Most contracts favor the team early and the player later. I’ve always looked at the average per year. Deals get structured this way hoping for increasing team revenues not expecting productivity to increase.

I see the pictures of the students and teacher that was killed today then look up from my desk and see my students. I look in the hall and see my fellow teachers. Any of us could be next. That my fellow soxtalkers sucks.

Interesting theory.

At his best, I could agree with that. At his worst, which was for a long stretch in Chicago, he is beyond the worst manager in baseball. Average them together and I will take the other two.

I was just looking through some promo stuff Ford sent me on the new F-150. I've been considering the diesel but likely will wait until I retire and have more of a need for a diesel. What caught my eye was they are integrating Amazon Alexa into the truck. I use the hell out of mine at home and I'm thinking it would be great in the truck. Even better would be incorporating Waze navigation into the on board display.

I wish Ozzie was the name that could not be mentioned. He burned bridges that should never be rebuilt. Not just with the organizations he managed, but also for MLB in general.

Presidents get too much credit and too much blame. One of the biggest contributions they make is being a cheerleader. Trump has a group of Americans cheering that we haven't heard from since the early 1950s. Why did everyone love Reagan? After the scandals of Nixon, the clumsiness of Ford, and the wimpiness of Carter he was a bigger than life cowboy literally riding in on the white horse to save us. Clinton? A sax playing young good looking guy after the octogenarian Reagan and the "is it is mother or wife?" Bush duo. Cheerleading when we wanted it.

One thing I know from many years here, statements like this are almost always correct. I only checked because as an English teacher I enjoy the linguistics. They could right the throw has to beat the runner, which would have one meaning, but they wrote the runner has to beat the throw. Edge to defense, which surprises me.

I had to check that out. From MLB.com

Isn't one of the underlying principles of our justice system that people can be rehabilitated? What I'm wondering is how is he paying his bills? He has to be in his 60s or close to 70.

While I agree this is over board, so too is the fuck you I can insult anyone I want and if you actually get insulted you are part of the PC b.s. crowd. People once upon a time had manners. Is was considered impolite to insult someone.

Mouse Trap Monday on YouTube, y'all can thank me later.

Five or so weeks of school left. Then three weeks of training. Then heading north to cooler temps.

My daughter had her bachelorette party in Washington State.

I wonder why they were returned to anyone? The man (not a kid) was an adult and should just have had his property seized. Why even give it to the dad? And still not comment, middle of the night tweet, etc from the President.

So how does Trump benefit by not acknowledging the Waffle House shooter or hero? Is his base really as bad as Dems want to paint it out to be?

The job creators use the money that the middle and lower income wage earners spend to grow their businesses.

I actually had a chance to play a round. A few things I discovered. I can still get a ball around the course, although I moved up a tee box. I went to the 6,500 yard tees and shot +2 for the back nine, including being one under for the final 6 holes. I just am too short to play the tips. This course has five sets of tees and I'm never going back to the tips again.

He becomes the White Sox Doug Collins in 2021

We're staying a little closer to home this summer after our 8,000 mile roadtrip last summer. It's a coin flip between the Rockies and Smokey Mountains. I really love Memphis and Nashville for the music but we're really wanting some quiet glamping time in our RV.

Other reports say he is naked. I'd include that in the be on the lookout notice.

I received the tux a few days ago, I just now had a chance to try it on. Everything fit reasonably well. The quality is average. The condition of the tux, shirt, and tie were above average. Overall I'm pleased with the experience. We'll see when it's time to return it. But sealing it in a box weems so much easier than heading back to a store.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 02:40 PM) Seeing as the only "work" Cohen seems to do as an attorney is hush payments, Im going to guess that is what Hannity was paying him for. Cohen really had to be up to something, because only having 3 clients is absurdly small. Its not like he was general counsel for Trump's business, the business actually has its own real lawyers. (Edit) So some quick research, maybe related to: http://www.newsweek.com/sean-hannity-debbi...fox-news-588881 I know a couple lawyers who only work at the law part time. Their other legitimate business interests occupy most of their time. What it does is potentially offer privilege, which we are learning may not be iron clad. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 03:16 PM) "Sean Hannity did not have legal relations with that man" Post of the Month worthy

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 01:07 PM) You cannot have a baseball stadium face west. It's one thing to have sun in the eyes of OFs. In the eyes of hitters is a huge no, no. I remember seats at Wrigley below the scoreboard in center field. Bad for hitters. My grandfather told a story that fans were encouraged to wear white when the opponents were batting and blue when the Cubs were batting. Not sure if it was true or he was pulling my leg.
