  1. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) So, you are not counting Sosa's years with the Sox but you will count Griffey's half season? He said the "ones that are clean (never really linked to anyone)" Sosa doesn't fit that criteria.
  2. I forget which one is higher or considered better... is Great Falls or Bristol the higher level?
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) Dye was never injured on the Sox for an extended period of time in his first two seasons. Carlos Quentin has missed like a quarter of the games he's had on the Sox in two years. In Dye's earlier years, he battled a lot of injuries and teams eventually gave up on him, we came in, signed him cheap, and got one of the best FA signings in the past 10 years, I'd say.
  4. Remember Dye, he was "injury prone". I say shut down Q for the rest of the season and get his foot in the best possible condition it can be for February 2010, whether it be surgery, therapy, ice and heat, new shoes, whatever the hell it takes. Just cause he's had some injuries, you don't give up on his offensive potential. But there really is no need to risk him making it worse this year. Lets face, even if we somehow win the division, we won't go far in the playoffs.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) On inflation, that's so far been a non-issue, and I think its likely to stay one. And what the heck are you talking about on the third point? Inflation is a huge issue if we don't stop printing money like crazy.
  6. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) sucks for him. even though i'm a solid D, I can readily admit that it does not effect his job as Senator. But its going to be a bit of hell for him. Just ask... - Bill Clinton - John Edwards - Henry Hyde - David Vitter - Ted Kennedy who else am i forgetting? Spitzer... I heard both JFK and RFK were both big time womanizers (well JFK obviously, Marylin Monroe).
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) I heard about this on Glenn Beck. Obama just eliminated the only real check on power that people had over his community organizer friends. Wanna see something funny? Inspector General Reform Act of 2008 (co-sponsored by Obama) (a) ESTABLISHMENTS.—Section 3 of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking the second sentence and inserting ‘‘If an Inspector General is removed from office or is transferred to another position or location within an establishment, the President shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer. Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal.’’. Yeah, Obama didn't do that. Well, you know, he was investigating Obama's BFF Kevin Johnson (who wound up being dirty, but that doesn't matter if your BFF's with the prez).
  8. I hope we sign Arguelles. It really would make up for all the lack of players we sign in Latin America...
  9. For an advanced bat like Phegley, I hope he starts out in at least Kanny.
  10. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the tenth, got runners on 1st and 2nd, Scotty Pods up, 2-1 count, guess fastball at the exact location... bam! Walk off 3 run shot to win the game by Scotty Pods! Over the patio deck in RF!!!
  11. Speaking of new stadiums, is Charlotte gonna get a new stadium or has that been put on hold? I'd love Charlotte get a new stadium. I don't like the idea of our top prospects playing in a bandbox that could possibly lead to bat habits (in other words, they get home run happy playing there). I'm not saying it even has to be a pitchers park, just less of a hitters park it is now.
  12. Why is no one reporting this: http://www.infowars.com/service-inspector-...-kevin-johnson/
  13. Aaron Poreda is a beast in MLB The Show. A running fastball that can get up to 98 (averages around 95-96), a 2 seam fastball that can get up to 96, a good slider, and a sick changeup... As soon as Q comes back, I'll be dominating Online. Right now, I use Castro as my catcher, AJP at 3B, and Fields in LF with Pods in CF for maximum offensive output. When CQ comes back, I'll either move Fields to 2B and take out Beckham or take out Casto.
  14. I hope Hood comes back to eithe 670 or 1000... I don't know why anyone thought internet radio was a good idea.
  15. I'm calling BS on this. If he felt so bad, why did he wait a week after he made the "joke." Also, this apology came after CBS lost an advertiser.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) Looking at his stats then comparing them against one at bat. Pretty quality insight of what the player could be. Looking at stats, the account of this AB, and from what I've read via scouting reports and such... yeah, I'd say it's a safe assumption that he has a tendency to look for the walk instead of hitting the ball.
  17. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 01:45 PM) I really doubt Letterman knew which daughter was there to be honest. In fact, I doubt he even wrote the joke. And for that matter, the jokes weren't even really about Palins as they were about A-Rod and Spitzer for being sexual predators. But, its a great way for Palin to keep in the news for her 2012 run. Yeah, I'm sure the "joke" about Palin looking like a slutty flight attendant wasn't about her. I love how all the feminist groups have no problem with these jokes... shows how much they are about "equality" for women, it's just all politics with them and the groups like them.
  18. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 06:05 AM) Yeah it's too bad Tiller didn't let women give birth to babies who had severe or fatal birth defects or keep mothers from having "substantial and irreversible impairment" of their bodies. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124379172024269869.html ...and I'm sure you'd be one of the first right wingers to complain about a drug addicted mother receiving federal aid to take care of her child. That's all fine and dandy if that was the case, but it wasn't. There have been several testamonies where Tiller killed the babies for trivial reasons such as the Mother didn't want to change her life style, etc. The head of psychology (he's retired now) at I believe John Hopkins University stated that many of the abortions were unnecessary and for trivial reasons. I found it, Dr. Paul McHugh: Here's an account of an abortion... man, this Tiller guy sounds great! He is a hero!
  19. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 10:12 AM) You're right, and Letterman did not specifically indicate Willow Palin, either. But I'm sure, that's different. It's always different. Um, Willow was at the game with Sarah. Bristol wasn't.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) What does that have to do with anything? We were talking about Jennings and the reason why he didn't play college ball was because he couldn't pass hi extrance exams to get into Arizona. So, he decided just to go to Europe and play pro there.
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) "to dumb", eh? I used the wrong "too", but at least I can get into college.
  22. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) I thought 6 was untouchable, even for Beckham? I think it probably is, but we shouldn't unofficially retire it. It's not like Lau was with the white sox organization for an extremely long time. I like Lau, and we should honor him in some way, but I don't agree with unofficially retiring his number, which it seems like we're doing.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) There was no one feeling positive. No one ever feels positive after a 4-game sweep. Maybe after Minnesota, Pittsburgh, LAA, or KC. This team also plays pretty well on the road, which is weird. If they ever figure it out at home, they are going to be a very solid team. I meant the games after the Toronto series. I phrased that badly.
  24. QUOTE (Nixon @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 04:26 PM) It's free if you've got a staircase. You are easily becoming one of my favorite posters...
