  1. Sochan to the Bulls makes too much sense to happen. He needs a regular position and minutes or his career may be over at 22. The Bulls would get versatility at forward at a cheap price.
  2. By the way curling fans there is a pod cast about a huge controversy that almost destroyed the sport. Well worth listening to.
  3. I think we can all agree that the team is doing everything possible to win 66 games this season. I'm truly amazed by the all in attitude.
  4. Next he'll sue his parents for bad genetics that weren't quite good enough. But, I'd still rather he get the money than JR
  5. I really miss the days when that was backed by actual hope. "Honey I found this plastic platter at a garage sale for 50¢, we can just throw it away after the BBQ."
  6. Another paper plate for the summer picnic.
  7. When we remodeled our bathroom that was the one thing that I insisted on. My wife thought I was crazy, now we're looking into options for our travel trailer. Lol
  8. *English Nerd Warning!! I'm currently teaching Beowulf Hwæt! I am the Filth-Slayer, foe of the Tree-Scraper! I wash the Seat-King whiter than the Pale-Hose. I wield the Wave-Spear, a pure South-Side-Surge. The Shadow-Stain is vanquished. Next we could go medieval and have a story telling contest between the players while on a road trip.
  9. Check, check, and check. Kohler. Once you have one you'll know.
  10. Exactly.
  11. This may have been the first trade I can remember where fans of both teams hated it. 😂
  12. I am certain there are some shareholder owners that invest to lose money and win, but I'm guessing the majority are in it to make a profit. Same as every other business owner.
  13. Being away from Chicago I love hearing the accent. There is a group that meets for every game here and I haven't gone in a couple years, now I hate being the wagon jumper.
  14. I agree that adding "just" anybody doesn't make sense. I think they are looking at a 75 win season which they can come close to without adding much.
  15. Good for him. I wasn't at much of a fan until his replacement showed up.
  16. As the "other" English teacher around here I approve this message. Plus the OP was damn funny.
  17. I hadn't heard that. We can cross that one off. I just think of the marque positions that rarely turn over.
  18. I thought it said Cubs at first. LOL I hope he does well.
  19. "Bad owner" for fans of the team. Great owner for investors. Very good owner for the other owners, although that has dropped the past ten years. Very good owner to non player employees. (Loyalty and job protection) Average to above average owner for average players. Well below average owner for superstars looking for appropriate contracts. Well above average for players and coaches with literally no other place to work. Average (big guess on my part) to neighboring businesses and the surrounding community.
  20. "Hey JR, we bought another scratch off ticket."
  21. More disposable paper plates for the summer BBQ. Save the good stuff for 2027.
  22. I'd be excited to acquire him for a mid level prospect and at half the salary. We could talk about him rebounding, etc. In this case it will be better to receive than to give. But reality is we have him. I keep thinking that him in the line up in 2026 only makes sense in the altered reality at 35th and Wentworth*. *Shields just hasn't made sense to me.
  23. I wish positive influence on the game and character played a role in the selection. Fame: the state of being known or talked about by many people, especially on account of notable achievements.

The tax angle is so overblown. No one went broke paying taxes on profits. JR sold properties and paid taxes to build the wealth that allowed him to buy a portion of the team. Imagine yourself saying please don't give me that $1,000,000 because I'll have to pay $300,000 in taxes or not selling your house at a profit to avoid paying taxes.
  25. I wish someone would write a book on the behind the scenes scheduling discussions going on at the top programs. With it being such a huge factor I image there is a lot of work being put in.
