Milton Bradley
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Had we actually been in the hunt this year, this would have been a God-send. No use for him this year. The intriguing thing is to try and get him to be competitive and if he shows anything try and trade him at the break. Based on the looks of our OF this year and going into next they have to seriously look at anyone that can catch a ball hit in the air and bat .250.

What is the waiver process at this time? How close do we pick? Very interesting. Didn't the A's get hot without him?

Mets Interested in Buehrle?
KW has the chips. Every team in the NL except Washington is still in the race. He could change the face of the NL race by trading Dye, Iguchi and Buerhle to one team. How would Atlanta or St. Louis look with those three. If nothing else Dye and Iguchi insulate a team from injury and gives them a dynamite bench which when packaged with Buerhle should net soem pretty good results.

Owens sent down
Stay healthy and light it up this weekend and then who cares. I liked Owens but he is a ways away from being a productive major league hitter.

Maybe the rest of the fools on this team saw how to work a count. God I hate this team, it was nice to see a guy look like he had a clue.

Dye, wind blown save of the foul out then K's nicely done to atttack and looking for someth ign to drive. Now the LOOGY to get them out of the inning. This team is down right miserable.

I gotta tell ya. Joe Crede may be a man without a country very so. I don't think he gets non-tendered but his value to the Sox organization will continue to drop if Josh can sit at the .270 range as the power and OBP will be better than Crede.

This season is the baseball version of Groundhog Day the movie. Nothing really ever changes unless the opponent really sucks and gives the game away. I bet AJ sees 2 whole pitches at the most.

Why no bunt? How come a player that can hit and not bunt feels Guillen's rather (Iguchi) yet s*** players like Owens, Cintron and Uribe get consistent time. Jerry Owens has no business being in the majors over Sweeney BTW. sad.

Garland seemed to be doing really well..................................................1-0 Fish. There is the ballgame. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) Can someone name me a mediocre shortstop who was rewarded $10-$11M in arbitration? Why does Hawk feel the need to make s*** up? What was he talking about?

What is Mark Buerhle worth?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) Mark just said on ESPN 1000 that waiting until the end of the season before discussing any sort of extension way a mutual decision, Buehrle had an equal hand in putting this thing off. My guess was they thought there would be a season. Now that it is over, start the talks now until July 31st then move or sign him. Why not talk now?

Barrett traded to the Padres
My dislike for the cub has Barrett at the top of my list of guys I want to get red hot. I hate(d) barret with a passsion by the way. I wonder who the cub is targeting as their next catcher.

Mets Interested in Buehrle?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 10:51 AM) You say it's a risk KW can not take but in reality it's his best course of action, you're not going to get big time major league talent from a 1st place team looking to make a run for a championship. Either you re-sign Buehrle (which I really don't think is going to happen), you trade him for a couple highly touted prospects or you let him walk at the end of the season and enjoy your 2 draft picks. Prospects are hit and miss but when you're making deadline deals with contending teams, they're really all you're going to get in return. I agree with you 1,000% if the Sox do not want to sign Buerhle and the Mets can not work out a deal in the 72 hour window of opportunity. If a long term deal is struck, then you need to get more than three prospects who haven't shown enough in their cup of coffee time to warrant a #2, possibly NL #1 starter locked up for the next 5 to 7 years which thus far will yield 14 wins and 200+ innings. The struggles of the Mets at this time needs to be used against them.

Mets Interested in Buehrle?
Am I the only one that thinks if you can work out a contract extension with Mark Buerhle his value increases dramatically. I guess the value of the three prospects is something special but this is a starting pitcher that they can lock up for 5-7 years if they'd like. Do the Sox ask for 5 of the Mets prospects in exchange for Buerhle if he signed for whatever it is the Mets want to give him? I may be over valuing Mark Buerhle but I am not sold that the three guys mentioned are all everyday players and Buerhle is an All-Star and all of 28 years old. They may end up as Hafner, Sizemore and Willis. They also may not, and that is risk KW can not take at his time with this organization. Low level prospects for one of the most popular players in team history will be tough for the bandwagon fanbase to swallow. How is attendance at the Jake? How'd the Mets look last night?

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 09:41 AM) For what it's worth, per Trib ... I like to hear that the Devil Rays were here, though I do not suspect that we will be getting what we all want. What if they were scouting Danks?

Barrett traded to the Padres
North talking to fans if you want entertainment tune if. Bowen threw out 3 of 26 runners sounds like AJ. Tyler Burke hitting .211 Barrett caught Peavy in WBC. Pads announcer (Billy Ray Smith former LB?)_ talking to North. Pads think the guys they gave up both suck This sounds like a terribly bad cub trade. Stone brought up Linebrink...belief is Phil Nevin and GREG MADDUX helped in determining if Barett was worth the risk. Man the Pads guys are fired up for this. Dickie Thon turns 49 today BTW
