Last night was the epitome of why the White Sox can stagnate on offense and what theRed Sox excel at. Working a pitcher. The Sox refuse to let the pitcher work. Every Red Sox at-bat seems to go at least 5 pitches.
On an other point I referred to Manny as the Boogyman. He seemed to affect every pitch in my mind and I thought the same of certain pitchers. After the homerun last night there wasn't that feeling, "oh s*** gotta get Ortiz because you don't want to face Manny." I think this affected how pitchers worked to the 9 through 2 guys. Manny had a presence that I am sure glad to miss. As good as Youkilis, Lowell and Bay are, they are not Manny.
