it last week. I got Amazon and Netflix. UGh
  11. I think a Holland and Robertson trade would get you back something really fine. Shields back on the mound pitching well would be good. There is such parity in baseball this season it seems that everyone will be in it.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2017 -> 10:32 PM) Great showcase by Robertson Sad they could not get the run in last inning especially with a guy that does not strike out many. Oh and until this organization takes obp and defense seriously there is really no hope. Miserable day for abreu and saladino.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2017 -> 03:39 PM) The injury-plagued Dodgers now have an entire starting rotation on the disabled list http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/the-injury-plagued-dodgers-now-have-an-entire-starting-rotation-on-the-disabled-list/ …://http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/t...isabled-list/ …://http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/t...isabled-list/ … via @CBSSports No different from last year. Putting eggs in the wrong baskets there.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) The MVC just invited Valpo U to join. Football too?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) DS is pretty solid most of the time, though there is usually at least 1 WTF are they doing moment in each show. In general I like it, though it can be unrealistic at times. Vikings can be found on the history.com app if you have any sort of cable/dish subscription. You can sign in with your cable company account. The last season of Vikings was not on the app, I will try again.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 8, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) It's official. This season of The Americans blows. About to start the Americans. Anyone watching Designated Survivor...it has good parts abut more times than not it's wtf stupid kind of like TWD where people do things that are just not something they would do. Also anyone know where to watch Vikings second half of the last season and Ray Donovan. Trying to watch Homeland and Ray Donovan without a Showtime subscription and not having any luck.
  17. That's a nice series split right there.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) Robertson is warming though. Why not just bring him in then....ugh
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) https://sports.yahoo.com/news/jay-cutler-ma...-160311630.html I'm surprised by the lack of interest in Cutler. You'd think some team with a QB deficiency (49ers, Jets, Browns, etc.) would at least take a flier on him. They all want to tank and get a high pick next year to draft one of the three that will go 1, 2, 3 My guess is some team with a good starter would grab him after and injury but if nobody is lookign for him......wow want a flame and failure out of a career
  20. Day is slipping away from me and I just checked in. The thing I think I am seeing more of this are the following; The tipping of the cap to guys that we should not be tipping our cap to has decreased. The hitting seems to be beating the pitching they should and is stringing things together moreso than in the past. Davidson hits those he should and struggles against those you think he would. Abreu getting into game shape earlier this year than last. Really is a shame the pitching is getting dinged up but I guess that is across the board.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2017 -> 11:06 PM) Trout (8) Yawn I have heard 10x more about Aaron Judge this year then I have Mike Trout.
  22. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:19 PM) Sure but the Rangers aren't just going to let him go for nothing, and I'm not really interested in giving up anything meaningful for him at this point, he's shown nothing. Plus even if he figures it out he's a free agent pretty soon. I thought his name came up in the Rios trade often...maybe Dementia is setting in, been one of those days.....how f'd up though if Leury Garcia has a more prominent career than Profar.
  23. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 1, 2017 -> 10:07 PM) great ep of Better Call Saul Yes it is.
  24. doing with 4 pitchers on the DL. The depth of this pen should keep it from being overworked.
  25. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2017 -> 09:51 AM) One thing to remember is...no one thought the Bears were taking a QB @ 3. That includes most other teams. My guess is they were getting calls from teams looking to move up to get a QB (or other player) and one of those teams was the Browns (who had no idea Bears were in on Trubisky and who thought Bears were moving down...because Bears didn't want Browns to take Trubisky one...they wanted Browns to think they could get "cute" and get both of there guys). When Pace was hearing the offers from the Browns, he probably knew, if he wasn't willing to deal, then the Browns might (or were) also talking to Niners (and there could be other teams in the equation as well), so with that, he had Trubisky as the franchise guy and moved up to make sure he got him. I could definitely see the above scenario playing out...it could be nonsense too. This is why I don't think they were betting against themselves which I originally thought. I think they knew what teams were offering and had ideas of who was looking to move up to grab a QB which teams did a further back in the draft.
