  1. It might have ended differently if she hadn't been playing the Stones album, Out of Our Heads, Side 2 Song 1* *IIRC if not, the trivia joke really, really sucks.
  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I ain't got no matches, but I sure got a long way to go. Ain't nobody here that will be your little dog But . . . You can burn my house, Steal my car, Drink my liquor From an old fruitjar.
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) See, now right there you show your lack of ss2k5 posting skills. There's an opportunity to start TWO threads and double your posting potential, and you go and combine both topics in ONE thread??? You still have much to learn, Grasshopper...... Yes indeed, I did consider this, but how many people reading this will think that SS and QP are marrying and having a baby? I was going to also ask about Steff's ducks, but that's just sick
  4. So what is the latest on the baby and the wedding plans. I love the synergy of this thread, especially to those just tuning in to SL&P.
  5. I'm guessing we somehow harnessed all our collective knowledge, we'd stand a slim chance. The guy is amazing.
  6. All schools should be designated by a number. Then only the odd people will protest.
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) I always thought the girl had Billy Joe whacked. I was justing thinking is the world would have been better if she had Billy Joel wacked.
  8. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Must be 30 years of age or younger. Yep, inexperience is a turnoff for those of us that stopped experimenting and now know how to do it.
  9. Maybe if he had talked to his doctor about
  10. Before I pass judgement on this poor guy, was it the playoffs?

Now that someone noticed, it's only been a couple weeks, and y'all can't ban me anymore, I'd like to say what I really think of y'all . . . yusguys (midwest alt. to y'all) rock. Thanks for all the hard work and keeping Soxtalk 100% Troll free and the board ungaged.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) I had them demoted... Baaahaaaahaaaahaaaaa..... Trust me, to some, this is very, very funny.
  13. Actually I figured the GOPernauts were upset that he did any pro-bono work. He worked for free?? :headshake
  14. I have always seen that song as a lesson in how differently even family members view the same event. I imagine that the girl and Billy Joe were in love and he committed suicide. While the rest of the family barely noticed, she was in pain and mourned him a year later. In a turnabout, she views the death of her father and her mom's lack of coping the same way they treated her boyfriend's suicide. Kind of a "Cat's in the Cradle" lesson. I've always wondered what Shook Me All Night Long was about.

  16. Hey Kap and Southsider :fyou Isn't it about time y'all got back to work?
  17. Must really get him excited to know he's worth a 4th round pick BTW, hockey would be a better sport if they eliminated fighting and you had to actually lay a decent check on someone to retaliate.
  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:37 AM) Have that many people seen Bad Santa? Or is it that the collest kid in school saw it, started using the word, and now everybody does? I think Jim was the collest since I was already the coolest . . .
  19. Take me out to the Ballgame with my White Sox wallpaper
  20. "Write?" I print out many checks each month, sign them, and mail them or hand them to employees. Some of my payroll is delivered in cash to help those employees who have decided that a checking account is far too advanced for them. I use checks when I have employees picking stuff up at stores, easier than giving them my debit card and tracking them down to get it back. I use checks at one large supplier to take advantage of some float. I know he only deposits twice a week. I keep some interest money for a few more days. In those far away and long ago days in college, I wrote checks hoping for a couple days float before my paycheck appeared. And I know everyone here has at least once or twice when they were uncertain of their balance, and didn't want to have the card denied.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) This site makes me rich. I guess we have to train the N00b. That should be in green.
  22. Go back 15 years and add up all the World Series participants from the AL East and NL East. Duh, there is an East Coast bias, because that's where the champions come from. For most of the country, the baseball season will not start for another 5 or 6 weeks. They tune in for the final pennant races and the playoffs.
  23. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) It's funny how I could say the sky was blue and I would still get a hard time from some of you clowns. You would say it at night
