  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) It was a joke Betsy...sorry, I should use green more. I believed you too, thought is was odd but as bad as the NL is I thought it was possible based on interleague. Your Konerko crack was a joke too right?
  2. Anderson should have been in this game when it became 8-0. There is nothing good Griffey is going to do here other than incur some sort of general soreness. Swisher and Wise should also replace Quentin and Dye shortly.
  3. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) Uribe has come to play this weekend. You missed Friday's gam I take it. Nice job by Uribe reclaiming his status as trying to help us forget about Crede. Good to use a decent approach offensively against Gio, need to bullpen proof this game with a nice continuous barage. In the trib today it sounded like Gardenhire seemed to get flack on Guerrier and he kind of called him out.
  4. That 100M was sick. The cameras around Phelps was incredible. Just read the cubs lost. Nice.
  5. Just got back from demolition derby. Watched the first six innings and the inconsistency of this teams offense is sickening. The A's are not good...to talk about not getting swept and being happy to have won 2-1 is pathetic and just sad. I am fine with the split but the stupid and sloppy play is maddening. They need to wake up or October baseball will be a myth come mid-September.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) I'm not a Greg Smith fan. He sucks. So did the guy last night. These type of pitchers will allow the Sox hitters to get thmeselves out a majority of the time.
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) Put CQ in motion, we need something to changeup the rhythm of this game. too good of a pick-off move.
  8. I gotta go back to an overriding theme that I ahve brought for a couple of years now. the advanced scouting on this team is either nonexistent or the execution is not htere. To continue to belabor a point, if a guy can not hit an offspeed pitch even if he knows it is coming, throw it. The Sox seem to think, "well he thinks a pitch he can not hit is coming, so let's throw a pitch he can hit as he won't expect it." and said player ets a hit. this is just plain sad.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 04:24 PM) Danks is pitching scared this inning. That or he has nothing. You would too with this defense.
  10. I need to vent for a second. The pathetic defense is killing this team and hitters that are unable to contribute consistently are trotted out there while defensive players sit and watch. I have never seen a team that drops as many pop ups as the White Sox. They look like an 8 year old team out there on defense. The inconsistency on offense is another issue. There is no reason why this team should not average 5 runs a game with the way Ramirez, Quentin and Dye are going. The at-bats that are simply given away with poor appraoches and lame attempts are nausiating. There is no reason way Brian Anderson neer starts over players hitting below .235 and have no defensive ability. That's all.
  11. The Sox struggle agaisnt fundamentally sound teams like the A's, Boston and Minnesota. The A's suck and they may sweep this weekend. reminds me of Septemebr '06 when they ended any hopes by simply crushing hte Sox.
  12. s*** players galore lighting up the Sox tonight and the tip of the hat game. Night all.
  13. Haracio not near the plate.
  14. There was no way Uribe should have come to the plate there. Street may go the rest of this game with the spinning top approach at the plate.
  15. The baseball IQ of this team could be negative.
  16. Street looks like Borowski and Todd Jones Please PH for Uribe.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 10:27 PM) At least we have a chance against Street. no we don't
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 10:23 PM) Yep, leave in the fastball pitcher to bat against the fastball hitter. Boone Logan's fall from grace really hurts there. Ramirez was warmed and ready and should have come in to face Cust. The scary thing is Griffey pinch hitting for Anderson and playing center if it goes extras. Man this team misses Linebrink.
  19. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) Dotel all over the place. Get him out after Thomas. Cust is a f***ing .229 hitter I don't give a s*** about all of the other pretty stats. 3 for 3 with 3 RBI tonight. Man Dotel can give up home runs rather easily.
  20. I thought Cust was batting 4th.
  21. Dotel all over the place. Get him out after Thomas.
  22. Dotel all over the place. Get him out after Thomas.
  23. QUOTE (almagest @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) Yeah, with 2 outs and 2 strikes on Swisher, definitely. Looked like someone in Oakland's bullpen touched the ball, though. Doesn't it then become a dead ball? Sox bullpen. I thought Swisher hit that ball. Sorry that was no doubt the right call. Get Dotel out of there and put in Carrasco. ugh. 4-3
  24. Comparing Boone Logan And Carlos Quentin should get DJ fired. No problem with Anderson going there oh wait Ramirez was on deck. Nice play by the A's.
  25. Nice walk and ab by Konerko there.
