I'd be excited to acquire him for a mid level prospect and at half the salary. We could talk about him rebounding, etc. In this case it will be better to receive than to give. The tax angle is so overblown. No one went broke paying taxes on profits. JR sold properties and paid taxes to build the wealth that allowed him to buy a portion of the team. Imagine yourself saying please don't give me that $1,000,000 because I'll have to pay $300,000 in taxes or not selling your house at a profit to avoid paying taxes.

I wish someone would write a book on the behind the scenes scheduling discussions going on at the top programs. With it being such a huge factor I image there is a lot of work being put in.
