  1. There are bad football teams every year but the Bears are not coached they are simply not coached at all. Football is a good amount of game planning and coaching and you can tell the Bears have none of it. This is not a talent issue it is a coaching issue. Special Teams, Offense and Defense. From Ted Phillips on down they should all go and even if they do, they will replaced by a new set of incapable cheap options. Emery should have been fired after the Shea Mc pick, he got lucky with Long and really blew the coaching search worse thing I have seen since the Mike Smith / Alpo Blackhawk days.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) And this is why you don't trade Chris Sale for can't miss prospects. but the cubs..........
  3. he is not doing anything until Lester signs. I think at the end of the day one goes to Boston the other New York.
  4. The unexpected SOA death was similar to the WD death in that I think it went more to a shock value. I thought the Juice thing was handled in the same way but that character seemed to always be some sort of interpretative thought from Sutter that never really made sense to me. I still love that Teller committed a strong armed robbery and ran two cops off the road but it was punching Unser that has him in hot water.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 08:16 AM) Because they have a worse loss and haven't played their extra game and conference title game yet against a highly ranked opponent. Something TCU cannot bring to the table. All of that is what adds up to them jumping TCU and I haven't waivered from that. OSU will jump them for the following in no particular order Program prestige and national scale notoriety Big 10 has more cache than the depleted Big 12 Fan base and draw especially to a semifinal game Baylor is in the same situation as TCU If this was a Texas/OU v OSU compare or TCU v Minnestoa the case may be different. TCU being in the limelight is not what advertisers want. The common fan, ME will watch OSU or Texas before a TCU. TCU's draw nationally is closer to Boise St than to the major teams. Just my $.02
  6. xena the warrior princess is still hotter than a west texas golf course on a December afternoon
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:00 PM) I agree. so instead I'll say Sweet Melissa by the Allman brothers or Peggy Sue/Cindy Lu (depnding on your favorite version) by Buddy Holly I concur
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) Really good advice. Stupid bi......well you get the point
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 12:01 PM) I do believe Boston can get both easily but if samardzija and his agent are keen on going to free agency and not talking extension then if your Boston wouldn't you rather acquire a pitcher to have control over like Cole hamels or a leake, latos, cueto they you might be better of a chance to lock up. Boston has the money to lock anyone up if they choose. Losing Samardzija will net a high draft pick if he leaves so that is also a chip for Beane.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:25 AM) Yeah, my bad. The offense hasnt changed or improved or really anything since he was name OC. Its just a very vanilla hire that is kind of below what you would think from Nebraska. I understand its not official yet so maybe its just a really good rumor. Similar to Fitz to NU hoping I know the program expectations are different but you got a home spun guy that can use that to sell the program a little more which I think Nebraska needs to do.
  11. I wonder if Avi Garcia would come up in talks. This trade is a tough one as the farm finally has some traction and this move could really knock it down but also could push it over the top. Personally I offer Montas and Semien/Johnson and leave it there. Levine was on the SCORE last night and stated the Samardzija will be a life long Chicagoan as a resident but that does not mean much. Personally I do not get why Boston would not just go after Lester.
  12. I thought TWD was great all seasons sans the priest but maybe that goes somewhere and the pointless shock at the end.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 30, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) That;s just awful. The head injury problem in football is only getting worse. Don't know the whole story but didn't he just walk on at OSU and was a wrestler more than football player?
  14. White sox would get nothing they own nothing of the park. Cub would just play at Wrigley .
  15. Victorino would be a great number 2 hitter.
  16. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) So because the kid punched him but it didn't leave much of a mark the officer has no right to feel threatened. Maybe if he punches him and stops there it doesn't. However, when the officer tells him to stop and he continues to advance on him the officer has every right to feel threatened. I don't think someone should die for it either. A non-lethal weapon would have been better, but he didn't have that option. He should have had a stun gun. I know he explained it but it still would have been better. If Brown would have stopped and gave up. It wouldn't have happened. He continued to advance toward the officer and the officer had every right to feel threatened. and that right there is the end of the story for me, the rest of this tragic tale is all media fueled hysteria.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 11:22 PM) Maryland just got a pretty big win. (Sorry Heads and NSS) Remember Maryland is in the Big Ten now? Isn't that why Delaney brought them on? He brought them in for the television region for the Big Network same with Rutgers.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 08:22 AM) Yes. Sadly not all Bulls fans can see the future like you can. Sadly Bulls fans can see the future and it looks like one where Rose is not part of it. What happens after resting for three weeks? He gets all healthy and lasts the rest of the season and then can lead the team through a grueling playoff run.....
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 01:23 PM) Speigel/Mannelly/Boers/Bernstein were just talking about Trestman's track record at his various stops around the league. Apparently, he's always started year one with a good/great offense followed up with a horrendous offense in year two. Only one team has kept him around more than two years. Not exactly a good sign. They were talking about that yesterday. While it was a very good point and they brought up how Emery should have known this, it would have been a better topic for he summer or last spring.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) Retail is, by nature, a low to no profit margin industry Except for the Walton family
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:54 AM) So, it's worth pointing out again that in realtime, right after the shooting, there is video of witnesses (not witness testimony later which I don't like relying on for either side, realtime video) of people running towards the officer yelling "He had his f***ing hands up". That was people's first reaction after seeing it happen. So he stopped and put his hands up, no, he continued on toward the cop that he already had an altercation with and having been shot continued toward the cop. Having your hands up does not mean you are no longer a threat if you continue to advance toward the officer which you already tried to strong arm. Brown was not standing in the street surrendering as we are to assume "he had his f***ing hands up" is supposed to mean. At no point did Brown stop and do what he was told, after assaulting a cop, getting shot and fleeing.
  22. The media really made this story to be much larger than it is. Whether Wilson was guilty or not there is reasonable evidence that the shooting is justified. He did not pull over and gun down some innocent kid. Brown was shot in the hand and then turned and ran and then he did not stop and put his hands up like he was asked. After the first altercation in which the kid was shot in the hand and then he ran and the second in which he was shot at he still did not stop and surrender like he was asked. The media made this into yet another opportunity to fill air time. Until some sort of reasonable reporting is done these things will continue to happen as folks love to be on television. Do you want to see the true definition of animals, head to any Walmart Thursday afternoon/evening/night when people will head out to make certain they get as much cheap s*** as they can which will last all of about one year until it needs to be replaces again at next year's Black Friday. Think about Duke Lacrosse and the media.
  23. I would not be opposed to it but I ma not certain there is an equitable return. Off the top of my head Pittsburgh would be an option with McCuthchen and then top two players or Houston with Appeal and good young position players. Sale is good, young and cost controlled.
  24. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) That's very surprising since 21 and 13 are both very common game scores. It's not like the Bears won 11-5 or something like that. No way that is true.
  25. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) I think he means evading the police, the chase, stolen vehicle etc. Yes the little strong armed robbery and then the evading police. Unser would not press charges but that to.
