I think if the Cubs were to get Crawford it would involve Pie and Marmol.

For those of you have CoD4: Is the online play in COD4 like it was in COD3 where you basically have the germans and americans and you choose what guy you want and get that weapon set... OR Is it more like Rainbow Six where you can actually customize your character (camo, armor, etc.) and make up your own weapon set. For example, I want gun "A" and I want to put attachment "B" on it.

ooh wow... yeah, I've changed my mind.

I think Tulowitzki should have been NL ROY, but then again I want to have his babies.

QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) i think the game looks decent...but I don't like going through the game and running into non stop pirates everywhere you turn. I really saw no puzzles or such to give the game diversity. It's just a demo though. From what I have read, there are plenty of puzzles in the game, and they are quite challenging. The only thing that is keeping me from getting this game is that it doesn't offer much in terms of anything after you beat the game. So, it depends on how long the story is for me. So right now, it is between Assassins Creed and Uncharted for me.

my only question is who would lead off? But then again, we don't need a leadoff hitter with a middle of the order of: 3. Cabrera 4. Thome 5. Konerko 6. Dye
-
If we get Cabrera we should sign him to an extension for about 10 years at 200 million.
-
also, I'd trade either Danks or Gio, whichever one Florida wantsmore.

this is good news so far...

as sad as that is, humans are omnivores, and I believe in the food chain.

my early top 10... 01. de los Santos - duh 02. Gonzalez - duh 03. Carter - Our best offensive prospect right now 04. Egbert - can't ignore the numbers 05. Sweeney - still has a lot of upside 06. Shelby - put together a breakout season 07. Poreda - put up good numbers but is still a major ? 08. Broadway - looked good in his cup of coffee 09. Martinez - still too early, but looks like we might have something here 10. Getz - looked like he was going to have a very good season until injury
-
when did Poreda start throwing right handed?

Chad Qualls for Ryan Sweeney was talked about...
BearSox replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I'll say it now... Qualls would only upgrade the pen minimally, if at all. He usually has his good months, and then he has his months of getting his s*** knocked around. Add that to the fact he will be facing tougher AL lineups over 90% of the time, he wouldn't be that much of an upgrade in the pen. Right now I think we have a good core for our pen... CL: Jenks SU: MacDougal SU: Thornton LOOGY: Logan ROOGY: Wassermann MacDougal and Thornton are better then how they preformed and I guess we have gotta hope for the best and not have them suck. I think we can fill one spot with someone from within (Perez, Broadway, Vasquez, Massett, etc.) or perhaps a signing out of the Japanese market, but we still need to get another set up man, and I don't think Qualls is that guy. -

Chad Qualls would be public enemy no. 1 here. He would post a sub 4 ERA, and struggle to hold leads late in games. It's one thing to want to upgrade the bullpen and use a prospect to do so. But it is another thing to offer up someone with a whole lot of upside for someone who is awfully mediocre. -
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 03:09 PM) Don't cite stats if you don't know how they're tabulated. A blown hold is technically a blown save. But you don't get credit for the save unless you finish the game, allowing numbskulls to make statement like he has only 6 saves in 19 opportunities... According to baseball-reference Qualls has entered a game in what would be considered a save (or hold) opportunity 93 times. He has blown 12 of those opportunites, which works out to an 87% save percentage. By comparison, Bobby Jenks has a career save percentage of 88%. Well then he can't hold a lead late in a game. Whats the difference. The only difference is that these come in the 7th and 8th instead of the 9th.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) Sweeney isn't too great either. Fine, you wanna go with the low blows? Egbert ain't anything special either.
-
What is so great about Qualls? He is horrible under pressure (which is evident by his 6 SV's in 19 career opportunities). He is a decent-good pitcher and all, but with the Sox in the AL Qualls probably puts up a 4+ ERA and gets b****ed at by everyone on the board because quite frankly, he isn't that great.
-
Get Luke Scott!
-
eww, that would be a horrible deal for the Sox if you ask me. Looks like Sox fans aren't the only ones who hate Garland as well.
-
I don't like the idea of spending a bazillion bucks on one of the 3 overrated centerfielders, but since it seems likely it will happen, my order of preference is probably... 1. Hunter, 2. Rowand, 3. Jones.
-
Bonser for Rolen I can see if the Cards don't have to pick up any of the salary. Bonser's ERA might be 4.5 in the weak NL Central.

75% on Crede...
