QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) In order for Munoz to be outrighted, he had to clear waivers right? I am kinda shocked no one took a chance on him. proves Ozzie was right, that he sucks.

White Sox Acquire Infielder Alex Cintron
quickman replied to OfficerKarkovice's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) c. Soxtalk loves Jeff Bajenaru. The only good thing that "the baj" did for us was get Cintron. see ya -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) * KW talked about Jenks getting into shape for his sophomore season. Talks about other closer options in the bullpen if Jenks fails -- Hermanson, Cotts, McCarthy. KW said that when he builds a bullpen he likes to have multiple closing options. Interesting. My 'sources' tell me that Jenks is heavier than last year, now has a bad back, and a sore shoulder. The Sun Times says he just slept on it wrong and the shoulder should be fine in a day or two. The shoulder that hurts is his left one, so I actaully believe the sleep story on that, but the weight thing is disturbing.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) Hey, the way the man treats his couches is his own business. Who are we to judge? What he does behind closed doors is of no concern to me. Funny man

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Jesus Christ. Kenny. I agree with you 100%. Everything you said was dead on. Now, none of it should have been said. When does professionalism come into play? Ozzie is hung-over on the day he interviews for the job, KW lashes back at Frank... This no-bulls*** approach WAS a breath of fresh air, but now I feel like its too much. Stop talking and play f***ing baseball and repeat... but stop acting like idiots. This kind of crap happened last year with Maggs and Carlos Lee. Everyone was fine. None of the players or orgs are very professional anymore. Steinbrenner makes his guys shave and wear suits to the ball park, yet the guy is a lunatic treating his coaches and staff like s***, and calling out his players. Every org has issues. this is nothing.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) At this point, I only care about this for 1 reason: our entire team is going to get asked about it. For days, this is all we're going to hear about. When the A's, the team that annoys us the most, comes to town, again, this is all we're going to hear about. I really hope this doesn't cost us games. That's the only thing I care about. We got through the Magglio thing last year because the team rallied around each other and let Ozzie deal with it. I just hope our locker room, which has had a lot of turnover, is strong enough to do so again. If our team holds together through this, I could care less what KW and Frank have to say to each other, and Frank will still get a nice statue about 510 feet from home plate some day. But if this costs us games...i will be very, very, very angry about it, and that anger will be directed at KW, since he's the one escalating it now. This is nothing. Before we won, most people around here might have been happy that ESPN would be talking about the Whitesox instead of the yankees. s*** like this happens anytime you win. frank is a baby, and quite frankly the guy won't make it throught he year. He got paid for what he did. He was loved by fans, and catered too like a baby. See ya.

With the exception of Ozzie the ego's are gone. Frank was the last one, and should have kept his mouth shut. When KW responded although a bit over zealous, he sent a message to this team. Check the ego at the door, play ball, shut up, and the org will help you. The players don't give one s*** about loyalty as they strive for the most dollars. Go ask maggs. By the way I don't miss his ass either. Frank Thomas was my favorite player as the years passed and stupid things came out of his mouth he just became a player.

Harder to trade a guy two years older

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) I cant even express how much I agree with this post. Which part Rock? Gload is horrible in the outfield and the sox really don't need to carry 3 first baseman. Quite frankly I do not understand why people are enamored with this guy. He is not needed on this team. I really don't understand Ozzie saying that he is on the team right now. Completely senseless. What message is that sending to the others? I personally think with a good spring Ben grieve makes this team. I am not a fan of Grieve but in my opinion he is the same guy as gload but better in the outfield. ( I know he bats right handed) He was brought in for a reason, and it was not to push Borchard, who will be gone by the end of spring training. If Grieve has a lousy spring than maybe Gload stays but its just not a match.

I just heard him on MLB radio today. he is coming out with a bok that has all this stuff in it. The guy truly believes in this stuff and he truly believes in out of body experiences. It really must drive his family goofy.

I don't know if you caught him on tape via Local channel 7 but they showed him pitching. He is at least 25 pounds over weight. He is out of shape walking into camp. Hope his arm falls off.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) 36K per game... Again.. it would be something.. but it aint happening this year. 2.7 is 33K per game.. that's a long stretch also. Steff i think they did 2.3 million this year and that was with a slow start.(attendance wise) I think 2.7 is very doable especially if they get off to a quick start, say sweep the tribe! Anyway, the park was nice and empty, now the lines begin.

Sox sign 10-year sponsorship deal with Miller Beer
quickman replied to SSH2005's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 05:01 PM) Probably my biggest complaint with the White Sox organization is that they serve Pepsi products at the stadium. Miller is better than Budweiser... but I don't always booze it up at the games. They switch to Coca-cola also, I'll be a happy man Also, gimme three more cashews in those cashew raisins... Jesse jackson JR. owns a pepsi bottling plant on the south side. Add the political ramifications and now you know why they serve Pepsi. there you go. -
QUOTE(Wanne @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Well...being a Californian...you'll probably migrate out here to Phoenix like everybody else and pay cash for a house...then you won't have to worry about it and just go to the games! I'm with ya on the comcast thing...I'd give my left nut to get Chicago Comcast! Get DirectTV and you won't have to give up your left nut.

contreras and dye for abreu and gavin floys?!?
quickman replied to samclemens's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Why is this another thread? Do the kids need to see there names on a starter thread? this has been rumored for a month or more. This has been all over websites. It was there during your Christmas break. Its on the site to address the rumor. Thats it. Although I do think there maybe something to it, later... despite what the teenage crowd thinks of the trade. Didn't the bell ring yet? -
contreras and dye for abreu and gavin floys?!?
quickman replied to samclemens's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Wow, this is the first I've heard of this rumor and I must say it is a doozy. I love Cantrerus and Die but if we can get a guy like Abrayou and a big time catching prospect (even if he is a little older, 28) in Glavis Floods we've gotta do it. DO IT KENNETH, do it. -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) Creating quite the body of work, isnt he? Sometimes its futal to reply, its like arguing with my 9 year old. All emotion, no sense. Do people get sleep or do they stay up at night worried if Buerhle will be here in 2008.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) You are on a roll, just when I thought you couldnt come up with a better idea than Konerko+thome=world series, here comes this. You are a genius my friend. In all seriousness what is happening to this board? Is it youth? boredom, please Rock tell me. I don't post alot anymore, I know Jim won't post much more if at all, the emotion that these players are like friends is idiotic. Buehrle is signed through 2007. Does everyone here need 5 year stability. What if this guy gets hurt this year. Lets all relax and let the Whitesox build another championship. Rock, help me understand, also let me know if you won the $1000. HAH

This guy basically had 4 good months out of his career in the US. Until this past fall he was deemed undependable, but now people want to rush out and give him 10 million. No thanks. He is being paid on scale at 8 million and he is in his mid thirties and pitched alot of innings in Cuba in years past. let him prove it again. If we win the world series again there will be plently of money to sign this guy, If not then let him go. This is the exact reason we got vasquez. All is good.
