  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 12, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) So, anyone think we'll be able to get 2 runs off of Santana? After he struck out 3 of our first 6 guys? sure we will get two runs but the twins will get three more off of jon.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) If this scrub was any good he wouldn't have been a career minor leaguer with four teams. he sucks but it actually goes to show you that our system also sucks right now. i know that is not new news from me! Our stud is up (mcarthy) we really don't have another down there yet. Tracey is not the answer and haeger will have a tough time making it. I think broadway will take longer because he doesn't throw hard enough. anyway not much down there. Which also explains why Boone logan is here. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 11, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) And it all comes down to who's the biggest penis. i guess I am not sure why everyone is so on edge personally attacking others. its really quite ok to dissagree with people. I think our minor league system blows. Others might like it. its no big deal really. What I see happening here is people jumping on others personally because they don't like them rather than not liking there opinion or post. its a shame, the site is slowly alienating people rather than including them. Didn't seem the case a couple of years ago. Just an observation.
  3. Well the score has not reported it in over 90 minutes. Its seems people are starting to back off, which means there may not be a problem yet. Levine is worng more times than right. Griffey should be our center fielder right now if I believed that idiot.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ May 8, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) Hey Mike I understand what you're saying and I did think the bashing went over the top. The flip side of the coin is this guy started the thread asking for confirmation. He asked for confirmation, i.e. had we heard anything? He was asked nicely, at least a couple of times, to indicate how he knew this. If he had a confidentiality, there's a way to say it. This guy immediately came back and said "get your apologies ready, show some class". All he had to say was, "hey, doesn't matter to me if you people believe me but I have a source in Charlotte or I have a source with the family", etc. There are lots of ways he can be more forthcoming without breaking his confidentiality, which I completely respect by the way. That smacked as much of "I know more than you do" as some poster's reactions. I also agree with Alex, coming back on and giving the finger, not good. No disrespect to jason but have we heard anything? I see nothing on any site and I have been listening to the score for the last hour on line. Nothing.
  5. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) People laugh at Jeff Nelson, but this guy has a hand full of rings, has pitched on the game's grandest stages, and is murder on right-handers. We'll see how many are laughing when he develops into a go-to guy in the late innings. I agree Addison, Jeff nelson is signed for the stretch run. He will be a factor in the second half of the season. Right now Boone Logan is keeping his seat warm until he is ready.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ May 2, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) They pick at #29 this year and supposedly the draft is deep in righthanded college pitching and not a whole lot else. Expect them to draft another Lance Broadway type. Catching is always in high demand, White Sox have a couple of guys but no sure bets. Then again, no one is a sure bet. They are also short on pure hitters but based on what minimal research I've done there's not a whole lot available in this draft. Back on topic with Anderson ... he has no confidence right now, and for him that's a bad thing. He's not attacking the ball, he's feeling for it because all the K's have him worried. Guillen will give this guy every chance though. Personally they rushed him because they had too. They traded rowand and they took a shot with anderson. personally I do not think he will be that good offensively... ever, but a servicable 260 hitter with good D in the majors will be his mark. He is not a great player by anymeans
  7. QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ May 1, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) does anybody know what the lowest possible price would be for 2007 Sox season tickets for a guy in his 20's looking to buy the cheapest season tickets available?Would stubhub be a cheaper way? Timo why don't you find a season ticekt holder willing to get rid of 20-25 games and go in with them? Its really a good way to get good seats and spend less.
  8. Well anyway this topic was right up his alley. he loved this kind of crap. Talking about guys that will never make it. Always got me going.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) He's not banned. I am sorry not banned, he was suspended. Thats right.
  10. I thought Jim H would be all over this one. Oh yeah he got banned because a few kids got there panties in a bunch. Children carry on.
  11. I will add this comment; I am a bit surprised at two things in the last three games. The first is the lack of execution with runners in scoring position. Last year we would have brought home a runner from third with less than two outs even if it meant a fly ball. The second is our pitching nit picking their way. They are nippling and not bearing down especially with men on base. They are not attacking the hitters.
  12. I met Jim yesterday in tucson. He was here with his brother and father and we sat next to him while watching the Bradley game. He is fine. Very encouraged at how many whitesox fans come to spring training and recognize him. he is very humble and what I would consider a great pro.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) His history is spotty but my dad says there's been a few write ups about him, they switched him to relief in AAA or AA last year, he did a great job. He changed his mechanics, may have added something to his repetoire too. He is a guy like Borchard, the Dbacks love Daigle, he is a good kid, solid citizen, so if they're forced to move him they want to get him into a good situation. I don't think much of Daigle other than his wife. I just think this guy is a career minor leaguer and we have lots of those.
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) Quickman loves these guys. Unreal at how much they all suck. Four straight doubles.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) OBVIOUSLY Hindsight is 20/20, but I dont understand why surgery wasnt done the day after we won the Series. Actually I remember hermanson on the radio answering that question, He said if they do surgery then his career in baseball is over. He was waiting until after his career to have it done. Apparently the surgery is quite severe and would require no more abuse (like sports)
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Actually from 29th and Halsted in Bridgeport . This is the first time I'm not going to Tucson in the last 6 years, for spring training anyways. Will probably go down there this fall. I have always made it a habit to get away from the tourist traps and chain places so I can really learn about a city and its people. To me it's a lot more interesting. Don't forget about Frog and Firken and Gentle Ben's, just steps from the main gate of U of A. Those two are great for nightlife and directly across the street from one another. Quickman will be at several games the next 10 days, you may want to drop him a note. He'll be at the Sox-Milwaukee game in Phoenix on Sun. for sure and then several more next week. I understand he will be one of the grounds crew at a game in Surprise or he has a connection and gets to go on the field or something. If you see two guys arguing over that rake they use for the pitchers mound, it will likely be Quickman and Arnie Munoz. Yes I will be there the next two weeks, the first week in tucson, and yes I will be on the field in Surprise for the texas game next week, but to be sure, the only rake I will pick up is one that is in a sand trap. But it would not surprise me to see Munoz out there raking because that will be his new job soon.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) Yup, that's him, the guy with an expiring contract, with post-season experience, and wore the White Sox uniform in October. That's the one. I know where your coming from but not with that salary.
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) You disappoint me. Take a look at who they have in camp, a ton of guys and they aren't gonna have spots for all of them. Casey Daigle is a good example, you know who he's married to, right? he sucks, I would rather have his wife pitch.
  19. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) TQ, if there's one thing I'm interested in at Arizona, it's Borchard's approach at the dish. Let us know if you see him doing anything, anything at all, differently that shows he might be able to put it all together. Because, when push comes to shove, it looks like either Gload or Borchard are going to be on a bus elsewhere and I want to know which of the two would serve this team better. you bet, I will live at the park for practices in the morning and games in the afternoon. Bars at night...
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) I guess my flippant answer would be, until we win another World Series. A serious answer is, they know one anothers systems really well, they have a good working relationship, they are not rivals, so the Dbacks are a good trading partner. Dbacks have some fringe guys who can fit. I love to listen to Farmer and Harrelson talk up guys on other teams and speculate. It happened today with this Terrero guy and also with Vizcaino. The Sox would love to have Vizcaino back. Unorthodox? Yes. But then again KW is somewhat unorthodox in his methods. Well I have no idea what we would offer them for viz. This really doesn't make much sense to me from the AZ side.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) I'm expecting yet another deal with the Diamondbacks. Ok Jim I understand the hunches based on the chatter of our announcers, but we need relievers, fast. The D backs have little
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) I expect a deal with Oakland in the next few days. Just a hunch. for who
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Players don't always know their own bodies. Mark Prior thought he was fine until today. Now he is off to see an elbow specialist. When Podsednik is swinging the stick toward the end of ST and playing on opening day, then I will feel fine. we should ask steve stone, he is on a roll
  24. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) It's over. 2-1 Dominican Republic. sorry I forgot I rewound the tivo
  25. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) Talk about MRI's on shoulders, paging Antonio Osuna. However if we plan on pitching to Sammy Sosa this year I say bring him in. I say bring him in now. 1 out away from Garcia being back
