  1. Reread the article. He did not ask the *government* for permission, the government was not the land owner than. It was more he did not ask for any special government designation for the memorial on private land.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 10:52 AM) Fitting end to the season? Yep, grounding into a double play was a fitting end. And ending the disappointing season was one of the most disappointing acquisitions. Instead of the spark to ignite a pennant run, he pissed in the punch. I think he came in with too much expectations. I suspect next season to be much kinder to him. Here's to a better 2010
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) and hangovers get worse with age, even if you learn to tolerate them a bit better That was a turning point in my life, I now fear the hangover. No way I want to be barfing and sweating.
  4. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/10/05/sup...ref=mpstoryview Story Highlights A war memorial erected in the shape of a cross was covered by plywood The cross is located on government property Justices will decide whether the display violates the First Amendment It's "sort of odd that it just happens to be in that shape," said an ACLU attorney Originally erected decades ago on private land, the land was donated to the government, now the monument is in danger. Congress, back when it was under REP control, worked out a smart solution of swapping 5 acres of and just outside the park for one acre, the acre this sits on. I'll gladly with the GOP lawmakers on this issue.
  5. Nothing compares to the Island in October, more than makes up for August.

  12. Awesome! Perfectly fitting end of the season!
  13. I just realized 2009 were my all time lows in game thread posts, games watched on TV, and just about every other measure. I underachieved as a fan as much as this team underachieved as players, coaches, and managers.
  14. Really?! Rally Crede is just a memory
  15. One game playoff and both lose. The Twins because winter is fast approaching and the Tigers because they have to live in Detroit. Twins win the division, they have so much experience making it happen.
  16. Perfect day for football

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) Noodles and Co, Chipotle, Potbellys, Jimmy Johns, Cold Stone, all popular chains that are on campus. I dont know if you could get her one but a GC to Cocomero would be awesome. Its a frozen yougrt and fresh fruit place, pretty good and really the hottest place for dessert now. Hope that helps. That helps, only Cold Stone is near me. Also, I'm hearing about some cookie place that delivers?
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 05:54 AM) I ordered a 52 inch flatscreen TV yesterday. Barely 5 minutes after I got it delivered my stepdaughter took my son and climbed into the outer box and started rocking it like an idiot in a boat. She predictably loses control of it and falls over, and knocks over the TV that was sitting vertically on the floor because I hadn't taken it out of the box yet. Fortunately the TV still works but what the f*** was she thinking? Did your wife work out a discount on the TV? Or do her powers of manipulation only work for tires?
  19. I just found out that my dad, the guy that made my brother and I clean out plates no matter what was served, adds a little shredded cheese to the dog's food is she doesn't like it. And even slightly melts the cheese.
