  1. Carter has been beastly once again. And Gomes seems to be finally showing some of that great potential I've heard so much about.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:39 AM) That can't be true. Just ask anyone, no one from the Sox minor leagues can come up and hit right away.... Yeah, but Sweeney is a ball player... the rest were athletes. Borchard - athlete. Anderson - athlete. etc.
  3. can someone with smarts look up where Danks ranks in run support compared to the rest of the pitchers in the league?
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 9, 2007 -> 07:00 AM) OK now that is just hilarious. It wasn't too long ago that everyone would have been screaming because Ozzie didn't take Vaz out after the 5th inning, now he is supposed to let him go over 110 pitches? LMAO. Vazquez was dealing. You let your pitcher pitch. He has been argueably the teams best pitcher, and when you are facing a divisional rival, you should let the pitcher stay in. Vazquez sucking in the 5th+ was last year, but this is this year. I guarentee you that Vazquez didn't want to be taken out, and I doubt him throwing an extra 10-13 pitches would effect him as when you are dealing, you are dealing. The thing is, pitchers are being babied in todays game. To try and prevent arm injury, teams get scared when a pitcher pitches a lot, but the reality is, most of the time, a pitcher can throw 120+ without getting injured. Hell, in college the pitchers could throw 150+ pitches in a game. I am a firm believer of letting your starter start. Javy was dealing, his pitch count wasn't that high, and it was against a divisional rival. If we were facing someone like the Rangers, I'd probably agree with you, but we weren't.
  5. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 8, 2007 -> 11:16 PM) R.I.P. Satanic Souls.. We hardly knew ye...
  6. Down with Greg Walker... I still blame him for at least half the losses.
  7. You don't know what you are talking about. He doesn't have a designed cookie pitch. Two mistakes = two big hits. Bad location. Those fastballs aren't aimed belt ^, but for around the knees.
  8. I know you don't want to burn out Javy's arm, but at a divisional rival, you have to let Javy pitch, IMO. I am a big supporter in letting the pitchers pitch, and I really felt this was one of those times. Send him out to begin the 8th, and see what happens. Let him have maybe 10-13 more pitches, with Mac and Thornton warming up behind him. If he throws a lot of pitches or struggles a little, then take him out. If not, let him finish the inning. And then put Bobby in the 9th. Javy pitched fabulous tonight. But I don't blame this on Ozzie at all. When the team has a 4-1 lead going into the eight, it nobody to blame but the players. Sure some of the IBB's were questionable, but this wasn't Ozzie's fault at all. He wasn't the one who left a cookie belly-button high to Morneu.
  9. Javy was only at 107 and was dealing. I know 107 might be a little too much, but he should have at least started the 8th, and if he got up around the 120 mark, then taken out.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2007 -> 05:47 PM) Not sure why Ozuna continues to play against RHP. I wonder if Mackowiak is slightly injured? Mack has suckedd A lately, especially in runners in scoring position... Thats not to say the rest of the team has done so as well, but he especially.
  11. also, I don't see how the could ever turn the MLB Draft into something like the NFL Draft. MLB Draft is 50 rounds. Be kinda tough to have something like the NFL Draft for 50 rounds, and I doubt they would make it a week long process.
  12. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ May 8, 2007 -> 12:53 AM) I don't know if Tiger fans are too dumb to do it, I wouldn't put anything past them. I grew up a Tiger fan, so I've seen their fans do a little bit of everything. I got wise and switched to the Sox in 1976. Well, you were a smart one switching over to the Sox.
  13. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 7, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) What kind of loser hacks a White Sox message board? Easy... Cubs fan, Twins fan, or Indians fan. Tiger fans are too dumb to do so, and Royal fans just dont care anymore....
  14. where does it say that? nevermind, I found it now.
  15. I still get giddy whenever Jack does his stuff... I think I am gay for Jack Bauer.
  16. I don't know about you guys, but whenever someone dies, I would love it if a little box at the top would pop up with Hawk saying "He gone!"
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 7, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) FutureSox will help with the Sox, if Jason still exists. He lives in a hole in my basement now... he won't put the lotion in the basket though.
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 7, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Let's hope Honel has a good outing tonight. you ask and you shall receive... except for that fact he has 6 walks, he had a pretty good outing. One can say it was more impressive because he had to constantly pitch around his walks.
  19. I really wish there was a baseball draft website... a free one. Like all of those NFL Draft websites or Basketball draft websites. I don't have much time to follow college sports as I'd like, but those sites help me a ton.
  20. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 6, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) The last time the Sox played against a Yankee Clemens was fun. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NY...200308260.shtml that was a badass offense back then.
  21. QUOTE(striker62704 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) He turned his head and waited like 2 seconds for the ball to hit the wall. He could have caught it. Rowand would have. lol, no offense, but that is one of the more stupid things I have heard in a while... He played that perfectly.
  22. Sweeney >>>> anyone else we could put in LF Some say he should be the RF for the future, but I like him LF. He is left handed, which is an advantage to help keep runners from advancing to 1st to 2nd on balls down the line, and Sweeney has a powerful arm to go with it. Plus, he played that ball off the wall perfectly today, and threw a laser to Cintron. And now he is starting to hit. Pods won't be back until June at the earliest, so the rest of this month should be Sweeney's trial run. He should only not play if a tough lefty is pitching or he is doing just terribly bad. I think he is really going to light it up, and if he does so, he should never see a day in the Minors again. Plus, he has shown very good speed, better then I anticipated. And he has that "grinder" attitude. Not on AB of his have I seen him not hustle.
  23. Long with a good outing...
  24. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 6, 2007 -> 04:50 PM) Too bad he's not hitting 95. The gun had him at 96...
