  1. No matter how well the team did or didn't play, the place was fun. It was entertainment. Something I haven't seen again at a mlb facility but I see in unaffiliated and minor league parks.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) I'll believe it when I see it. This could very well be a guy worried about getting booed all year, so he is just saying all of the right things. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 11:27 AM) pure politics. Now the blame is soley going to be on the Sox when we cant match the offer. And I applaud Mark for being PR savy enough to do that.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) Damn, I feel bad for Brandon... Hopefully he gets his stuff straightened out. The kid always went out of his way for people on Soxtalk, and I wish him nothing but the best. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It has been so easy to pull for him.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 09:07 AM) So I guess that means the people who didn't believe that this could weaken a structure enough to make it collapse were wrong. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18392684/ It's all part of the cover up of the government's continuing conspiracy regarding 9/11
  5. If we think there is gridlock and pork in Washington with two parties, toss in a third. Nothing would happen unless two of the three aligned. Having said that, I love choice and I like the idea of a coalition running. There are DINOs and RINOs out there that in reality would fit perfect in this party, or so it seems.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:41 AM) What are you talking about? Is this some kind of Popcorn flavoured petrol? Used cooking oils are being processed for use as a fuel. I've heard of a french fry odor. but not popcorn. Here is a link from your edge of the world http://www.nowpublic.com/cooking_oil_into_fuel wiki on the subject http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegoil
  7. It was the summer that all my friends and myself were getting our drivers licenses. Scary driving the expressways the same week we got our license, but we did. I probably saw more games that summer than any other year. Singing with Nancy was incredible. It was really cool when the old guys like FlaSoxxJim and YASNY would buy us sodas

  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) At least Condi really loved him. Only in a massage-ey way I'm sure. OMG wht if they find Condi on "the list"
  11. It is a shame that from all indications a very good guy felt he had to resign.
  12. Linkage Liar. I would have more respect if he said he used the service for sex. Clinton inhaled and Tobias used the service for sex. There are legit massage therapy services he would have called.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 12:14 AM) Yes to 15 stitches above the eye. Better yet, yes to an emergency room that got me in and out in 45 minutes (talk about amazing). The worse part was our freaking team lost the game too so I took the elbow to the head in vein and we got eliminated from the playoffs with the loss. Yes to some pain killers?
  14. I hope that is true. For some reason I've been positrive about Mark staying with the Sox.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) Who even gives a f*** anymore? It's become so played out, every time a player does something positive offensively you get to hear about how he's probably on some sort of performance enhancing drug. I'm just so f***ing sick of the lameass speculation about EVERYONE. What's the point anymore? If there were two leagues, the performance enhancing league where anything goes and the all-natural organic league, which league would draw better? 550 foot monster homeruns and 100 mph pitches or Small ball and knuckleballers?
  16. Sadly we could go one for one on these. I doubt this family would agree that a gun was good protection for the, Child Killed in Accidental Shooting A five-year-old boy who was shot by his 8-year-old brother Friday died several hours later at Carolinas Medical Center. The accidental shooting happened just before 8 a.m. at the family's home on Linwood Road. Investigators said the two boys and their mother were getting ready for school at Cramerton Christian Academy when the shooting happened. The boys' father was out of town when he was notified about the shooting. Police have not released any other information.
  17. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) I think this about sums it up. The arrest may have been over the top, and when it's all sorted out, I don't think there should be any charges. But, it's along the lines of 'don't yell FIRE in a crowded theater. After 9-11, you don't make bomb jokes at the airport. Right or wrong, after VT, you're probably going to get scrutinized more if your writing assignments dwell on violent massacres. Great comment and a great analogy. You changed my mind on this.
  18. I'm not certain how to write the rule to eliminate the obvious stuff that is wrong from the minor that clearly would not have an effect on the game. Do we think that for a moment a team would play harder if they knew four bottles of Champagne were up for grabs? How many bottles were showered on the Sox in 2005? If this was Mark Buerhle getting fined and/or suspended we'd be up in arms like you wouldn't believe.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 05:54 AM) You think he could've changed the sock during the game? B I N G O !! Why didn't the trainer insist on it? They could have changed socks without changing the bandage.
  20. On the likability front and the "which candidate would I want to watch my kids for a weekend" I'm leaning towards McCain. I really liked him in 2000, my only worry is the years have not been kind.
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:43 AM) See that's where you and I are different. You see that, and assume that means that the GOP is the ultimate evil media machine. I hear that and say what is the other side of the story. I find it interesting that somehow the democrats are this bunch of inept bumbling fools, who have this horrible disadvantage, because they never thought to be mean to anyone else in their whole lives. The poor guys can't even get their message out. Awww, poor democrats. I am sure that there is no chance that there isn't an equally effective movement that decries everything that Republicians say as either the rantings of religious wackos, or a neo-con conspiracy to try to take over the world, or control the worlds oil markets, or take down everyone who disagees with them, or completely disregard the law (because no other public officials have ever done that), who hate everyone who isn't a white christian male, who only care about the rich, and supply every man-woman-child in the country with a machine gun so that they can kill freely anyone who looks at them funny. Nope, it is just the evil Republicians. I don't think they are an evil media machine. I think the GOP has an advantage with the media. Their followers will dismiss unfavorable stories. If I was a political strategist, I'd want that for my candidate. Why try to manipulate the media, and both sides would dearly like to do that, when you can just let them print anything and have it not matter? They cloned Reagan in that regard. That's American style politics and I applaud them. I don't think that alters their message or makes it better or worse. You think the DEMs have an advantage in the media, so be it. I can't see how anyone could disagree that the GOP has an absolute lock on talk radio 24/7. I don't think Republicans want to hurt America, they love American as much as any liberal. It's the vision for America that differs. I also think if you look at this ideological tug of war, it doesn't move us too far from center, no matter how hard either side is allowed to pull.
  22. What is the body count in most action thrillers? This seems so unreal. Based on this, how can we allow Stephen King to be walking free? Check the kids video games as well.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) No thats great be proud! Mexicans are better at this than anyone else. I mean who else gets to break laws and have people make excuses for them, while taking jobs and draining $40 billion from the US economy last year, which was sent to in cash Mexico, never to be spent in the US again. Can you think of anyone else who has a better set up? they must control a lot of TV and radio stations to convince everyone how great they are. But hey they are the greatest, and should be pround! Viva la Mexico! We are confusing two issues. I believe it is fair to examine police tactics. If they planned this to intimidate AMERICANS HERE LEGALLY from their right to free speech, that is wrong and should be addressed. If they had a legitimate belief that their lives were at risk and that show of force was the best way to arrest these criminals while keeping honest innocent Americans safe, then I support them. I never said, NEVER SAID, that those should not have been arrested, and what they were/are doing is OK. Just because there are some Mexicans here illegally, doesn't mean that Americans who have Mexican ancestry should lose their rights and be treated like criminals. You obviously disagree.
