  1. Thanks for the insightful post us morons really appreciate it.
  2. See cub v. sosa, cash is king and the wrigley blue did not get thome and I-Rod becasue they have $18M tied to the man.
  3. I think Johnson is overrated and Fonzie looked like a fool in the playoffs. I think these guys are pretty overhyped and wouldn't like either of them for Maggs. I could see Konerko for Nick Johnson. For Maggs...Soriano and Weaver. Sorry I haven't given up on Weaver just yet. These movesd and resign Colon and I have faith.

The sheep that are cub fans feel the same way about Sosa. $14M players do not allow a team to loss 1-0 to the Tigers twice and padres. Maggs is a good/great player but he does not do enough to absorb about 25% of our salary. Not sure why we can only operate at $60M but that is the team.
  5. Sounds like he doesn't want to manage unless the team and organization are serious about winning. Not sure why he would change his tune for the White Sox and why I feel the Sox are just putting this out there to be in a position to lowball Guillen. Then when they lose Colon and all attendance for next year, they are not paying a manager $1M to try and be successful. Resign Colon Trade Ordonez for Kevin Brown and Guillermo Mota; Then we are serious. A rotation of Loiaza, Buerhle, Garland, Shoenweis and Rauch/Cotts/ etc. is pitiful
  6. If the lovely Chicago State ever allows me to I am returning for Secondary Ed. great move, the business world really sucks. I am also looking into Elementary Ed alternative programs. I can toss fourth graders around if the screw off. Ooops, I can toss fourth graders around if they screw off.
  7. Carl Pavano, he can handle the pressure. I bet the Red Sox get him back though. What a bad trade by the spos'
  8. Not sure I totally disagree with this. Although I have never enjoyed video games and am not too old 32, I really don't see teh need for these type of games. The perspectives of reality and respect have totally left society.
  9. That guy could've played it off much better as he could have drageed it out for a bit; What are thinking? "If Robin and BaBa Booey have met with Fred errr, Eric yet and have gotten out? Oh my god Howard is doing anal right now in front of me, Ba Ba Booey, Ba Ba Booey.
  10. Sun-Times is usually never right though.
  11. What happened to Slingin' Sam McDowell? Hawk calls him one of the best pitchers he has seen. That is all I know of him.
  12. I think the Marlins are going to do alright. If they get starting pitching from Penny and Redman, I think they may win. The Yankees starting pitching can be had by the Marlins.
  13. I've always said that Cub "fans" are more concerned with Wrigley, attendance, and beer more so than winning. I like beer as much as the next guy but Miller Lite is hardly the reason why I go to USCF . Posts like this just prove my theory. The attending game cub fan is of the attitude see and be seen. Winning is cool by-product, should it occur. Make the headlines and get your face out there and the ultimate goal is complete. Winning is great but no more so than being hip and being with the in crowd. The 25 year-old long suffering cub fan is sitting in a bar in Berwyn, not hanging out on waveland Ave, NOT EVEN WATCHING THE GAME!!!!!
  14. And always will be losers. It's great to see the "best 2 pitchers" in Chicago choke it up big time. Makes me appreciate Buehrle even more. Reminds me of Garland and Loiaza in Minnesota although a much grander scale.
  15. Unless the gift under the tree is Terry Bevington.
  16. Wasn't it because he was a flashy dresser?
  17. Where was Matt Clement last evening? The guy threw a gem Saturday why not bring him in for an inning or two when it was obvious Wood was done.
  18. I wasn't trying to slam Prior just trying to make light of the fact that unless you are really into baseball you probably haven't heard of Beckett before Sunday and he and AJ Burnett (if healthy,) can be as good as Wood and Prior. Throw in Penny and Pavano and which rotation would you rather have? This was pointed out last evening when they made light of the wins by team of pitchers under 30. Florida was 2, cub was 5, Oakland was 1. An outing like Burnett's Sunday and last eve by Wood or Prior the last two games and the cub plays Saturday. I would love to have both of them.
  19. For the first time this postseason I am going to watch without thinking about cheering for teh team that is more likly to beat the cubs. Tonight's game should be great as I could really careless who wins but want to see a great game. All things aside I really really like the way the Marlins played. Maybe Ozzie will be here yet and maybe that isn't such a bad thing. The little thing about the wild pitch last Saturday may have helped in the end and isn't Josh Beckett what Prior and Wood are to be?

They are taking them out like crazy. I would say the last ten rows, at least, are gone from the entire upperdeck. Not sure why we are kept in the dark. San Fran has renamed their park SBC park. They sure are spending enough dough on ballpark names, don't they own US Cellular "Kept in the dark.."? It was in the paper... just not online. What are the plans for the removed seats? That is what I am in the dark on. I can see the seats are gone. What was reported on this other than the seats are no longer there?
  21. The kid was a SS at the start of the season, moved to third to replace Lowell when he was going to be traded, moved to left, back to third and then at the start of this series to right. He showed something that nobody on the Sox has, pure baseball skills. The guy never player rightfield, EVER, and the play in the gap and the diving catch were great. On the ball he hit to first last evening he was looking over his shoulder to make sure the run scored which was his only intent. He is 20 and accomplished more then Lee or Ordonez. He got a huge hit in a huge game and played awesome defense. The Marlins would chuckle at each of these players. Not to mention he is making no money at all. Juan Encarnacion had a good year and is an excellent defensive palyer and he was never seen in this series because of Cabrera.

  23. If cubs lose he is dead man walking and even if they win some ASSCLOWN will find him. The situation is NOT a good one. They already did. Tires slashed, home vandelized, etc.. Assholes. What has happened?
  24. Sounds like it's as big as that late May game aginst Seattle
  25. I save my thought on this until morning.
