  1. Just got in and read the game thread to see how things went, sports fans, I think we have an ace.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2013 -> 12:20 AM) Tell that to Jenks or Koch, lol. Actually, Tom Gordon would be a perfect example, or Foulke. Neither as closers threw much over 90, but they had the #2 pitch (curve and change) to nullify batters trying to cheat. Even Takatsu, although that frisbee was a one trick pony...he had more velocity than Dylan. Jenks hook was what made him unhittable
  3. good win, goodnight
  4. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ May 17, 2013 -> 12:16 AM) Addison Reed is the case study for velocity being overrated. Velocity is nothing for a closer control of two good pitches is the key
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 17, 2013 -> 12:14 AM) With Wimpy it seems more like two old friends watching a game over beer, catching up on the old days. Which is when hawk is at his best
  6. Fathom there is the location change to callaspo you were looking for
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 17, 2013 -> 12:08 AM) I got a bad feeling about this. Me too but I felt hast way with mauer and morenau the other night as well
  8. Just looked at verlander's night, ouch
  9. That was a spot where flowers should have been pinch hit for.
  10. More walks this inning then they had in some series this year.
  11. On the radio this morning the were talking about how the playoffs did not benefit the Bulls at all in the grand scheme of things. I think it helped Jimmy Butler and Noah as well as got Teague some time.
  12. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 15, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) 17-21. Same record as last year after 38 games. That is surprising.
  13. Score more than three runs and good things happen. Rios and Dunn 7 for 8, 5 runs scored 5 RBI Nice way to end the workday
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ May 15, 2013 -> 03:20 PM) June 5th...when they get back from Seattle. If they can go 13-7, that'll get them over .500. It's doable. If the White Sox hit at a league average and sustain no more long term injuries they will be fine.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 15, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) Was San Diego going to play Rizzo as a DH? They like Yonder Alonso better in that ballpark. Also, Andrew Cashner has looked pretty damn good so far this year. Granted, it was a deal made between friends but it wasn't completely lopsided. Cashner gets injured at a Jim McMahon type clip that is what made the deal bad.
  16. The anemic offense has nothing to do with Tyler Flowers. Compared to other catchers in the league he is fine. It is the leadoff hitter and $28M combo of slow white 1B/DH that are killing this team along with the $3M platoon player trying to play everyday. Now go win one before heading out west.
  17. Maybe all of the innings Ramirez has played are catching up to him.
  18. The White Sox will help get some angels players going like they did last year.
  19. Not reading this thread but what does every team want, good young pitching
  20. Anyone notice the scouts name and is it the Washington GM?
  21. Harry Chappas replied to knightni's topic in SLaM
    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 8, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) When I was 12 I was a walking erection. I thought you were older than 12
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2013 -> 11:55 AM) You honestly believe teh Sox trade Jake Peavy in midseason and attendance does nothing, and no one writes about White Flag? Now I know you are trolling. The cubs have white flagged two years now and god knows how many more. To say anything the Sox do is a white flag is a Joe Cowley inciter piece. The Blackhawks have a better chance scoring a goal than the White Sox do getting runs. Since last Wednesday this is guess as it is disgusting Blackhawks 13 White Sox 11 that is all you need to know
  23. If John Danks is not hitting 90 he will be massacred at the MLB level. He can not throw strikes consistently enough to get by with mediocre control.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) They had a plan. Start at 3B and hit second. Which for his skillset I do not feel is a good plan. Just because hawk thinks a bad plan is a good plan doesn't make every plan a good plan.
  25. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ May 6, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) With a 2-1 final, did we steal one? Is that based on Getz bobbling the ball? Both teams struggled apparently to break through in the first 9... Sox had a 0.5 WHIP through 8 innings If people are going to b**** about Reed yesterday the Sox won in that same fashion today that was about all I was trying to say.
