  1. I can't see bringing in anyone high dollar until 2026 or 2027.

Vaughn the RBI machine. He's got a great chance at 70 this year. That is more than two a week. Blistering pace.

Yikes. What a difference a few years make. I brought back two cases this year.
  4. The men's 1500m was my favorite track moment of these Olympics
  5. He has proven his versatility in multiple positions. His willingness to do whatever a team needs. Probably still has some potential development in the right organization. He's probably a solid bench player for a few teams.

Agreed. There really isn't any reason to check in. Look who he's playing with. I think getting back to playing games that matter is all he needs.
  7. Hey, hey, hey Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember? Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
  8. Neither am I. For all we know he's managing the roster exactly like Getz (JR) want.
  9. I'd like to know what direction he's been given. If the interim is going to be held to inning management, whose starting, etc. It's probably not worth it besides something to talk about.

No one in the organization is really trying to win now. He's not wanted here. He's a piece of meat they tried to trade and couldn't. He knows he'll be gone as soon as someone makes a decent offer.
  11. JR, "Pedro, welcome back to Chicago. Congrats on that win. Why don't you stop by my office tomorrow and we'll celebrate. BTW, bring a box."
  12. I'm fine with signing disposable players for the next season of two.
  13. If we were prisoners of war the Geneva Convention would prohibit us from watching this s%*# show.
  14. Are you thinking he wanted the surgery but the team didn't allow it?
  15. And if it was me, I'd be getting multiple opinions.
  16. I don't blame a player for delaying surgery and trying other options. They are humans after all.
  17. I believe addiction specialists call Schriffen's behavior as "enabling".
  18. Trying not to ruin the development of guys. Remember Vaughn getting rushed and playing out of position? They are placeholders until guys are ready.
  19. It would be the highlight of the season.
  20. Win today and head into the Cub series on a hot streak.
  21. Despite the team rushing him to the majors and prioritizing wins over his development he's hanging on.
  22. My first Gamethread win of all time was yesterday. And with that single win I'm near the top of 2024 gamethread starting winning steaks. #2 win? ? Brent Rooker and the Oakland Athletics take on Andrew Vaughn and the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday at 3:37 PM ET in the final game of a three-game series. The Athletics are the favorite in this one, at -192, while the underdog White Sox have +160 odds to upset. Oakland is a 1.5-run favorite (at +113 odds). The total is 8.5 runs for the game Most of the players in this afternoon's game have wanted to play baseball in the worst way since they were kids. And they have succeeded. They are playing in the worst way.
  23. You mean we don't want to rush guys and hamper their development. Some die hard contrarians believe you can promote everyone, anytime, regardless of readiness.
  24. Fitting for these two teams
  25. That will stop as soon as they fall behind
