Catch-All Anything Thread
^^ I would not necessarily discount a phone call, but in person is usually better. I would also plan on sending him a letter in early March, mentioning you are graduating soon, and exploring options and would like to discuss their summer plans.

Sean Taylor~~ Rest In Peace
My speculations seem so inappropriate at this moment. But the fact is the vast number of home robbers never carry a gun. That increases the penalty if they are caught. My prayers to his family and friends, especially his daughter.

A Look at the Hunter "Courtship"
QUOTE(Linnwood @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 02:20 AM) Hunter lives, as I understand it, in Texas. So it doesn't matter what the income tax is in IL or CA, as he wouldn't be paying it. (This is the reason so many professional athletes, as well as members of the military, claim Florida as home. They have no income tax.) Regarding the article, It bothers me how both the White Sox and the Rangers made concerted efforts to convince Hunter that they were teams that could win and would be good fit, and in the end Anaheim invited him to a fast food restaurant, threw a pile of money at him and said "So?" I'm just glad KW didn't try to out bid LAA. State taxes are decided by where you earn them. http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Taxes/P112872.asp They can avoid some income taxes on endorsements and other off the field stuff, but he will be paying California income tax for his Angels salary, at least for home games.

There are some crazy expensive estate bottled tequilas that are unbelievable smooth sipping. I've been to a tequila tasting or two and really enjoyed myself.

Trent Lott resigning
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) The person this really sucks for is the MS voter. He/she putt Lott back in for a six year term last year. If Lott was so bored with the Senate then, why did he want re-election? Things change in a hurry sometimes. With all these twists and turns I'm grabbing a bowl of popcorn and watching

A Look at the Hunter "Courtship"
The question I have is at what price could LA have signed him? They went to 90, 15 over the Sox. Could they have gotten him for 85? 80? 75? Seems like they left a lot of money on the table.

Which Sox Player Would Win in a Fight??
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) I said Brian Anderson; I assume that with how much he parties, he has quite a bit of experience. I will always take experience in this situation. If this was a hocley team, he's the guy you would want out there in the fight, no way you would want to risk a third line player

Black Friday
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) Salt Springs, north-central part of the National Forest. Scenic 4-mile spring run to Lake George. Lots of Florida Trail Association trails. Also a lot of deer hunters to try to steer clear of, but we make sure not to put our kids in their antler hats when we go out hiking. . . I refuse to wait until next Thanksgiving to camp again. I'm trying to figure out where to go for a trip in January or February. Did you have to hand over hand the canoe down the springs?

Black Friday
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 10:38 AM) I bought two bundles of firewood and a half-day canoe rental. Family camping has become the Thanksgiving tradition, and this year we were up in Ocala National Forest. The slow-roasted campfire turkey came out wonderful and threats of heavy downpours never materialized. Being back at work sucks arse. Clearwater Lake?

Huckabee unloads on the Saudis.
Southsider brings up a great point regarding prices and energy policy. IMNSHO, Americans would rather have oil dependence at low prices than energy independence at higher prices. We talk about how nice it would be but we will not actually pay for it. Either at then pump or in the environment.
