Tigers @ White Sox 9-14-08 GM 1
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) It's likely those games would never be played. If they were played, you'd have to give the advantage to the team that has a reason to win instead of a bunch of guys who have their bags packed for the next morning. This team has a nice chance here as the Tigers should really not care about these games while the Sox have everything to get up for. Yet Vazquez really seems to be the only guy really jazzed up.

Tigers @ White Sox 9-14-08 GM 1
I can understand why the Tigers seem to be a little lackadasical but the Sox seem to not really seem to interested in making anything happen. Oh wait as DJ has stated they have not hit in three days hence they are rusty. What is the excuse for the week preceeding. Verlander with an ERA of 9.45 in his has three starts..........

Tigers @ White Sox 9-14-08 GM 1
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 03:45 PM) Our offense is just sad. It's not just that they're not scoring runs, but they don't even come close to making solid contact. Why is Juan Uribe swinging at first pitch curve after a long AB by Swisher that resulted in a walk? Your quote right there is why the park is empty and there really isn't a good vibe to this team. Since the ASB 2006 this team just can not get a consistent facet of the game going for more than a couple of weeks.

Twins Watch Thread 2008
QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) Well, looks like Baltimore is going to show up today. 7-0 O's in the bottom of the 7th. This Liz guy is looking like he did against the Sox, i.e., competent. I thought Guthrie was going to start one of these games instead of Olson. Would have been nice. He was scheduled to start today. The lose to Liz sits a little easier right now. It is bulls*** to talk about other teams showing up against the Sox and not agaisnt other teams. The Sox seem to shut down a-lot easier against other teams.

White Sox Loser
You know what that sereis told me. The Blue Jays are really good. If not for an inept GM who finally fired the asshat manager and got a decent manager in there they would have been in the pennant race all season. They also lost another really good starting pitcher...the name escapes me. This team simply gave Reed Johnson and Frank Thomas away.

I did not know that the Rays just took two huge last at-bat wins from Boston in Boston.

Nice piece of managing by Gardenhire as he assured his team the 10th by using Nathen and getting the middle of his line-up into the game.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) Not sure who this Ramirez dude is...but 67K in 66 innings and a 2.70 ERA. Mahay + Ramirez + Soria and the Royals have the makings of a moderately decent bullpen. Damn right. Geez they still have Soria sitting out there. Gathright needs to get on here and steal second and third.

Twins Watch Thread 2008
Twins saw all of seven pitches in the bottom of the 8th and they had a baserunner. Is it just me or do Sox pitchers never seem to get a hitter to swing at a close pitch. Olivo K's, against the Sox he doubles in that situation. Soria for the 9th and 10th.........

Twins Watch Thread 2008
Royals saw 8 pitches for 4 batters in the 8th and actually got a hit. They seem like a very different team against the White Sox as they would have worked the count there and gone through 3 different relief pitchers.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Aviles 1-out triple, Guillen RBI double, tie game... royals already got 5 hits on liriano in the 3rd, 4 for extra bases... Liriano is not the same pitcher he used to be. He may become it again but you never know.

Your first place Chicago White Sox!
This stupid post has been out there since May and now nobody wants to do anything about it. This team is still in first correct...to let it die now would be assinine.

Blue Jays @ White Sox 7:11
I just opened my White Sox season ticket holder box-o-stuff. There is a Nick Swisher bobblehead in there. I handed it to my wife and said "get this f***ing thing away from me". Her response, "big Swisher fan ah."

Blue Jays @ White Sox 7:11
This is a positive game regardless of what happens from here on out but I am still not a Nick Swisher fan. Also please keep AJ far away from the #2 spot in the line-up that is all gotta go.

Broadway starting sunday...
So Vazquez is going on three days rest? Why not start Broadway Saturday and Vazquez on normal rest Sunday. Really dumb.

Blue Jays @ White Sox 7:11
What the f*** is wrong with Griffey now? Why not give Anderson some sort of shot and go with the defense as neither Wise or Owens is nearly as good a defensive player. There is a part of me that hopes Anderson is moved so I can not longer get irritated that he does not play. Ozzie having a really bad series, really, really, bad. Sox may get no-hit.

Buehrle could shut them down...he also could give up ten runs...... Halladay.................... well let's hope for the best.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 10, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) One team that I do not think will be in the playoffs is Milwaukee. The Amazing Ned Yost Our Sphincters Are Too Tight Show, now in its second smash year, continues. That, and the complete failure by GM Doug Melvin to improve their bullpen at the deadline, makes them a team living on borrowed time. They are the Chicago White Sox. They also ran into Jake Peavy and Edison Voloquez. Look at the schedules in the NL for St. Louis and Houston v. the Brewers and cubs. It may not be that easy yet.

The marketing of this team is getting a tad out of hand. At some point they need to let the hockey take over, like now.

9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) So basing the "he is the most overrated player in white sox history" off of the last 2 games is somehow different than saying he is the best after 2 walkoffs/game tieing? Right, sounds good. Based on the fact that Thome, Konerko, Dye and Cabrerra can be blasted on this board and all have out produced Nick Swisher this year and in their career. Yet everyone loves Nick Swisher. What exactly has he done this year other than sing and dance and get Hawk all giddy when he does have nice day.

9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Oh for sure. He struck out 2x in the bot 9th in the last 2 games. If only he could tie games up with homers or get on base for homers or hit walkoff homers he wouldn't suck so badly. hahah, this place is comical after a loss, makes the rest of work go by faster. He is hitting .228 I suppose the fact that he hit the walk off home run in the extra inning game and had a nice game Saturday alleviates the .228 average becasue he does draw the timely walk. Nick Swisher is not a good hitter. To get called out on strikes like he has tells me he is not a good hitting. I suppose the singing and the dancing make up for it though. The line Hawk uses "Don't tell me what you do, tell me when you do it," could be the dumbest line ever. A .330 hitter is more useful than a .230 hitter no matter when they get the big hit. Sorry to hurt your feelings by thinking Nick Swisher sucks because I really think he does and the .228 batting average and below average defense back me up.

9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN
Nick Swisher could be the most over rated player in White Sox history. In the last two games he has looked at strike three ala Scott Podsednik three times. With runners in scoring position in huge situation. To call him a run producer is sickening.

9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN
White Sox have the market corned on steller five inning pitchers who fall apart. On the flip side once the offense gets down it goes right to sleep for the remainder of the game. Do the Sox have 4 hits in the last 14 innings?

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) Don't they have the best pen in the AL? Pretty close but I would like to see anyone different. Sox may not get ten hits total for the series.
