  1. The Angels have seen the weak defesne by the Sox and Aybar hhs taken advantage of it with bunt singles Jake Fox plays third....no bunt attempts Miguel cabrera plays a whole series on an ankle he can barely walk on and Dontrelle Willis sprians his ankle in the second inning and no bunt attempts on either of them..... The Sox just seem to stick to one idea and never adjust.
  2. QUOTE (DanksFan @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Why not pinch AJ? The back-up catcher never gets in the game for fear of an injury.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) I thought the reason we picked up Castro was that he offered us a better offensive catcher for AJs day off. Basically we got a latin version of the same crappy back up catcher we have had here for years. He and Pods are 0-6 with a walk and 4 K's.... The middle of the order is 1-6 Sadly they have let Erv off the hook....
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) I am kind of liking Kotsay Still liking Kotsay...none of the pitches to him were strikes. Erv is going to be out of this game so get him now
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) Great job JD. You're just an amazing player overall right now. Take a day off. He'll get one tomorrow I'd think he looks terrible right now
  6. Dye's baseball IQ is falling like a rock.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) well erv was let off the hook. Danks needs to step up now....somehow I get the feeling it is going to be 7-3 shortly. Well 6-3 now this is exactly like the Indians game, it is scary.
  8. well erv was let off the hook. Danks needs to step up now....somehow I get the feeling it is going to be 7-3 shortly.
  9. Anybody have castro's stats since he has been with the Sox. He got Jose going for a few starts and caught the no hitter but as far as a hitter goes he looks terrible. He moves the guy over and it is 5-4 in no time.
  10. Keep the line moving. This game looks exactly like the Ingins game when Richard was get hit like Danks today.
  11. How did Figgins steal two bases on one pitch? Danks needed to have a decent outing today.
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 09:48 AM) Win the first two of the series rather easily then have the starter removed from the game by 1:30. Well at least he made it past 1:30 but not by much.
  13. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) Not a bad lineup for the afternoon get away game. Im feeling good about a sweep. Let's do it boys! Sox are at home tomorrow.
  14. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 11:31 AM) What exactly does Hudson have to work on in the minors, though? That's the issue for me. And if this idea of overcoming first start jitters were true, well, lets throw up Hudson and get his out of the way too so he can dominate. People are just transfixed with prospects and this idea of them progressing bit by bit, year by year. Sure, if a player needs to work on some aspect of their game against increasing competition this is the set standard, but if they're already put together (as Beckham was) then what use is there in the minors? Then, even when they're ready, it seems to be a collective feeling among fans that every other option should be explored before doing what's right. Yes, not everyone is Beckham; but Hudson doesn't appear to be challenged -- so why delay him? Our organization obviously doesn't believe much more time is needed if they've promoted him so far, so quickly. I don't see what Charlotte can possibly do for his development. What's the worst that can happen with Hudson, that he's terrible? Ok, then demote him after. If he's any type of man he wont fall apart in the minors upon returning. He'll learn from his mistakes. I'd honestly rather try Hudson and risk whatever he brings than stick with Torres. This goal here should be putting the best option on the mound, and we all know what that is. I guess I didn't look close enough at Torres nice outing against the Rays and his very good numbers at AAA. Hudson has had a nice season but so has Torres.
  15. Peavy, Beckham and beating the two hottest teams in baseball will do the trick along with Detroit losing to Cleveland and Baltimore.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) So if he is baseball smart he is carney lansford, and if he is baseball dumb he is carney lansford. got it As long as he stays off of the snowmobile. baseball dumb ceiling Lansford baseball smart floor Lansford
  17. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 10:06 AM) Is that your prediction or did you hear something? Nothing will be known for sure until after three rehab starts.
  18. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) Bring up Hudson. I'd rather take my chance with him than Torres, and Carrasco needs to be around the bullpen in case Hudson falls flat. Torres looked servicable against Tampa and the first start jitters should be gone. Hudson will have all of this stuff to work through. I'd also like to see if Torres does ok for him to stay up until Peavy is ready and then stay with the team through September. The starters could use that extra day I would think which they will not be getting if they skip the number 5 spot.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 09:39 AM) Refresh my memory. Win the first two of the series rather easily then have the starter removed from the game by 1:30.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 09:35 AM) Everything is pointing to a win which means we'll probably lose. See Cleveland and Minnesota Thursday afternoon home affairs.
  21. Get a second job or whatever it takes to get the MLB network. It will render ESPN useless for baseball fans. I just wish they had better day time programming. Save the WS highligtes and programming for the off season.
