  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) Not too long ago, pitchers were judged by their win/loss record. Now not so much. Jake's win total is very low for a guy who pitches so deep into games because of his throwing a fit whenever he gets taken out. He's a good starting pitcher. Not so sure he's an All Star even though he made the team. Im 99% sure you never looked at the stats, which say he has had a helluva season and most definitely deserved that AS.
  2. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Give me production, thats what I look at. Runs scored and Runs driven in, thats what wins ball games right, runs?? Too contingent on other players to be taken seriously at an individual level.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) A nameless female friend of mine from tweeting from Wrigley... Maybe if I paid attention I would know who is actually scoring! Bahahaha In other news, the world is still round.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 05:45 PM) That show is so awful. Apparently a ton of people watched it and triggered an auto-renewal, I wouldn't doubt for a second though that number starts dropping off big time.
  5. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) This really irritates me. I bought tickets to the Detroit series, and 2 weeks before the series starts, tickets are discounted even further? Why would I as a Sox fan want to buy tickets in advance these days? You guarantee a seat that you want?
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 02:48 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS justin morneau was claimed on waivers several days ago, w/ no trade completed. so he's staying in minnesota. #twins If I was the Twins GM, I would've let him go.

    Hot Rod
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) There is only like 3 beers in there, WTF? Clearly he is getting a Kegerator in there.
  9. So I spent a summer before college as a mover, now 4 years later I will never move into a 3rd floor, no elevator apartment again (without hiring someone to help). Rough, exhausting weekend.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) Well, did Dayan die? Traded for a reliever
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 11:19 PM) I don't know if I'm more upset or happy. Cause 6 runs in the ninth is kinda unacceptable s*** happens, it's baseball, every bullpen will have a freak outing like this. Good teams find ways to win, and they did that tonight. I'm really looking forward to the near future of this team.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) If a player is put on waivers, the team claiming him can trade for him under the same rules. If a player clears waivers he can be traded to any team. All of the players in this deal either cleared waivers or got to the Dodgers/Red Sox. Players not on a 40 man roster can be involved in those trades without clearing waivers. Gotchya, knew the first part, was unclear on the second part.
  13. So Im a little hazy on these rules, after the trade deadline, you can claim a player and attempt a trade for them (if on revocable waivers). I thought you were only allowed to trade players that don't have to go through waivers (non-40 man roster) and/or cash for those claims. I guess I was wrong...
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) In the majors? If one of them is in the majors starting, I'll be happy. IMO, Mitchell is not even close to having the potential that Thompson and Hawkins are. If one of those guys EVER pans out to their hype we would be doing very well, to expect all 3 to even make it to the majors is a big stretch at this point, especially in 2014.
  15. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 08:47 AM) I think most schools start in the last or second to last week in August now. It seems like it gets earlier every year, though. Slowly but surely, summer is disappearing, and I hate it.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Congrats, Russ! QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 06:14 AM) Congrats man. You have to be right around me, we'll have to hit up a bar for a Sox game and a few beers at some point. Thanks guys! First apartment that wasnt at college so Im excited for that. And Row, definitely down to get a drink, or 15.
  17. We found a nice place on craigslist and went to see a few places this past week, settled on one this afternoon and put a deposit down for it. $1150/mth for a 2br, rehabbed and in a nice area of Rogers Park, 2 blocks west of the metra station. I'm happy, it's affordable, nice, and the location is safe and quiet with access to the ragers at other people's apartments.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) Had my first real job(post college) interview a couple weeks back thought it went well. My friend said the person has been on vacation this week and I should do a follow up call tomorrow when he is back. I sent him an email a couple days after thanking him for the time etc., what exactly do you say in a phonecall? Be polite, confident, concise, and enthusiastic. Just tell them youre excited for the job and you are just looking for a date that you should expect more information.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) So really, nothing to lose. Only the public loses.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 05:08 PM) I'm sorry, when you post...I see your avatar and then I don't hear a word you say. Haha yea it's hard to look away. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) No s***. But the thing is, the more people who pay attention to it, the more he's going to leave it because he likes the attention. Not sure if joke?

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) Has anyone ever taken a paycut for a better shift? I pretty much have until 12:30 to answer. The paycut is about $55 on paycheck every two weeks, it's not a lot but it's not like a make bank... Scenario: My current shift involves working 12 hour NIGHT shifts, 3 times a week but sometimes 6 times out of 7 nights. I would be moving on to four 10 hour days starting Sunday, ending Wednesday. At night I work mostly by myself, no one to talk to, the shifts are easy (but extremely boring at the same time) because not much happens at night but I have to be there just in case, I kind of set up the work for the following day. The new shift, I would be working with others, have a lot more work (I feel the days would go by faster and I would be doing more important things). Bottom line a position opened up and its the only way I can escape working nights however it comes with a bit of a pay cut. Would it be possible to move up more/get noticed more in this new position? Im assuming yes, and if that could lead to a better paycheck/job later than I think it'd be worth it.

Woody Harrelson has been one of my favorite actors of late as well.
  23. Good, needed win right there.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Uh oh. They only real hitter in their lineup up with the bases juiced. I can't believe Edwin's numbers, never expected him to be that good.
