  1. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) 1 last note.. Yes.. Been watching Mark Martin since he was driving the Folgers car back in 88.. Sports loves.. 1. Baseball 2. Racing 3. Football 4. Titty bars.... 1/2 the interests are sports After you've been around for a while, that will make sense.
  2. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) LMFAO! The how would you see?
  3. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) It's cool. And I appreciate you guys letting me in here to vent a little. Not to mention, you boys are a hell of a lot more interesting than the mutts where I normally hang out.. Hate to say it, but I have to do some work... Good luck gents, and i'll try and get back in to read some more later or tomorrow.. WD He's never make a good Sox fan, he works when he should be posting.
  4. Actually it was getting boring until wiredawg stopped by.
  5. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Easy now.. I haven't called a single person in here any names.. Nope.. Just trying to point out the irony of the situation.. Hindsite and all that good s***.. You know.. wiredawg, are you into motor sports?
  6. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) You guys gonna dump me? Cmon fellas we're arguing baseball. This is good s*** here. If I get personal, tell me and i'll throttle back. I'm glad it's the Sox. I was getting tired of seeing the Twins up there. Like I said, you have been fine, but we do get our unfair share of trolls, and to keep what is left of our sanity after this season, we keep opposing fans on a short leash and also suspend our posters for trolling other boards. There are a lot of woulda coulda shouldas this season for both teams. In order I pull for the Sox, the AL Central, and the AL. So after the Tribe nakes the playoffs as the WC, I will be pulling for you in every series not involving the Sox.
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Actually, he seriously is a hack. But so is the "U can't touch this HAMMER". I know y'all can't believe I'm supporting the Hammer, but one thing I hate more than right wing extremists, are expensive political hack jobs. DeLay s*** in his mess kit with the redistricting, but it was legal. Run a great candidate against him and let the voters knock him out. Doing it this way is wrong. I really think he will be found not guilty. This just is to embarrass the man and the party.
  8. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Delay stepping aside as house leader........for now. GOP rules required it and the Hammer always plays by the rules.
  9. So Chicagoans can understand. This is like Marriotti indicting Hawk, JR, and Kenny. The DEM District Attorney is the biggest political hack in North America.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Quit it. You're making sense and we cannot have that. Part 1 or Part 2
  11. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) If y'all can be civil we'd love to hear from an Indians fan. Y'all have a great core and I expect will be contending for a long time. Don't worry, we got our fingers on the dump button. We've always given anyone who stops by the respect they deserve. We've had Sox fans that were a hell of a lot more annoying than Dawg.
  12. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) I'm not trying to piss anybody off. I'm just pissed that the tribe may not make the dance, and in my opinion stand a hell of a lot better chance of advancing than the Sox. And I understand that it's a marathon and not a sprint. However the Sox remind me of the Ironman guy on the Gatorade commercial suffering from dehydration in the final 50 meters of the race. And what really pisses me off is the amount of time that Pronk missed because of Buerhle. We get that month back with Pronk and the Sox are looking up at us. Say what you want, but that's a fact. The Sox had injuries also. Losing Thomas for most of the season hurt as well. We could also add a couple other names. I guess we were better able to adjust and overcome. Injuries are part of the game, too bad the Tribe wasn't able to overcome those as well as the Sox. I believe every team in the playoffs had to overcome a key injury this season. BTW, the Sox should have beat Minny last seasons but unjuries to Maggs and Thomas crushed us. Cry for me Wiredawg1. Nice try, would you like to play again? Is he related to Dawg, the Bounty Hunter?
  13. Could we have a permanent Marriotti thread? He always has thought provoking columns that Sox fans love to discuss. I don't think any true Sox fan ever misses one of Jay's Sox articles, in fact everyone seems to look forward to them. If we limit it to one thread, we'd have a nice history.
  14. I like eating peanuts and stuff right before the cut off and seeing what comes out.
  15. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) -drudgereport.com ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ politically motivated to be certain. This is going to be a giant waste of taxpayer's money.
  16. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) I'm reminded of a scene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. That is one of the funniest scenes evah!
  17. Seriously, the Dems did an end around the State's Attorney who should have had jurisdiction, now they are grasping at straws. He's not going to be taken down by this. The Dems took their best shot and failed two years ago. At some point they are going to try and nail him for jay walking. He out maneuvered the Dems with the redistricting ploy, which was slimy as anything ever pulled off, but legal. It's purely politically motivated. Let the voters in Sugarland vote him out if they choose to.

    QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Of course it hasn't hurt them in Texas...Tom Delay's mid-session Redistricting locked all of the Republican Congressmen in that state into districts that are as safe as humanly possible. Actually mid-decade would be more appropriate and accurate. After both parties agreed to a map, two years later DeLay orchestrated the redistricting, something that had never been done before. Don't you want a strong leader that would press any advantage that America has? He's get Bin Laden before lunch, lower gas prices, and cure male pattern baldness. If Hammer needed two wins the final week, he's have 3 before the week started and an agreement for a 4th, if necessary.
  19. He'll be found innocent. It's just the Dems and the liberal media running scared of the next Reagan. :rolly Hammer '08

    QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) While I would be thrilled we won the divison, that would still kinda blow to win it like that... It's the why waste any effort and win by a full game when you can win with a tie theory. But imagine leading the division for 161 games. As painful as that is, I laugh for some reason at that scenario, as long as there is a game Tuesday.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) I don't understand the logic behind this post at all... If I was a Yankees, Angels, or Red Sox fan I would be more than happy with the White Sox winning the Central. And what makes you think they 'can't stand' us being in first place? Is this a conspiracy theory or a woe-is-me philosophy? I think it's kind of like why can't we beat Detroit? They look at the Sox and can't believe a team with no offense, no .300 hitter, three different closers this season, and Oz for a manager, could be winning like we do. Basically a "How can we not be beating these guys?" Variation: Sitting in Philly and thinking the Padres are in the playoffs and we are facing elimination to the team that Texsox predicted would take the wild card in a soxtalk poll. I believe Tex was the only person to take the Astros.
  22. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) other teams' fans just can't stand the fact the White Sox are still in first place that's why you build up a huge lead and beat the teams you're supposed to beat early in the season. And half of White Sox fans can't believe we're still in first place, BYW dawg, we are puking, we are disgusted, go read a few of the threads around here, but I assume you can understand we don't like hearing that from an opposing team's fans on a White Sox fan site. BTW, you may have more fun at WSI. Just ask them about Marriotti's column today and why attendance was so low at the cell.
  23. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) I don't want to start an argument here, but this whole situation as an Indians fan makes me want to puke. The Sox have a golden oppritunity against probably the second worst team in the AL right now to lock this thing down and they lay two eggs in a row. And the Tribe gets stuck with the scrapiest team since the break in their next to last series. If I was a Sox fan right now (with all due respect) i'd be disgusted. These guys have got about as much chance of getting out of the first round as a AA club. They'll probably make it to the dance, but IMO they flat ass don't deserve to. So in your mind Spring Training was extended to the All-Star break? Just because your team didn't show up until the season was half over, the Sox don't deserve a playoff spot? Play all 162 games next time. BTW, Welcome to Soxtalk If y'all can be civil we'd love to hear from an Indians fan. Y'all have a great core and I expect will be contending for a long time.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) haha...of course it did. at least they were pre-apologizing for Joe. When Blum stepped up they both fell silent, I think they were both shocked that he was batting in that situation. Gotta love Ozzie's gut instinct
  25. Texsox replied to bigredrudy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    It is only decided on the field if it means one team's season is over. A ie between division v. wildcard is head to head, within division, within league, coin flip (IIRC)
