Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) Jon Garland and Juan Uribe aren't going to help draw many fans, I can pretty much guarantee that It won't cost them much to produce, and nostalgia works wonders for some.

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:33 PM) Do the Red Sox do a special party whenever Orlando Cabrera or Pedro visit Fenway? If you want to do a team thing then I'd be cool with that. But this is dumb. I can't help it. As long as JR is the owner, loyalty/history will be a huge deal to the organization (for better or for worse).

You'll never please everybody (not a knock on either side of the argument), but if this brings in more people to the ballpark then Im all for it.

Interesting Trade Possibilities.
QUOTE (typewritermender @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Let's just try to dump Pierre+Teahen+Cash on someone for below average OF that can backup a Viciedo/Lilli platoon. I'd take almost anyone. Give them to Philli for Francisco or Mayberry. Just get them off our damn team and let's start the Tank Era already. Also keep all our starters. We should be using Humber in the pen anyway. Then if one of our starters go down we don't have to scramble for a fill-in. Though I WOULD love to see Sale get a spot start or two. Don't think that'll happen though. Why would teams want our crap and bad contracts?

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Who is complaining? The closest thing to a complaint that I saw was Tex, and he already came around to the idea. This site is ridiculous sometimes. Even when there are no complaints, people act like there are. Don't you realize? You're on ignore and they just figured you were complaining.

Financial News
QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2011 -> 10:20 AM) from what i read the first real purchase of it was at $83. Which at that point, I'm not sure i'd be confident I'd get a good return. But I DO think LinkedIn is a solid company, with real revenue and chance for growth. It went up to about $115, and is currently at $101, that's a quick profit if bought at $83ish.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) Well how bout that. Were a month and a half into the season and a pitcher is throwing harder than he did in April.. Shocking! That was more of a shot at the gloom and doom posters who always bring up velocity in early April. His control was what worried me, hopefully he found a good rythym to again.

Who is the oldest Soxtalk poster?

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) Play of the year? Good God that was beautiful. A couple of friends and myself were just in utter shock by that play, we gave him a slow clap at the game for the effort.

QUOTE (Tex @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) Treat them the same as every other player on an opposing team? It's been six years. Maybe you do something the following season if they were gone, but it's been too long. I like the gesture, but not sox years later. Sox years is way longer than 6 years.

i am drunk
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:28 AM) Margarita is a tequila and lime drink, though several people like to ruin it with strawberry or watermelon or blue s***. Margherita is a term used to describe a combination of mozzarella, tomato, and basil (and sometimes feta), usually on pizza. Haha, I was really sleep deprived and not paying attention to what I was posting. I do know the difference.

i am drunk
I was hammered by 8pm at the Sox game, unlimited beer is an awesomely deadly thing, and the margheritas at the field are actually really strong. Sobered up on the trip back to the house (had to drive about 5 miles from the metra station I get off at to get back home) but this girl was all over me, I shoulda just went with it and missed some work tomorrow, but gotta be professional I guess

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Just got back from the game. First, Patio Party is EPIC, definitely worth it with a large group of friends and over 21. I drank about 8 beers in 2 hrs there, lots of fun being that close to the action and unlimited beer. Second, what a fantastic game to watch, blown awa by the early success of the offense and Floyd, I knew you were going to bring your beastmode!!

Bad Ass ALL STAR Vato Loco???
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) Until Beachy went down (and he was killin' it), they didn't have any room for Julio Teheran or Mike Minor. Two of the top 10 or so consensus best prospects in the game. That's not even mentioning Delgado and Vizcaino. Nobody does internal development like the Braves. Nobody. Usually a trade like they gave up to the Rangers for Tex would kill a team, and although it probably hurt them a bit, they really don't get flacked on that much because they can recover so easily from what should have been a devestating blow.

Bad Ass ALL STAR Vato Loco???
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Yes, best reliever in baseball this year. At least if you believe in advance metrics. Yeah, Santos hasn't given up a run. By that definition and that definition alone he would be the best. But I don't remember anybody saying Dustin Hermanson was the best reliever in baseball in '05. Kimbrel: 14.81 K/9, 4.35 BB/9, 1.09 FIP, 1.87 xFIP, 1.0 WAR. Santos: 10.35 K/9, 4.05 BB/9, 1.98 FIP, 2.79xFIP, 0.7 WAR. And I follow Kimbrel extensively. I've got him in 3 of my fantasy leagues. They started the season with a platoon of he and Venters. But I think Kimbrel has more than shown (11 saves) that he's capable of filling the closer role. Venters: 8.9 k/9, 2.2 BB/9, WHIP .616, ERA+507, WAR 1.2. Incredible having him and Kimbrel at the back of the bullpen. EDIT: one fun stat, in 83 innings last year, Venters gave up 1 homerun.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 18, 2011 -> 04:28 AM) Only a couple weeks to go! Ideally, I'd like to get a fair sized group and pool money to buy a bunch of seats together for the Sunday afternoon game. Are creating a list or anything?

Bad Ass ALL STAR Vato Loco???
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 18, 2011 -> 05:33 AM) Santos has been pretty incredible. One of the few good things to happen to this franchise amongst the avalanche of bad the last few years. But the Kimbrel kid from Atlanta has been the top reliever to this point. Don't forget Venters, he'd be right up there in top closers if he wasn't relegated to setup duty because of Kimbrel.
