QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 04:17 PM) The pitch tracker on mlb gameday must be waaaaayy off. There are pitches down the middle on there that are called balls. This ump is having a really tough day.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) Nice throw Tyler. Not looking any better than last and actually looking pretty bad Christ with this umpire giving nothing close

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) I'm not sure how he rated out as such a speed threat...cause from what I've seen of him, he's not fast. He has speed but is very slow to react.

Garcia is a terrible outfielder. Also this umpire will not call a strike.

Nice AB but with this strike zone he should have walked at least three times.

Rodon comped to "a young Carlton"
Are my rose colored glasses larger than the novelty Harry Carey glasses you can get on Addison and Clark or is it conceivable that the three best left hander starters not named Kershaw could pitch for the White Sox in 2016. IMHO I think David Price is regressing and will be right behind them and Kershaw above them.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) Jesse has graduated HS by now. When Breaking Bad starts, Jesse is 26. When BCS starts, Jesse is 20. The show is about 3 years ahead of breaking bad maybe more. Mikes granddaughter looks about 4 and is about 9 or 10 in Breaking Bad.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Guys all the time: David Diehl, Harold Reynolds, Tim McCarver, Erin Andrews (who is also female). To name a few. Wasn't tweeted though. Those were all talked about on the show. The comment about the boobs doesn't happen and there is no apology. Spiegel would not be apologizing for criticizing her work today. That's not what he's sorry about. Telander and Haugh are crucified daily by bernstein.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 11:44 AM) I love it for sports news, rumors, trades To me the rumors and trades seemed to be a race to be first and it ends up being misinformation or wrong. Personally I found it to be more work than it was worth and became to time consuming with pointless crap of self absorbent assclowns

I still for the life of me do not see what good has ever coming from Twitter. Nothing. Nothing really good comes from social media especially when out relationships hit you up.

I'd rather Q started the home opener.

The White Sox bringing Rodon north would cause a new headache to the situation though.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 25, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) He's in the same boat Rodon is in. Send him down for 2 weeks, you get him for 7 seasons. I will agree with Boras that if the Cubs are trying to win, baseball will be broken if they keep him in Des Moines until he won't be a Super 2. Boras exploits every loophole he can. He should be very understanding the other side does as well. If he ran a team, he would do the same thing. Except Bryant spent all of last season in the minors Rodon has only had a cup of coffee in the minors.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 25, 2015 -> 08:42 AM) Its funny how Bernstein has gone from not really liking but understanding the McDonald move at the beginning of his show yesterday, and now has gone full b**** on twitter about it now. Yes this is sport that he tells everyone kills people because of the head trauma and then cannot believe that some of those playing the game appear to less than model citizens. He really should jsut say because o fthe nature of this sport and its participants he will no longer talk about the NFL.

So Lester has a dead arm. I thought the best thing for a dead arm was to pitch through it.

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 12:45 PM) Frustrated is the wrong word. I prefer stupid in this case. If you are a Cubs and want Kris Bryant in the majors to start the year, that is a really stupid opinion. There really isn't another side in this argument. 7 years from now is the payday, everyone gets it. Two weeks in the minors will not impact anyone other than Kris Bryant. That is not the point of either of our posts. In 7 years he will go to the highest bidder whether that is the cubs red sox or royals, although he could be out of baseball by then as well. The best part would be if he made the cubs pay an extra $25M on top of the highest bidder if that is what this little stint in the minors cost him at the end of the day. My point was that as a fan I look at my team for today's entertainment, not how entertaining they may be in 7 years. What happens tomorrow and what happened last year do not impact me so long term stability, while great for my IRA, does nothing for me as a sports fan.

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
Sports are really starting to piss me off. Tanking for years is acceptable, yes as a fan I want my team to suck for a number of years. When a team wins a championship, I gain nothing in the grand scheme of things, nothing. Mylife is no better or worse because of the 2005 White Sox. Yes it was fun but then that is it. It is over. Each day and each game is its own entity of enjoyment to me. It benefits me in my life for that time I am watching/attending it and that is it. There is no reason why Bryant should start the season in the minors. Any work he needs he can get in the MLB. If the cubs believe they are a better team without him fine but they are not.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Mar 17, 2015 -> 11:36 PM) This team has held it's own very nicely without Kaner. Would be huge if they could stay alive in the playoffs long enough for his return. Target return still the Cup Finals? Defense has been much better. Not certian if it is an unintended consequence or just a coincidence.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 17, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) Under no circumstances will my kids be playing football. They can play flag amongst friends but that is the extent. I personally believe soccer and hockey are more dangerous in regard to concussions at the grammar school/pop warner level.
