OJ is back
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) No he can't be re-tried for the Murders. Correct. The SOL doesn't apply, because he received a fair trial. The Fifth Amendment prevents a person form being tried twice for the same crimes.

For GOP only
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) And one more that of course never hit the MSM... http://www.investors.com/editorial/editori...247191278714751 A non Union Dem just like me. Not too many of us around Dem circles. It's nice to know she can have a conserative bone in her body and still be accepted. The author seems to imply that non union workers are the same as illegals. Not nice.

For Dems only.
He is the President and it is IMHO, his right to nominate whomever he feels is the best candidate for the positions. The American voter is smart enough to know if it really is a viable candidate or not. If the Dems block good people because of political ideology, they lose. If Bush nominates inadequate people because of political ideology, he loses.

Most talented Beatle?
Pete Best. No doubt about it in my mind. If we are limiting this to the Fab 4, I'd go Paul with one caveat, it was so much better with Lennon around.

Crazy One Issue Party
If elected I would require every citizen to visit, via non motorized means, a State or National Park twice a year and must identify ten birds or animals by sound.

Skewering vote results.
http://democrats.senate.gov/pdfs/RealSecurity_web.pdf I will not try and summarize a 123 page report, but above is the Democratic plan. Real Security addresses five subjects: Iraq, the War on Terror, homeland security, the state of the US military, and energy independence. It has been released since March of 2006, and largly ignored by the conservative media. Again, just because the conservatives keep saying something, doesn't make it true.

"PA's Ask a Candidate" Thread
Most of your platform consists of "It's a state's rights issue". If there is a checkerboard of different laws on abortion, guns, welfare, and etc. wouldn't that create an interstate problem? If we are the United States of America, shouldn't we be united on the big issues?

Direct Deposit
QUOTE(mreye @ Nov 15, 2006 -> 07:38 AM) Deep down I love it, but I hate the way I got it. I was one of the last holdouts in the company and HR kept on my ass - "It's easier for me, wah wah wah!" Little did she know that's the reason I wouldn't sign up - she was all about her and even though I knew the benefits she never went that route. Finally my wife made me do it. I ran into the same issue at my office. HR didn't want to continue to overnight the pay checks, and one guy was holding out. Of course his was the deposit that was screwed up I wrote about.

Skewering vote results.
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) When a party can come to power under a platform that is made of nothing, it's a sad testament to who was in power. You sound like a tape of every conservative talk show. The Dems have a platform, have a plan. Rush and Hannity repeating over and over again that the Dems have no plan, doesn't make it true.

For Dems only.
I like the sentiment, even though I dislike some of the planks in his list. I especially pray for this one

Vote for Change
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Given that the markets have been going up for a while, including after the elections, I'd say the experts on the economic picture for the nation are not overly concerned. Imagine the absurdity of Americans placing body bags ahead of financial gains. It's Un-American

The Official Soxtalk Poster Elections - Discussion Thread
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) Which is funny because I had to move your post as well, Mr. Kinky. I placed the platform in that thread and came here to discuss. As per your instructions. I assumed you wanted one neat thread with just platforms and all the discussions in another.

Vote for Change
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Finally you get it. Until we have another great Texan to take his place, he'll have to do. Maybe Delay in '08 is still a possibility. If not, let's get Jeb and keep the BFD* going. *Bush Family Dynasty.

The Official Soxtalk Poster Elections - Discussion Thread
I am declaring early. I'll allow the other candidates to use their fancy polling groups to decide what they believe in. I know where I stand and don't need three days to figure that out. Haven't we had enough representatives that can't make a decision without running to outside consultants and pollsters?
